Until now, I was acquainted with some of Vanhal's compositions largely thanks to NAXOS recordings, sometimes played over classical radio stations here in the USA. Seeing an actual performance helps us understand how he put together a piece. Thanks for posting this interesting concerto by a Czech composer reportedly respected by Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven.
As someone who almost dies every time she gets covid it's this type of attitude that stops me doing the things I love like playing in an orchestra! Show some empathy towards those less fortunate than yourself please.
Yes, I agree with you! I can not imagine that musicians feel well when they wear masks, and I think it has an impact of their playing because they need the whole body to play and the body needs to breathe well!
Azzolini is unmatched! Truly the greatest bassoonist in history
Agree
Ein musikalischer Gruß aus Südtirol,oh wie erfreulich ist das . Dankeschön 😊❤️lch da ke ❤️😊
The wonderfulness of their performances is off the charts, and irreplaceable
Love the reference to Marriage of Figaro in the 3rd movt's cadenza!

2:48 nice!
Probably on original historical bassoon by Kaspar Tauber, Vienna??
Lute as a continuo instrument would have been considered quite out-dated by Vanhal's time. Interesting choice though.
Had to laugh a bit at the slow movement cadenza. Azzolini brought the wrong cadenza to the party. 😀😆
I don't watch videos with mask-wearing performers. It's all theatre at this point.
let's talk about music, please.
Don't, you lose
