I've noticed as I've gotten older as a person and guitarist, I'm starting to gravitate toward guys like Warren and musicians like him are a fresh source of inspiration...
I've said this more than once here on youtube in regards to Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Duane Allman....really any of The Allman Brothers line ups, members, and ABB-adjacent projects....what makes this musical family so unique aside from having played a huge roll in saving guitar driven blues rock through the decades--they are all virtuoso-level musicians, and yet when you see any of them live, there is zero show-boating, and really no ego fests, every moment, every solo, is in this humble service of this greater good, The Song, or The Groove. It is a living and breathing entitiy, and it is nurtured along by this skilled and loving team. And it really is, like most things in life, most enjoyable experienced live.
Love Warren, amazing musician. I’ve have seen him him live so many times over the years. I’ve always seen him talking with fans well over an hour after the show, he is the nicest musician I’ve ever met such a sweetheart of a man
Thank you!!! I love the sound of the 2 amps together! I also love the advice about be yourself. Unfortunately when I be myself, things can go off the rails pretty quickly but it's a heck of ride and alot of fun! All the best to you both.
So much freedom and respect for an individuals point of view, perception and voice. An interest in respecting an individual's interpretation and contribution to the whole. Wow
Warren I commented when you were on during Gearfest.... Marty? This is that live one. Well, as a terminally ill 60s blues/blues rock kid I admire your artistic talent! The Brothers? Top of my list in all members at all the times. Dicky is my favorite guitar composer and I'm a half-as. slide player. Bought 2 of your books. Thanks.... Peace and Love, Man.....
Love Warren he's awesome. Old Before My Time is one of my favorite songs ever. Try to find a live version of Gamblers Roll from the early 90s man that is fantastic. Also 2009 with Eric Clapton when they played Dreams man it was smokin. Just a couple examples of his countless amazing performances. The Allman Brothers from 1989 when Warren joined to the end is the second best American band ever. The best American band ever of course is the original Allman Brothers with Duane. IMO. Got my first copy of at Fillmore East in 1972 and I've been rocking ever since.
Warren is what I'd call an "artist," no bs/gimmicks, he just plays earthy soulful kick ass music and does it w/ great style and especially, SOUND. Love the style and tone of his playing... it's why people still go see the Allman's, there's no Allman's left, but Warren and Derek Trucks play good music - PERIOD. I cannot stand what "Rock" has become for most ppl nowadays, loud shredding GARBAGE!!! Rock on, Warren. PEACE EDIT: Thanks, Mitch, as always, a solid, pertinent interview.
For the drum delay sounds on live Dark Side of the Mule shows (like on “Time” and “Shine on You Crazy Diamond”), anyone know if Warren is using a real Binson Echorec? Or getting the delay from a pedal (like a Boonar or Catalinbread Echorec). Love that delay sound - I can’t find any information on it anywhere. Thanks!
My second favorite guitarist.
One of the tastiest and most accomplished players out there. Total fan.
Those Allman Bros albums from the early 90’s renewed my interest in the ABB after a 15 year or so hiatus..
RIP Allen Woody .
Warren Haynes is defiantly one of my top ten guitar hero's. What an amazing player.
The hardest working man in the music industry. He looks good & healthy too. Music is magic & the best medicine.

Wow you missed good music in your early years could have made you a better musician! but never too late!
“Then I have to pull back and do that…uh you know.”.
Humble as it comes.
Thanks WH.
Warren replies with such musical maturity. Mitch’s interviewing skills remain second to none.
Totally agree! Taking notes as I am doing research for my own Pod. Both these guys are so natural. Just having a from the heart conversation
