I love love love this orchestra so much! They are so very versatile, stylistically convincing in all the music tackle. Their first chairs are uniformly amazing. They are the whole package! And thank you from. A grateful fan for making so many beautifully recorded performances available to us all over the world!!
This orchestra has brought me so much joy, especially in the last few unbelievable years. And this Vivaldi is another work that is new to me and is an utter delight.
Herrlich interpretiert. Der zweite Satz ist Zucker!
I have been listening to this every night for a week, and I can't get enough of it! The bassoon has such a beautiful sound, and the orchestra is magnificent! Thank you for sharing. Your recordings always have great quality, excellent sound and amazing performances! This is my favourite way of discovering new music.
BRAVO, THEO!!
Spinosi’s direction is astonishing A revelation Restraint, depth, unexpected (at times, almost stray) harmonies Brings out a gentle, warm, inward tenderness that arrests and delights. The tempi are spot on The orchestral unity, lightness and fluidity support Plath’s outstanding rendition. Such a fine German light woody reverberant bassoon sound Perfect reed! The Larghetto is breathtakingly beautiful. So lyrical. Always surprising. 👏👏👏👏 Merci infiniment 🙏🏼🕯🕯🙏🏼 Paris
A beautiful bassoon concerto just as all the other dozens and dozens of bassoon concerti that Signore Vivaldi wrote. I love them all! The soloist and the orchestra are simply wonderful.
this is truly wonderful a much more restrained and soulful performance of this well known Vivaldi composition - Theo plus the Frankfurt Radio Orchestra WOW a whole new domension - who says you can't bring in a new interpretation - remarkable.
I am a super-fan of Vivaldi and the beauty of the bassoon sound. BUT in this piece, Vivaldi has given too much role to the orchestra and I would have loved... MORE bassoon. Personal preference, of course. Maybe Mozart did it more to my liking: ruclips.net/video/PYOPQuhdoQM/видео.htmlsi=ZLfwN5hRaevxYyQs But note| BOTH bassoon players are equally great!!! The only difference in in the composer...
Splendid playing... with ridiculous choreography and facial expressions. During some phrases he was shaking is head "no" with every note. That can't be necessary. Gorgeous tone though; simply luscious, and with that core of plaintiveness I look for in the bassoon timbre. I think the harpsichordist played broken chords too slowly occasionally. It was distracting.
Hardly anything in music is ever necessary, the head shake is a pretty common thing even for string soloists, it's just an expressive exertion of the extra energy you build up with your virtuosity. However I do agree about the harpsichord, those chords were quite distracting in mvt I

The sound of a bassoon somehow conveys a depth of emotion with just the slightest playful lightheartedness.
Oh oui ! Et le mouvement lent : une splendeur ! Platt est un grand artiste.

Love to watch him!!
Perfectly stated 👌
That’s exactly it
Movingly paradoxical
Tragi-comique
@@constantquestioning4010 Your comment encapsulates the mysterious behind the bassoon.
Gluck, Monteverdi, Bach, Haendel, Purcell, etc etc etc
Theo Plath is incredible

The timeless genius of Vivaldi, the progenitor of the concerto and one of its great masters.
The new face of solo bassoon. Brilliant

Why do you say « extinction »?

Flawless technique. Interesting and very unorthodox interpretation.
Que bonito 😌🙂 👌 gracias por compartir esta pieza
Magnífico Vivaldi. Me encanta este concierto. Qué genialidad. Sus intérpretes me parecen de primer orden. El solista fetén.
This concerto is the most beautiful bassoon concerto from Vivaldi, the Larghetto is wonderful!!
Fantástico!!!

Please play more Antonio Vivaldi concertos, the violin concertos.
Yeah, like there isn't fifty trillion recordings of those
Belo concerto.
Omg imagine him with a baroque orchestra that specializes in this music.
This performance is the best one I've seen of this concerto by a very long shot, including those done by hardcore baroque ensembles.
*The kontrabass here is superfluous. I can`t to hear the squeak of iron on iron near the woodwind instrument*
You mean double bass?
