As a small retail Tesla investor, we need to have better customer service when it comes to this stuff, getting a new car needs to be a better experience than this
Yes. Especially this far into it. I bought mine in 2020 and I had 8 service center trips the first year. I still have a window rattle that was never fixed because they couldn't reproduce it. Still sad that it's still going on in 2024. No excuse Tesla.
The expectation for build quality seems a little bit unreasonable though. This is a Tesla not a Lexus -- surely poor build quality in a Tesla is to be expected, given people buy them anyway despite their quality reputation? 🤔 Other cheaply made American cars (e.g., Ford Mustang) are the same for misaligned panels and poor fitting trim, it's just how they are. It's not like buying a car made in Japan or Germany. The only way there would be a motivation to improve if there were no orders (i.e., that having a reputation for paint and good assembly was important for securing sales) -- but they have plenty of orders, so why should they improve? Having stricter quality checks would surely clog up the factory with vehicles needing rework and slow production down, no? 🙂
@@TassieLorenzo but think about the sales that would improve if their reputation did. I see countless comments on RUclips of people saying this is the reason they decided not to buy a Tesla.
Got my MP3 on 6/11 had to service it next day, 6/12 because I started hearing a rattle noise on the front dash driver seat. Sounded like static or like a lose screw in between the dashboard and ambient lighting. Thankfully the service center was able to fix it the next day. But still sucks to have to service your car within the same 24 hours of pick up. Will be on the lookout for any other issues that may arise of course now that you’ve had such a bad experience in less than 2 weeks.
I have both the 18” & the new performance & i have the same exact noise, i have a service appointment but i suspected that was the aeros so I couldn’t wait for the service appointment so i took the aeros off and the noise was gone. 👍 I believe the reason the noise is the metal part that goes inside the aeros isn’t clipping in all corners inside the aero shell so it makes those noises.
I’ve got my M3P June 1. There are uneven panel gaps for passenger doors and the left and the right sides of trunk, but I can live with these as I’m sure these are ‘within the spec’. But there is also a rattle noise coming from the dash, which disappears after some time of driving. I’m going to report it and hope I can reproduce it at the service.
My front splitter and rear defuser on pick up day was already damaged from bottoming out seemingly on the transporter trucks.. still waiting to get it fixed. Love the car so much, so happy still 😊
I have a four week old 2024 M3P that had the same aero cap sounds on all four wheels. I took it into the service center and they were able to fix it. However, it seems they added a lot of lube because it's spraying out everywhere when I drive. They also scratched up my wheel center cap so a mobile tech will come out to replace it. I'm not positive but I suspect someone at the service center took my car for a joy ride as there was 18 miles added to the odometer which is beyond a standard road test. I also had a driver side rattle from the dash. However, it seems like the service center was able to fix that. The car itself is pretty good. Panel gaps are even, paint is in good condition, LED strip is aligned, car doesn't pull to the right.
Picked up mine on 6/5, reported 6 things that needs to be addressed including a dented trunk lid and panel gap on the rear bumper. Earliest scheduled appointment was 6/26, which was 21 days after I took the delivery. I don't cound on them to fix all these issues, but hot damn they better fix that dent.
You’re right, service center experiences can make or break a persons vehicle ownership experience. Just know that it’s just not with Tesla. I have a bmw and a Tesla. At first my service experiences at the bmw dealer were great. However, within the last two years they have changed management and now it’s horrible and I don’t know if I want another bmw because I don’t want to have to take it there for service.
I’ve had my M3 Performance since 12/2018. The only problems I’ve had were a piece of gravel that got stuck behind a front brake rotor, a light rattle in the dashboard area, and an improperly installed trunk gasket and a spoiler edge that loosened up after 3 years. Tesla repaired all of these items promptly and courteously. I even had a loaner Model S well my car was in the shop. My service center is in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. This car is by far the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. And as a result, I have a new 2024 Model 3 Performance on order.
Bro I sad to hear your frustration but your pain, ringing bells to me,to the point I might just pass because I see alot ish with company b4 I even got car,so thx 4 vid,a brand new car I would think shouldn’t have no problem at all
At the time of delivery, i thoughly when through the outside, inside and bottom of my car filming with my smartphone. Every detail has been recorded in the event tesla pulls any BS in case of a future warranty claim.
