I was brought up, born and raised RC. I am 59 and so all I have known is Vatican II. What we of my generation need, who have woken up to what we were never taught, is compassion, comfort and LOTS of prayer. We are wrecked, spiritually AND emotionally. I found the Orthodox Church about a year ago and it bittersweet. JOY at what I found, and profound loss at what I have missed. So when you encounter one of us who are hurting wandering souls, please be kind. The grief is very real. God Bless. and Thank you.

9 years ago, I wondered why I had not found the Orthodox Church when I was young. I was very saddened by what I missed, too. It is a long story, but now it makes so much sense that it brings me to tears.

Yes Orthodox be kind. There are thousands of RC's that don't agree with the hierarchy in our Church and everything I even consider your church I hear nothing but uncharitable slants and this has always kept me from proceeding further. Focus on what is good in your own. We RC are not all evil and agree with sinful views but love the Lord.

My journey to Orthodoxy came through realizing one day that I wasn't insane and that everything was as bad as I thought it was. This also came with the understanding that there was a path to true resistance against the demonic presence in modern society. I knew Christ was that answer but did not know His Church yet. However, I knew quickly Latin Heterodoxy wasn't it. They clearly don't believe in the infallibility of The Word of God. I then turned to random KJV Onlyists on RUclips because they respected the Word of God (even if they misunderstood it) and called out the demonic presence in the modern world. Then I asked myself how the canon of scripture even came to be, let alone the one that excludes the Deuterocanon as 'Apocrypha' which is when I properly looked for where the Apostolic Church was. Orthodoxy is the answer to it all, you don't have to be crazy but you can still see. You don't have to be evil to fight evil. Every action and symbol has meaning but it isn't some perennialist larp. Discovering the Saints has helped me answer many questions about myself.

I am in the middle of my grieving process now. I joined the Catholic Church because I thought it was the one true church. I grew up Baptist and later became Reformed. After a year in the church, I looked around at the way things were, and quiet Lee was troubled. Then Francis started spouting all of his new heresies and outright rebellion to even with the Catholic Church teaches. I couldn’t believe my ears at first. I knew he was a liberal, but I didn’t expect him to so blatantly walk away from church teaching. I had become a Catholic trad by this point, and I knew that what he was teaching flew in the face of everything that I had learned even in RCIA. This summer, I stopped, going to mass and started attending Divine Liturgy. The road to Orthodoxy has not been simple for me (a lot to unlearn), but it is a sure and study foundation. I look forward to watch the Church could will teach me, but I still mourn the loss of my Catholic faith. I was so sure that I had landed in the right place. I am now an Orthodox catechumen.
Update: I was baptized 2 weeks ago!

Thank you for these videos. I am a catechumen to Orthodoxy from Roman Catholicism. This video is true, especially unfortunately the part about the nuns. Prior to becoming a catechumen to Orthodoxy, Glory to God, I came out of witchcraft primarily Tarot reading. After going to confession (Roman Rite) I sought out a convent that did counseling (Roman Catholic nuns). When I called and explained that I would like counseling with my problem of Tarot involvement, I was told not to worry that one of the nuns there reads Tarot. I was also told that there was a nun who did Reiki. I looked into it and apparently there are a lot of R.C. nuns that use Tarot for meditation and guidance. I was so disheartened after talking to the nuns. One of the things that led me back to Christianity was that I began having bad experiences and felt the Tarot was causing it. When the nun told me that you can use the Tarot for good purposes, I was left very confused. At that time, Glory to God, I was finishing up my herbal studies in natural health and came upon a school owned by an Orthodox priest. He led me to Orthodoxy and now I am a catechumen. On another point, I read recently that 60% of Orthodox youth are getting involved in Tarot reading and don't see it as a contradiction to their faith. I would love to see a video on it because I truly believe the Tarot is dangerous.

"Know that YAHUAH is the name of the Most High and YAHUsha is the name of The Son.

One more comment. Father I used to work for U-Haul and the most common mistake our renters made while transporting with an additional trailer was improper connection to the tail-hitch on the moving truck. Make sure you connect those chains properly and plug that brake light in, and at every stop check those connections. If they are doing their job properly they will inform you of this and not just show you how to connect the trailer to the truck. Everything should be gravy after that. God Bless!

I will weep like a child, while doing so, but I will have to.

That’s a nonsense argument. Breaks in communion aren’t schism and the orientals (according to the revisionist view of the RCC), would be your problem as their schism occurs as a result of the 4th ecumenical council.

I was actually raised both Catholic and Orthodox..my father was Polish and my mother Russian..so they tried to appease both sides..I'm a faithful Russian Orthodox Christian now, but with all do respect, and I do have all deference and honor towards yours and your holy office...but to talk about how the Catholic Church was complicit in working in concert with not the most noble of intentions with temporal powers and not mentioning the east and the ceasaropapism that occurred, with many stories of not so noble actions from people high in the Church, working with the government to meet purely selfish and scandalous agendas..then this took on a very severe form when Peter "The Great" abolished the Patriarchate and basically made the Church part of his government, like a cabinet..in all humility if I'm wrong, a thousand Gospodi Pomiliuj and please correct me and tell me where I'm wrong..again no disrespect..love your videos, get a lot from them, and God bless your priesthood and you as a priest and your Matushka

      May God bless you.
One cannot be both Orthodox and Catholic. The elevation of the Palamite synods to ecumenical (universal status) literally makes that impossible aside from the many other issues. Ceasropapism doesn’t apply to the east. That’s a term that explicitly describes the attempted assertion of power on the part of the Roman pontiff. I am glad you like the content but I will say, I think you may not understand this issue to the depth required to try and refute what is plain to see in Papism. It’s heresy. Ultimately, I cannot cover the breadth of history in a video this length and that isn’t the point of it. There will also be a “but this, or that”. The content is exactly what it presents itself to be and I have certainly been honest about our own problems.

@@living_orthodox father I do sincerely apologize and meant no disrespect at all..and I'm aware that one can not be both Catholic and Orthodox at the same time..I was simply stating what my parents were trying to do to make both sides of the family happy..I received the sacraments/mysteries in both Churches and respectively we went both to the Polish Church and the Russian Church...while my parents may have had good intentions, I do admit it was objectively unwise and even heretical..but ultimately I'm a practicing Russian Orthodox Christian in ROCOR along with my wife and two kids now and have been for years now, even though ive been objectively Russian Orthodox from birth. Also I may not understand quite a bit of stuff, but ultimately while trying to remain humble, I feel as if I am quite knowledgeable in Church matters and history..probably not as much as you Father, and especially not comparable to theologians with doctorates etc...that said, while I feel, and I may be wrong in this, that I'm at least semi-knowledgeable in ecclesiastical matters and history, I always have had a tough time expressing and articulating myself..and again I'm so sorry if I sounded insulting or being irreverent..God bless and the angels protect you and your matushka!!!☦️

The decline of the official Church began when John XXIII refused to obey our Mother of Fatima's instruction to reveal the 3rd secret. Today we are facing the end game. It is still being argued whether an apostate who wants to destroy the Church can be a legitimate pope. It is an irony of history that the Christian Occient can only be saved by the African cardinals. They have always had strong representatives. In my time, it was Cardinal Gantin, whom we already feared somewhat, but thought highly of. We regretted that he did not become pope. He would have destroyed the gay mafia and the freemasonry in the Vatican without hesitation
