- Hands on with a fantastic dive watch! A watch that truly made me so happy and have hope in the world again! The Oris Aquis New York Harbour Limited Edition made in partnership with The Billion Oysters Project. Honestly, I loved this watch. This has become my new favourite Aquis AAAAND I learned, the 41.5mm Aquis fits me just fine!
Anyways, this video is just all my thoughts and feelings on this watch. :) I'd love to hear yours.

Ok a couple of things I need to clear up! 1. It is the Oris 733 movement in this watch :) not 722! Typo on my part haha. And I have to wear a vest because it is so dang cold in the garage where I film!

Oris is awesome. I own a diver 65, I bought my son an Aquis GMT, and we bought a family member in Korea the Aquis LE supporting Han River cleanup. He was genuinely moved that a Swiss watchmaker even knows the Han River exists. You are crushing it, congratulations. And we wear vests all the time to stay warm - own it and ignore the naysayers!
Just bought one of these for my father as an anniversary gift. He's from New York and met my mother while he was a diving instructor so I thought it was fitting. If anyone is interested in this watch in the slightest I'd encourage you to try to see one in person. No picture, video, or social media post does that dial justice even in the slightest.

My first watch into luxury watches was a green oris aquis, which I happen to be wearing today. Its one of my favourite brands.
The straps are usually inverted when you have a buckle clasp instead of a pin buckle because the clasp forms better to your wrist this way when closed
This one folds away, opposite of all the other deployants we have which fold towards us… it’s less comfy.

I just subscribed this week because Britt's outgoing, funny and "you don't know what she's going to say next" delivery is hilarious. So refreshing to see that you don't need a 3-piece suit presentation to love and appreciate watches. Plus, the commentary asides like "I don't give a shit about oysters" really brighten my day. I'll clam up now...
I got my Aquis NY Harbour LE just a few days ago on 21st Sep. Just looking at the piece online made me enquire about it and see if it's available. I had enquired about the watch on a Monday and by Wednesday all the pieces across India had been sold (there were 2 pieces available but they had advance payments against them). The dealer tried contacting Oris to see if one can be sourced from the factory, but he was told that Oris had sold all pieces worldwide so no more could be made.
I had given up and thought no way I'm getting this and started looking at other brands. Then I get a call on Sunday from the AD that one of the pieces that had an advanced payment on it is available because the customer went for the Carl Brashear LE instead. I immediately paid for it then without ever seeing the watch. Such a relief when it arrived and I tried it on to see that it was a piece of beauty that fits perfectly on my wrist.
I only wished they went for a movement with a longer power reserve like the 798 or the 400. That’s the only thing I find lacking in the watch.
I should send you my Oris Aquis with the Tungsten bezel and leather strap for a review! It’s pretty rare 😊

Initially I loved the look of the Aquis model range but like you disliked the ability to just swap out the bracelet for a different band and then ...... I tried one on the wrist... The Aquis cal 400 for some odd and crazy reason ended up on my wrist at the AD just to look at you understand and it was so comfortable and the dial was brilliant and I left the AD wearing it on my wrist... after paying for it of course. The upcycle was a very brave move and to a lesser extent was the Dat Watt but they made these watches both of which they should be commended. The Oyster Bay is another example of Oris putting its money where its mouth is, quite tempting.
I like the fact that they’ve released smaller versions with this mother of pearl dial.

I love that watch but I would buy it and it would just sit in my watch winder as I’m struggling to find time for any of my other watches other than my Omegas or Rolex, and the only oyster I care about is the Perpetual types lol 😂
I have an Oris on my wishlist. The Aquis is my favorite. I like the smaller multi-color dial version and think it would be the perfect summer watch on a white rubber strap.
Great presentation Oris should have let you use the complete set bracelet and strap tool. The watch should have the 400 movement. Longer power reserve and 10 year warranty.

That dial is beautiful. From a distance it is a light moss that has a creamy luminescence afforded by the shimmer of the shell. Up close, the dial is a mix of green tones, and non-uniform strokes and smudges that provide texture and depth. Marvellous.
Oris is the most exciting brand in watches right now.

Oris was my first Lux watch after a Rolex AD told me, "You don't want a Rolex Sub" when I asked to see one, leaving me at the counter he just walked away. After waiting awhile to see where he went, I left. 🤔 Still have the Oris, still works but hasn't been my best watch. The movement had an issue and after sending it back to Oris under warranty it was returned with the same problem. 😕 Finally took it to the local watchmaker a short bike ride from my house. He looked at it, took it all apart, called me and said he could order the part from ETA and have it fixed in 6 weeks for $xxx. He returned the watch and it's worked perfect ever since. 🤣Then I went off to Tudor land 🤣🤣🤣 Hilarious! 🤣🤣

I live in New York and there were 9 Humpbacked whales spotted in the Hudson. I remember the Hudson as being a sewer. Far too dirty for whales. Oysters clean the water. I am not a fan of the watch, but I am interested in the 5 day power reserve movements of Oris.
The New York Harbour looks fantastic on you. Oris has become one of my favourite brands! Just picked up the Oris 1917 , would love to see you do a review on it. Hahahahaha love the end part lol where you ramble on about sick days etc…

Love your videos...love Oris more and more...but the strap limitation is still a bummer for me :( i love NATO straps from time to time, love rubber bands from time to time and love some steel bracelets...i switch the straps on my Longines Hydroconquest and my Tudor BB all the time. Love this Oris, it’s my favourite of theirs - amazing MoP dial. Wish there were more dive watches with natural/stone dials.
My only concern, whilst I love the rubber strap on a dive watch, is I wish the brand wasn’t emblazoned all over it - this feels unnecessary and cheapens it for me. I feel it would’ve been better with a subtle texture on the rubber instead. (bit like an Aquanaut). Then I’d buy one in a heartbeat. But kudos to Oris. Great brand.
As to oysters, I’m a big fan. After your disappointing (but honest!) admission, next video - expect to see you in a “Oysters Matter” top!

Love the Aquis.......although not so sure about the green one, not my favourite colour.
I've never given Oris that much thought mainly because the Aquis exists in a world where I can save up a little bit more and get a used Omega Seamaster 300 or if I am patient enough a Tudor Black Bay 58. I've seen black bays at 2500 from time to time and I have seen Seamasters anywhere between $2000 and $3500. I will admit however that I've not checked the used prices on Oris.

I have been saving up for the Orbis and should be able to get it in the next 6 months - I have the Speedy and the Seamaster but the Orbis will be my most meaningful watch and I am glad that Omega does through their partnership with Orbis, amazing and impactful work for underprivileged children in some of the poorest parts of the globe….

Damn Britt! My next acquisition was going to be the Oris Aquis cherry red dial. I was so enamored with that dial, and then you introduce me to this stunning green limited edition, and now I am in a quandry: Do I choose the cherry red dial or the Harbour, or do I just break the bank and buy both!
Green Oyster will always be more special. The red one doesn’t do it for me, and I’ve really tried bonding with it.
This dial is really beautiful. Hard to capture on film.
I went to get a cherry and was legitimately disappointed. Think burgundy it really is that dark and from a distance it looks black.

As much as I try to like the Aquis I just don't like how it looks on my wrist. It's not the size, but it just looks like all dial even with that bezel. I'm not sure why but it's just odd to my eye.

I’m in the minority and have never been a fan of the Aquis. This is by far my favourite version of the Aquis though the dial is awesome and I love the bezel, never been a fan of the shiny ceramic bezels on the original. Unfortunately the bezel play is terrible on the Aquis.