That's really unfortunate that you've had those issues and worse that your service center seems not great! I'm lucky that the two service centers I've used around Chicago have been good at honoring warranty work. I'm bringing my 24 M3P next Friday for them to install Homelink, but also review the same inconsistency in the turn buttons and a door alignment, so we'll see if they're still on it. For your car, here's to hoping another service center treats you better, as it's an excellent vehicle and your videos are entertaining and honest
I’ve had mine for about 3 weeks now. So far no issues besides a couple of small pinhole paint defect on the trunk. They gave me a few options to either repaint it, fill it in, or accept a service credit. Hopefully they’ll resolve your issues
Thank you for posting this video and spreading awareness. I have 2 Teslas and I love them both. But you are absolutely correct about the customer experience with the service centers. They have not made any significant improvements. They are a nightmare to deal with and you are guilty until proven innocent every time you take your car in for any issues.
I love people pointing out issues. You pay that much stuff should be top notch. It forces Tesla to continuously improve. I'm hoping to order a performance soon. They need to increase their specs, not try to cheap out by shifting blame and improve quality and service if they're going to be #1. It's people like you who make it possible for them.
Oh man Tesla just sucks when it comes to service :( my model S had so many small isuses when i got mine, it was even super dirty.... Hope they fix everything! Don't give up. I think to many people don't stand up and Tesla gets away with it.
Yo! Got my 2024 performance 2 weeks ago and had the same exact sound coming from my wheels. I noticed it going through a drive through the first time. I ended up taking the aero caps off 2 days ago to see how the car looked. The sound is gone so I am 99% sure it's the aero caps and the metal bracket that sits behind them making the sound. Kinda of sucks.
Sorry for your bad experience. Have an order in for 2024 M3P and making a checklist (with input from your video and others) of things to scrutinize when the car is finally ready. Delivery date range has been postponed twice (I hope, to address quality issues). Current range is August to early September.
My Experience with my 24 model 3 performance has been awful so far. 1 issue was after about a week of ownership the windshield washer fluid some how damaged the gloss panel behind the mirror. Then I have had a rattle and had the Mobile service came out and they ended up ripping the rubber weather stripping and cracking my ac housing where the rattle was coming from. Going on 2 months of ownership and 400 miles…
Lets be honest. These issues are very minor. The aero cover is not a big issue. Let them resolve it and move on. The bumper is a little wonkey, but not very noticable. My Audi drivers door has a very minor door trim misalignment that you can see, but like your bumper its not really a big deal. Driving on the highway..shit can happen and youd never know. Not really a deal breaker. Its's not blame...they are just not sure how it happened...and warrenty work does not cover road damage. Since your last car did not have that issue...its very likley something was run over and youd have no knowledge of it. Again, its not warrenty related. It did not leave the factory floor with a broken belly pan. All service centers have their ups and downs. Sorry thats the truth. I know you said BMW was amazing...however I have to state that tons of forums have terrible things to say about BMW build and service. Lets be honest please. All service centers can be good and bad. The overwhelming majority seems to be doing fine. Don't forget this is a new design and a few bumps are bound to pop up...its part of the growing process. The vehicle is mechanically sound and the software is stable. Aside from some minor irritaions you appear to want to keep the car...that tells the viewers a lot. It says you really like the car. Once these bumps are smoothed out you will look back and just giggle. Dont sweat the little things, they will workout themselves out and youll be happy.
Well said. I really like to drive cars. Enthusiastically because I feel the physics right there, it is like a tool for me. Hence I bought a new Mazda RX8 Revo, long ago. Believe me, it shocked me as I saw a minor painting issue on the driver-side rear door on day one at home that perhaps happened by oversea transport. This was fixed day two and all was fine. I grew up with the car, and I really felt soon that nothing else than the driving mattered because the car was really well engineered and produced. Driving it has been crazy since day one. And I realized that more (concerning) issues will pop up simply from driving on the road. So I got relaxed and just enjoyed the DNA of that car. Seems now it was a learning curve to me.
Exactly what I wanted to say. It's a car, not jewelry. I have my BMW 330e and guess what? Not all panels are perfectly aligned. Sometimes there are strange noices. It's just a car, sometimes you can run over a small dent, may hardly notice it, but can cause damage.
His comment about BMW made me almost fall out of my chair. I had two BMW and both were terrible in terms of reliability and dealership experience. I was warned but I decided to jump in and man did I regret it.
