    I really appreciate this video. Our family just converted to Orthodoxy on Theophany this year. About 2-3 years ago, we were Anglicans who were increasingly concerned with very clear false teachings entering the church. When we began to learn from the Orthodox, things became so clear and we realized the church was diseased like you mentioned in this video. It was not a happy parting at the time. But Orthodoxy has completely changed our lives. We are so thankful to God to have found the Orthodox Church.

    I’m a catechumen in the US that has left the Anglican Church. There was nothing wrong with my church, they split from the main Anglican body way back in the early 2000’s. I just felt something was missing and I didn’t want to be associated with anything Anglican, even though my church did not participate in this mess. I found Orthodoxy and I am fully convinced it is the true faith. I was raised up as evangelical/non-denominational (lots of charismatic emphasis such as tongues and prophecy). Grew disgusted over time with the emphasis on gifts as I realized St. Paul pointed out that gifts are lower than virtues such as charity and mercy. Went to Reformed beliefs like Calvinism, couldn't wrap my head around predestination and unconditional grace. Went to Trad Catholicism, saw contradictions and problems and became Orthodox. Tbh, I'm glad I had those experiences because I can understand why people hold onto these false beliefs and practices.

    Simply brilliant, Father! And I don’t mean, ‘academically.’
    The world is devolving at the speed of light it seems. I am old; the world I grew up in has long since vanished. The mask is completely off now and we see the face of evil bursting forth, night and day.
    Truly, in today’s world, the lie has become the truth and Truth☦️ a lie. America, I fear, is standing at the gates of Hell..begging to enter.
    RE: the sparkle queen.
    Her remarks deliver like a Saturday Night Live parody. It actually took my brain a minute or two to register that the sacrilege spewing forth was not being offered up with comedic intent. Next, I thought: Lord have mercy…there are people in her audience who are totally onboard with-what shall I call it-her club’s mission statement. The whole thing would be laughable, but it’s not: Satan has sprung forth and is attempting to devour souls, in mass (pun intended).

    A lot of people don't believe me when I talk about how wacky Protestantism, even the Mainline and Conservative Branches, have gotten in the last 20 years.
    John MacArthur's Lingoneer folks released a survey that most Protestants already hold to some sort of Christological Heresy, whether knowingly or unknowingly we don't know.

    On the "Public schools are preferable to Protestant and Catholic schools" subject:
    - Public schools are more Woke than the average Protestant/Catholic school (Especially when you exclude Mainline Protestant schools).
    - Public schools are likelier than Private schools to have "demographic issues" that tend to cause violence, bullying, drug abuse, and low trust.
    Sounds like homeschool is the way to go if it's feasible for a family. But let's be honest here not everyone can do that and we can't just keep pulling the Conservative strategy of running away from neighborhoods, schools, etc. and trying to isolate from the world. Even most monasteries weren't really islands and still were influenced by the society around them. Eventually we're going to have to take back the mainstream culture and institutions rather than run away.

    Something I have wondered: there is one sin that is described as unforgivable that is to blaspheme the holy Spirit. I have asked others what that means because it is unclear. I thought having doubt in my younger days was the unforgivable sin. From what I can tell the holy Spirit is to guide us to the path of God. If man is not to have doubt then he would not need a guide. I see now doubt is not unforgivable. However, the holy spirit has guided these people to God and now they change his story and his word. Are these examples of the unforgivable sin?

    • @living_orthodox
      @living_orthodox  Год назад +9

      Yes. What constitutes blasphemy against the Holy Spirit as unforgivable, is that it is ultimately the willful rejection of the life giving grace of God and the forgiveness that one receives through repentance. When one blasphemes the Holy Spirit their heart hardens and the grace of God cannot find its way in easily. It can be forgiven if with tears, one repents and seeks forgiveness and no longer rejects the grace of God. But that is very rare once the demonic passions have arisen to the point of boiling as it has with so many.

      To add what Father said above, I remember Deacon Ananias answering this question years ago saying blasphemers hate the Lord and do not want to be forgiven, so the Lord respecting their free will does not forgive them.
