This seems a lot like my situation, last year to the beginning of this year I was an 11X(11B but whatever lol) and I failed the PT test out of basic for the run, just barely, but it was my last chance to make it up. I took being sent back home over being recycled, which I’m glad I did. U wasn’t planning on staying in infantry anyway. It was fun, life changing, and I miss it but it wasn’t good for my body physically, I was pushing hard and I felt like I was 98 years old and I was only 19 lol. My body looked good tho and I lost like around 70 lbs. I felt like it gave me a chance to do my own way of reclassing. So now I’m either trying to decide MP, or small arms repair. And I don’t like the slide thing either, hands on is nicer and yeah a lot of times we would fall asleep and I fixed that and learned to stay up or obviously best times to sneak and sleep in the bay lol. But hands on would be nice. And I’ll be contacting my recruiter later this month to set up my paperwork and all that. But for sure keep your head up, you got that far passing basic. And I did both basic and OSUT but I still kept trying, kept working out when I came back for holiday block. Riding it out is a good choice, try and focus though, maybe a different mos isn’t all that bad you know ? I really had MP on my mind so I could switch over to dog handler. I’m still honestly thinking about that too down the road, but the main goal is at hand, getting in and staying in right ? So keep all that in mind. Your strong, Army strong....cheesy Ik lol. No one, not the drill sergeants from basic or the sergeants at AIT, told us to keep our original camouflage camelbacks from basic, to show our unit. It's just one of the many, many stupid ass things about the Army that other branches like the Air Force don't have to deal with the same way.
@@macburger5026 Everyones AIT experience might be different. Some units in AIT will be able to choose canteen or Camelback, others may have no choice but to only wear the Camelback. ALSO, when you graduate and get to your unit its the same concept, EVERY battalion, unit, company is different. I DID NOT get fined for not having the same Camelback or just a Camelback in general. So to be safe just keep your original Camelback. Too easy
I’m in victor 262 at the moment

@@LawrenceIsLight I am no longer in the service. It was a great experience while I was in. I learned a lot and grew as an adult. Now, I am retired and have dedicated my life to God and rearing my children in the right direction. I will make another video one day. Not sure when but randomly it will happen lol.

@@WalknSuccess The problem is you don't know if another trainee might see you and snitch on you, even though they have nothing to gain from it and they'll probably get smoked right along with you since it's still mass punishments just like basic.