I agree but compared to other brands like BMW, Mercedes etc. Tesla's Service is literally trash and that's a fact. Their cars are way better tho especially when it comes down to quality/price ratio + software.
Yeah I know it has to do with the Aero Covers (I mentioned this in the video). It's still unacceptable however to put Aero Covers on a car that doesn't function well. Otherwise whats the point?
@@sun-manyou’re not understanding the main issue here. Many of these problems shouldn’t be happening in the first place. Even though Tesla’s QC has improved, it is still absolutely horrific.
Jacob, I had an original 2018 Model 3 (less than 10K serial number) and fortunately had very few issues (but I tend to overlook things that would drive others crazy). I just recieved my new performance model 3, and I will have to accept that this is the first year they are producing it. Quality issues are very typical with every car manufacturer in the first year. That being said, the problem seems to be the service people NOT believing the complaints. That is what I find unacceptable. Good luck in resolving these issues. I know you just want to enjoy your new car.
I don’t know what the US factories are doing with these cars, but we get the Chinese built models here in Australia and both my model y and 3 are near flawless…
Hey Jacob, I also switched my order from long range to performance, went with blue with black interior qualified for tax credit, took delevery 5 days ago. Yes when your standing outside the car and it drives away the wheels man a noise like yours, aluminum can with marbles in it. The only other issue is the trim light on the driver door dose not line up with the light trim on the dash. I'm taking it in today for both issues. So far my wife and I love the car! Sound system is excellent, suspension is great. I don't hear a button click for the turn signal but it hasn't stuck either. Time will tell how the long term experience will be. Keep up the great posts.
@@salmanshah9245 At the time I placed my order the model 3 performance was $2000 less than it is now and the white interior cost $1500. Now you have to buy with grey paint to qualify but can add the white interior if you like. Also they resolved the sound from the wheels by adding felt tape to the wheel inserts, the sound is now gone. The light trim on the dash just needed to be pushed down so a clip connected...problem solved. My experience with Tesla Service in Raleigh was very good.
I am driving a highland LR in Asia made from shanghai and there have been no issue. I have also have not heard of any significant issues among the Tesla community here. The US made Tesla seem to have a lot of build quality issues.
It might be the California made vehicles. Maybe they have a very bad attitude. Maybe the Texas plant builds better cars and they shut down the Fremont plant.
You're not alone. I had a model 3 performance from Feb 2023. I had a million issues with it but the major one was steering wheel vibrations. I had screaming matches with the service centres. Eventually I lawyered up and Tesla settled out of court for a buyback under the lemon law. I swore to God that I will never buy a tesla again, until I saw the new Performance lol. Now I'm scared shit like this happening again if I were to buy it. Thanks for your videos. I'm happy to provide more documentation and information about my year from hell with a M3P
I just bought my 1st EV/Tesla in Feb. A used 2021 M3 LR from my local Tesla dealership. 2 weeks in, the drivers side wiper stopped working in the middle of a rain storm. Had to pull over and wait for the rain to stop before I could drive again. Scheduled an home appointment that was 2 weeks out. The tech came and said he couldn’t get the wiper off because it was screwed on with a drill when it should’ve been done by hand which is why it didn’t work. The wiper was screwed on too tight and he didn’t have the tool so I went to a service center that same day and they fixed it in less than 20 minutes…2 weeks later it stopped working again. I drove it back to the same center with no appointment really frustrated and they saw me right away. Turns out the washer for the wiper was completely worn out and should’ve been replaced when they “fixed” it the 1st time. Fast forward to last week…The wiper on the passenger side stopped working. Took it to the same service center and they again saw me right away. This time they had to replace entire windshield wiper mechanism. So far so good but I will say to have a used car, if the ONLY problems I’m having is wiper issues that I don’t have to pay for to get fixed, it’s a pretty good deal for the car of my dreams and the service center team I go to has been top notch and professional
If you're able to drive the car a bit while you're filling out that sheet, then it's a good idea. Also, basically be very through, check every possible thing you can think of. That's a good tip and I know now how important it is. I'll likely buy one at some point. i would be able to charge it free at work every day so my commute would always be free all year long. That's kinda nice.
Thanks for the video. I’m thinking about cancelling my m3p order even though I can’t get my $250 back. And your video helps me to go ahead and cancel the order.
