Very nice video. I just bought a Dr.Trainer Dog Training Collar for my German shepherd. This Training Collar has auto retractable and will not cause irritation to my dog's neck. Also I can record my voice to the system, I can use my voice recording to train my dog, say goodbye to the traditional beep sound for good. So far it seems really effective. All I do is pressing the voice recording button to correct my dogs behavior. We hardly have to use the shock setting.

You said those land birds can hit the ground running. Boy I've got a story. My dad was hunting in Virginia and he got a Turkey but when he went to pick it up it got up and bolted so required another shot.

It was a little difficult to see in the video but a couple shots appeared to be very close to the dog because of low flying birds. At what age will you start teaching steady to wing and shot or will you? I find this is very important to help prevent a dog from being shot by a over anxious hunter. It also helps the dog better mark a down bird. Dog looks good for her age. Having the dog hold the bird for a few seconds before you take the bird I believe is very important at this age. Do you agree? I like that you have taught the dog with the vibrate mode when using the 'hear' command. I seldom teach the vibrate but should. I have found my English Setters can learn to easily understand 20 or so voice commands but keep them down to about 10 or 12. When looking for a cripple I keep up a all most constant chatter of saying 'dead' and/or 'dead bird'. My reason is, it keeps the dog looking and not out hunting. Do you use hand signals?

    Hi
I enjoyed your video watching it several times. I can say it is very educative. In this point can you please say something more about this vibration mode as it is completely unknown to me. Does it provides positive stimulation to the dog under training like telling him/her "now your are actually doing something good?
    Best regards,
    G

It's my understanding that the vibration isn't "positive" rather a reminder that if you obey (return to the handler) the vibration will stop, but if you don't obey, something even more unpleasant, a shock, is eminent. It could be interpreted as something positive if the dog is rewarded when he returns, gets a treat or a "good boy" but that's usually not how it's used. It's usually used in conjunction with the stimulus (shock) if the dog doesn't obey. The vibration mode, often called the pager, is good for deaf dogs, but not really necessary otherwise because the stimulus (shock), which has an adjustable setting, can be used instead. So when teaching the dog to return, the handler activates the stimulus, on low (annoying, but not painful) continuous mode until the dog returns. The dog quickly learns that returning to the handler removes that annoying feeling. The whole premise of the collar is that the reward is the removal of the stimulus. Some people think the vibration works differently, but I beg to differ. I can't imagine the vibration being pleasant. I could be wrong.

What brand of E-Collar do Yall use / recommend. I’m getting a GSP and I’m looking for a good collar that won’t break the bank 🏦. I’m also considering a GPS Tracking / Training Collar but again, I’m not sure which one is best for me.

I love these guys, but beeper collars are annoying. Spend the extra money and get a GPS collar and never worry where your dog is. DT systems doesn't make one or they would be telling you to use that. Its just business...Garmin owns the market in this sector...But again these guys are great