This is crazy that your going through this with a brand new car !! Everything should be covered under 4 yr warranty bumper to bumper. It’s starts with management, they should have fixed everything for you under warranty!! I’m suppose to be picking up a new car soon. Makes me not want to get another Tesla 😡 Your right you spent a lot of money and have the right to speak up!!
As to your turn signal getting stuck, my turn signal has always gotten stuck when I turn left into a parking lot and then park. The signal continues indicating a left-hand turn until I get back in the car and drive away.
Sorry for your experience. I have an 18 month old Model Y and my wife has a 6 month old Model Y. We've had zero problems. They've been perfect. I don't know what a Service Center is like, but the one closest to me has good reviews.
I think he’s referring to lemon law’s which are state specific. Under that if you are sold a vehicle which is not “fit for purpose” the manufacturer can be forced to purchase the car back from you. Of course it’s much easier when the manufacturer themselves agrees that they’ve “sold you a lemon” and agrees to repurchase the vehicle. If they do not agree to do this, then you have to get lawyers involved…
You have the right to decline the car. That's why it's important not to sign until you inspect. They will try to get you to sign right away. I wish I had waited. If you don't sign you can decline delivery and wait for another one.
I have had some issues with both of my Teslas. I have a 2021 Model 3 Performance and 2022 Model Y Long Range. Both have had issues with the speakers. My Model 3 had the amplifier go out within the first week of ownership. Model Y had the rear speaker on the trunk sounding distorted on delivery. Model 3 was an easy fix. But my Y needed three service trips because they couldn’t figure out what was wrong. I told them it sounded like it was coming from the rear. First trip they replaced the amplifier, second trip they replaced the entire rear door panel speaker. Finally on the third trip they replaced the rear trunk speaker. The Y also needed to have the charge port door replaced as it wasn’t opening, mobile service was able to do that one. My Model 3 also had issues with water accumulating in the trunk. Which also needed three service trips before it was fixed. The good thing is the service center in San Diego was always very nice, helpful, and accommodating. One tip I learned from so many trips is if you book the latest time on a Friday, you’ll pretty much be guaranteed a loaner vehicle that you can keep until Monday.
What a horrible experience, I am reconsidering getting one now. Current BMW leaser the past 10 years, super awesome service, and never ever had any issues with any of their vehicles.
This is exactly the reason why I wish you could actually test drive the damn car before taking delivery of it. Once you accept the car, it’s your problem . Sucks
Just got back from the service center. My aeroblades are what make that sound like cans dragging across the ground. Service center guy told me they will break in and if after a month they don’t get better, they may replace them or remove them altogether. I think I may just remove the blades myself. You can recreate the sound by putting a bit of pressure with your hands or feet on the blades. Sounds like you maybe just have one or two caps that are misaligned or scraping. Super annoying.
That is a long list of issues and some are substantial. Isn't the Model 3 in the US still produced in Fremont? That would explain a lot because Fremont is just a very much sub-par factory. It is in quality by far the worst of all Tesla factories globally. Here in Europe, we get the Model 3 from China. Disadvantage is that it comes with an LG (8.8kWh) battery instead of a Panasonic 82 kWh battery and the Performance is less performant than the US model. BUT the built quality is excellent. No way near the terrible quality out of Fremont. Tesla centers seem to have very very different quality around the globe. In Germany, many complain, while in the Czech Republic the centers are excellent. Good that you do not just tell the good things but also problems. We do not need more pink-glassed Fanboys but objective car owners like you!
My C63 lease is up next May and this is the #1 car I am considering other than buying my C63. This really sucks to hear. I have heard a lot of nightmares with Tesla service, as well as people who have had 0 issues. To be honest though, a buyback is an awesome possibility. I would love to drive a car for a year and get all my money back! I've seen it done with Mercedes too and I've always been jealous, lol.
I feel you on the undertray issue.. the two main nuts were loose and as i drove it they became loose and caused enough air drag that it broke one of the mounting ears and this happened after 100 miles so i just didnt want to argue with them because they are stubborn as a mule My advice is forget that plastic bs and buy an aluminum one so it never breaks again
Thank you for pointing out these issues and the poor service Tesla provides to its customers. Please try to put pressure on them otherwise they will not improve. My sister let them try to fix a problem on a new model Y after the third attempt the problem was still there and she gave the car back to Tesla after one week of ownership. Unfortunately, a lawyer had to fight Tesla to get the money back and it took him almost six months to get the money back.
I have a November 2021 Model 3 Performance and recently replaced the stock 20" wheels and low-profile tires with 19" wheels and tires with slightly more sidewall. I did this after my third tire blowout (not just a flat) and second cracked wheel. In the past six months I have hit two potholes, the first causing the blowout of the two right tires and the second cracking the right rear wheel, a problem I did not diagnose right away due to it manifesting itself as a slow leak (like the first cracked wheel a couple of years ago). The 20" wheel super low-profile tire setup is just not reliable, something confirmed by a helpful Tesla service center specialist. Otherwise, I like the car, but others should know that the stock setup is not reliable, unless you can avoid all potholes.
M3P is such a clean car but these notorious quality issues and bad service and long repair times is what keeps me away :( Also the low range but I think if the other issues were non existent I would overlook the low range. Sorry to hear you're having such a difficult time.
Thanks for hi-lighting this, your right you spend your hard earned money you would expect a good level of service. If I get one I’ll be videoing every angle of the car and how it drives.
Next week I'm going to the service center for the 5th time within 5 months. Creaks and cracks. Got a new driver's seat which now creaks as well (after 2 weeks), vibration in steering wheel, creaky arm rest. Despite the nice ride, I think the 2024 model is worse then the 2020.
Little issues like this are not unusual on very early production cars from any manufacturer. Annoying for sure, but reality. On the other hand, I picked up a Model Y Dual Motor from Austin a few months ago, and it is perfect, paint, fit, and operation. Luck of the draw, but you should have been treated better at the service center, for sure, to make it all right on a new production car.
Wow what an awful experience, no excuse for this. Hopefully this is just an issue with this one specific service center. When I got my model 3 a few years ago it had quite a few minor issues with various rattles around the car. It was frustrating and took many trips to the service center before getting them all fixed but I was always treated well and they did fix every issue with no push back. The service technician even thanked me for the detailed recordings I took saying it helped them fix other cars as well. I really hope this is an isolated issue with this particular center and not a general decline in service quality. Best of luck with your car, hopefully you manage to get everything fixed to your satisfaction so you can just enjoy the awesome car you bought!
I ordered a 2024 MP3 Performance in the 1st hour that it was announced. My delivery date just keeps getting pushed back and back. Buying a Tesla is the worst car buying experience I’ve ever had. It sounds like this is only the being of the terrible Tesla experience. I think I might just stick with Toyotas…
Any updates? Picked mine up 2 weeks been perfect except for the clicking rim noise and some rattle inside but both goes away after driving the car for 10 mins.
For that “front undertray” aka skid plate, for $245 you’re better off getting an aftermarket aluminum skid plate as it protects the underside of your car better. Those stock tesla plates are made of soft resin and easily breaks. Just a heads up.
My new 24 m3p has a bubble in the roof lamination and was missing a center cap on the rear wheel. I reported it the day i picked it up with me luck July 9th at my service center!
My S was in a minor collision, got fixed with new skirt, rear bumber, etc in 3 weeks. I could see a major repair taking a month or even 2, but i guess it depends on where you live and whether you take it to a Tesla authorized repair center. That said, i ordered a windshield for a model y that showed in stock, and it literally took a month for delivery. I was kinda expecting 2 or 3 days, so that sucked.
I recently had a RDU replaced under warranty in my MS. I had a great experience. They gave me a loaner, and had it fixed in a day. They aired up all the tires, as one was low and even plugged it in to charge until I was able to pick it up. Also, I purchased a new LV battery for my M3 and they carried out to the car for me. It wasn’t heavy and I could have, but just great service
In Australia waiting to take delivery 21-30th June. After the many complaints iv seen, come delivery day theres no way ill be driving home if it doesn't pass my inspection. They can fix it first. Lucky im making final payment on Delivery day ;) I hope you start to love your M3P again brother. I still believe they are a really nice car but feel its a lottery game still..
I took delivery of the same spec. There was obvious touch up paint on a side skirt! Looked really obvious. This is really unacceptable. I love the car but damn.
Hey man! I hate to hear you’re having this experience with your brand new Tesla! Interestingly enough, I’m having the exact same issue with that clicking/creaking noise in 22 M3P particularly at low speeds and when I turn my wheel to the left. My service center is great but I’ll be visiting them for the 3rd time this. Week. 1st time-memorial day weekend, low staff but was suggested that it was the control arm that needed replacement 2nd time- I let them know based on the previous advisor recommendation that my control arm needed replacement but they changed the upper control arm which apparently wasn’t the issue(but at least I got a new one 🤷🏽). They did leave me a message upon picking up my car letting me know that it was more than likely the lower control arm and to make another appt. All the is inconvenience of time all has been free since I’m still under 50,000miles .3rd times a charm. This was apparently a known issue as well a few years back with Model 3’s too, so hopefully it’s a simple free fix for you!
very informative video; thank you 🙏🏾 i was thinking of getting this car. i really hope they fix all the issues with your M3P especially after this video it wouldn’t be a good look!
Appreciate your objective view and honesty. I totally feel the same, the customer service is trash, total trash! But if everything is good and you're not so unlucky like you the cars are insane for the quality/price ratio. And software obviously
Thanks for the heads up! I’ll get my m3p this Tuesday. I live in Holland so it’s from giga Shanghai. My experience with SC’s is ok. Guess I’m lucky, cause also in Holland there are a lot of people dissatisfied with Tesla SC’s. A lot of issues are ‘within specs’. Totally unacceptable. Still I like my 2019 M3 LR so I stick with Tesla for now . Good luck, hopefully you’ll enjoy your car after the issues are fixed.
Picked up my 24 M3P on the 31st of last month, and I have 1 noticable panel gap that I’m not even gonna try and have them fix because ik they’ll say it’s “within spec” so I haven’t reported that, I do have a problem with the Vents when I move them quickly it makes a noise I think the vents are rubbing against something, and last issue is the passenger side window switch is leaned to the left, both things I have a service appointment with and hopefully they’ll be able to fix it and not blame me or try and make me pay for it it should all be under warranty 🤞 still love the car though all that stuff is stuff I can live with
Yikes, can't imagine spending $50k on a car to have all these issues... Tesla service is disappointing. My Model 3's steering wheel isn't completely straight when driving straight and they basically said they can't fix it
Can’t fix the STEERING WHEEL not being straight!? What a bunch of BS they are giving you. It’s a simple matter of alignment involving the tie rod ends at the front wheels. You undo a lock nut on each tie rod end and rotate one in, the other out the same amount until the steering wheel is straight when you drive it. It probably involves rotating each one less than a turn each. This is NOT high-tech stuff, it’s basic car mechanics.
Geez man that sounds like a total nightmare. Wow, shame on Tesla for blaming customers and not properly fixing issues.
They're a bunch of liars. Those unprofessional clowns just don't want to fix it. Just like my squeaky window on rainy days.

Good luck. They only pretend to fix rattles & end up breaking other shit
Where was ur car manufactured? I heard the china plant has better QA
Jeremiah Jones on RUclips also had the turn signal button issue. Hoping this isn’t widespread and that it doesn’t happen to you again…
My personal anecdote, my turn signals work perfectly. Only had it a a week though.
My front splitter and rear defuser on pick up day was already damaged from bottoming out seemingly on the transporter trucks.. still waiting to get it fixed. Love the car so much, so happy still 😊
Why did you accept it?
They’re going to fix it 😊
I have a four week old 2024 M3P that had the same aero cap sounds on all four wheels.
Really appreciate this breakdown of all your issues. Thanks for walking through them I'm sure others might use this if they have the same issues
Thank you for your honesty, way too many RUclips’ers sugar coating everything.
On this channel I’d always be honest. I think that’s why ppl sub 🤷🏾♂️ lol
I feel like it's state dependent. in Cali it ain't it lol
I was looking at purchasing a Model 3 Performance and your video has really put me off in buying one 😞
Reading all the problems people are having in the comment section alone is crazy. I can see why tesla ranks so low on reliability.
Thank you for the kind words. Please make sure to come back to let me know how your experience goes.
Homelink is worth the money, super seamless
How much is the Homelink feature?
@@natew2031should be 300 to buy it not sure if this includes installation
@@natew2031 300 in app, but the SC is quoting 50 less to install it?
This is good to know. Gonna be taking mine of
Do not let the fan boys bully you. There's alot of people with same issues as you
Sorry for your bad experience. Have an order in for 2024 M3P and making a checklist (with input from your video and others) of things to scrutinize when the car is finally ready. Delivery date range has been postponed twice (I hope, to address quality issues). Current range is August to early September.
Dude, I’ll give you 5K for your lemon, that way you can move on and get a KIA 😂
My Experience with my 24 model 3 performance has been awful so far. 1 issue was after about a week of ownership the windshield washer fluid some how damaged the gloss panel behind the mirror. Then I have had a rattle and had the Mobile service came out and they ended up ripping the rubber weather stripping and cracking my ac housing where the rattle was coming from. Going on 2 months of ownership and 400 miles…
I 100% agree. Most of the service centers around me are just horrendous. For as long as I remember, Tesla always had issues with their service centers
Think about if they keep that low quality then everyone should do this reqpair which will be frustrading
I agree but compared to other brands like BMW, Mercedes etc. Tesla's Service is literally trash and that's a fact. Their cars are way better tho especially when it comes down to quality/price ratio + software.
Just took delivery of mine last week. Last night I went through a drive thru and heard this exact same sound. Any update?
New aero cover may be causing the sound. Remove them and check that fix the isseue or not
Yeah I know it has to do with the Aero Covers (I mentioned this in the video). It's still unacceptable however to put Aero Covers on a car that doesn't function well. Otherwise whats the point?
@@JacobGagoOfficial Put something inside the cover clips to stop the vibration. Make the clips tighter on the wheel. You can fix this yourself.
@@sun-manyou’re not understanding the main issue here. Many of these problems shouldn’t be happening in the first place. Even though Tesla’s QC has improved, it is still absolutely horrific.
@@Deizel187 Happens to all new versions, all brands of car
Some Tesla service people really suck
That’s because the regulations are a lot stricter. In the US Tesla has been able to navigate around that.
The ones built in Austin have little to no issues.
How did the performance qualify for the federal credit in a different color? Doesn't the price increase by $1-2k?
@@salmanshah9245 At the time I placed my order the model 3 performance was $2000 less than it is now and the white interior cost $1500. Now you have to buy with grey paint to qualify but can add the white interior if you like.
Also they resolved the sound from the wheels by adding felt tape to the wheel inserts, the sound is now gone. The light trim on the dash just needed to be pushed down so a clip connected...problem solved. My experience with Tesla Service in Raleigh was very good.
@@CBOtis2024 that's awesome. Thanks for letting me know.
I literally hovered over the order button today. Glad I waited.
Glad to help
If you're able to drive the car a bit while you're filling out that sheet, then it's a good idea. Also, basically be very through, check every possible thing you can think of. That's a good tip and I know now how important it is. I'll likely buy one at some point. i would be able to charge it free at work every day so my commute would always be free all year long. That's kinda nice.
Thanks for the video. I’m thinking about cancelling my m3p order even though I can’t get my $250 back. And your video helps me to go ahead and cancel the order.
please do, plenty of others waiting for this car and will gladly take your spot.
@@ashegam I’m happy about that. In fact, it would be miraculous if you took my spot🤣
Tesla service centers have been amazing for me. Can’t draw conclusions over a handful of other ppls experiences or from one service center
As to your turn signal getting stuck, my turn signal has always gotten stuck when I turn left into a parking lot and then park. The signal continues indicating a left-hand turn until I get back in the car and drive away.
Has it happened recently? I noticed mine stopped after a few updates.
im impressed by your patience…i would have returned the car if those happened to me.
I'm finally picking up my Tesla Model 3 performance tomorrow from the Burbank service center. Wish me luck 🤞
Sorry for your experience. I have an 18 month old Model Y and my wife has a 6 month old Model Y. We've had zero problems. They've been perfect. I don't know what a Service Center is like, but the one closest to me has good reviews.
I actually was going to buy the performance 3 but the customer service center steered me the wrong way
Im picking my M3P tomorrow, I didn't know there is a repurchase option, how does that work ?
Model Y had the rear speaker on the trunk sounding
distorted on delivery.
I hear the aero cap noise as well but only at super low speed. It seems to have gone way down too so maybe a break in for the metal clips.
What a horrible experience, I am reconsidering getting one now. Current BMW leaser the past 10 years, super awesome service, and never ever had any issues with any of their vehicles.
I'm looking to upgrade to a gas saver sedan, seeing this pushes me towards 2025 camry le AWD.
I can see why when you read some of this stuff. Now if only Toyota could build an equivalent electric car like the Model 3…
What a freaking nightmare
This is exactly the reason why I wish you could actually test drive the damn car before taking delivery of it. Once you accept the car, it’s your problem . Sucks
You have 100 mile after you take it.
@@dennisknehans3206 You sure about that
Just got back from the service center.
We do not need more pink-glassed Fanboys but objective car owners like you!
just canceled my m3p performance order. i think they need to work out some bugs - especially spending $55k+. thanks for the video.
I feel you on the undertray issue.. the two main nuts were loose and as i drove it they became loose and caused enough air drag that it broke one of the mounting ears and this happened after 100 miles so i just didnt want to argue with them because they are stubborn as a mule
My advice is forget that plastic bs and buy an aluminum one so it never breaks again
Thanks for sharing brother!
Check your rear drive shaft. A lot of people are saying they have an oil leak. Its possible they could have a recall 🤦🏽♂️
Sheesh my 2022 model 3 long range gave me no issues…. Just got my 2024 ultra red performance Thursday so far so good… hope she’s just as reliable
M3P is such a clean car but these notorious quality issues and bad service and long repair times is what keeps me away :( Also the low range but I think if the other issues were non existent I would overlook the low range. Sorry to hear you're having such a difficult time.
Appreciate it. Your concerns are beyond valid
Just ordered my 4th Tesla ( well 5th technically) and have had problems out of ALL of them!! I am leasing this one and will see how that goes.
I made it 30 seconds down the road after picking mine up before I got a service warning . It was my ac . They got it fixed in 2 days
Even so; 30 seconds of use??
I had a similar experience when I bought my Tesla in 2021. Multiple service center visits for a new car. Not going to buy it again.
That clicking sound is from the wheel "caps". Take off the big cap pieces and the sound will be gone.
Thank you for posting. It’s videos like these that have kept me from purchasing a Tesla.
The Tesla service center in Burbank is the absolute worst
Pushback from your viewers? No, thanks for your honest and balanced review...
You guys have been awesome. Was referring to those small weirdo critics 😂😂😂. Thanks for the feedback too.
Thank you for making this video. -_- I hope people avoid this service center
The rattling noise could be the metal hooks keeping the aero covers in place from inside the wheel. Maybe one is not completely in place?
I took delivery of the same spec. There was obvious touch up paint on a side skirt! Looked really obvious. This is really unacceptable. I love the car but damn.
You said it perfectly. I love the car but damn
What is the repurchase?!
Tesla will buy back your car
very informative video; thank you 🙏🏾
i was thinking of getting this car.
i really hope they fix all the issues with your M3P especially after this video it wouldn’t be a good look!
Appreciate your objective view and honesty. I totally feel the same, the customer service is trash, total trash! But if everything is good and you're not so unlucky like you the cars are insane for the quality/price ratio. And software obviously
I hope they will fix it all. Doesn't help the experience. Here (Netherlands) I have mostly good experiences.
Take the wheel covers off and if the sound doesn't go away, the axles need lubricated.
What was the wheel issue you had to pay for?
I didn’t pay for it but they tried to reduce the noise coming from the aero caps
This sucks BIG time. Why didn’t u just lease as planned b4 switching to purchase?, I might just lease instead this is crazy with this price tag.
So sorry man. I love my tesla but man service is so bad. Good luck ❤
Picked up my 24 M3P on the 31st of last month, and I have 1 noticable panel gap that I’m not even gonna try and have them fix because ik they’ll say it’s “within spec” so I haven’t reported that, I do have a problem with the Vents when I move them quickly it makes a noise I think the vents are rubbing against something, and last issue is the passenger side window switch is leaned to the left, both things I have a service appointment with and hopefully they’ll be able to fix it and not blame me or try and make me pay for it it should all be under warranty 🤞 still love the car though all that stuff is stuff I can live with
It's like a Russian roulette with these cars. And if you get a broken one, have fun getting it repaired! What a nightmare.
Damm! Im picking up mine this Sunday at the same center pray for me yall!
The rim sound is probably something in the rim. I had a nut come off the stem once and did the same.
