Wow its looks like a very easy and stable aircraft to fly and very easy to learn. A very beautiful aircraft too. And looks like a very dream to fly. If you like vintage aircraft you really need to add this aircraft to your collection.
One of my favourites in FSX (certainly my #1 favourite in it's class) and I'm so pleased to see it in MSFS. I'd like to see how she side-slips please (for dumping attitude as well as cross-wind approaches). IIRC she should be capable of a fully developed spin IRL without holding her there, but I'm happy to be corrected.
Thank-you sir for the Marchetti SF 260 demonstration. I had a great time as I imagined flying the aircraft with a hefty load of air sickness bags. Nevertheless, you do demonstrate some unique and fun things for me to try in MSFS. I do think that the aircraft would be a good “fun ride” type of aircraft, but I believe it would struggle keeping up with the crowd during one of your “VirtualFlights”. But then, it is designed to be a fighter trainer and not a leisure aircraft. As far as the excessive noise, I did not notice it and thought your voice came through very well. If anything, the aircraft seemed to sound somewhat like a twin engine aircraft. I am surprised at how much power is required to keep it aloft with full flaps. However, if it is supposed to be a fighter trainer, does it mimic a jet fighter’s landing characteristics? Given how poorly it climbed immediately after takeoff (that was my impression), I believe the aircraft would not do well with much of a crosswind. Although your flight was relatively short, I think you did a more than adequate job of demonstrating the characteristics of the Marchetti SF 260. Given the type of flying I most enjoy, this is not the aircraft for me. Nevertheless, for someone who enjoys aerobatics, I think this would he an ideal aircraft for them. Thank-you again. Have yourself a huge steeping mug of coffee. You deserve it.
Good call on the go-around!.... I'm always looking for non-glass cockpit piston aircraft with extreme realism in the flight envelope (to simulate real life GA flying)... The Just Flight (Arrow & Warrior II) are finally updated to the point of almost perfection!. This aircraft seems to have the potential to take GA to the next level, with rolls, loops etc.
Jonathan, you are a terrible man because every time you do a "first look" video you make it look so good, it entices me to go out and get it. Your videos are great and the way you explain everything is well done! Thanks, man... keep up the excellent work. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼😄
I'd worry about the IAS and piwer issues being bugs. It's a cool and interesting aircraft, but I'm reluctant to buy from SSW. The TF-104 is far and away the most broken aircraft I have in MSFS. Virtually unflyable. Having this and the DC-3, you can recreate the air battle from Quantum of Solace, so that's a plus.
Did you lean the mixture? What repaints are supplied? Are there any smoke effects for display team aerobatics (Belgian Red Devils)? Thanks for the video, it’s made it onto my “need” shopping list!
Sounds like a dishwasher. Ugh. Thanks for the good review Jon, with so many good airplanes out there today and with no personal experience/affinity for this one; it’s a pass for me
The flight model seems a bit unrealistic, for me. The controls feel "arcade-y", the plane does a barrel roll when I give it full rudder, unlike anything i've flown before. Is it just me? it's hard to believe the aircraft have the same characteristics IRL. Also, the dev could optimize it's size a little better, almost 10gb (IIRC) for a GA aircraft seems excessive.
Sort of an aside, but Is there any way to turn off the tug guys in the sim? Are you a “small GA” pilot in the US? If so, have you EVER EVER EVER had some sunglassed Millennial on a battery powered tug hovering around your airplane waiting to take you somewhere? Maybe this happens at the G7 conference in Geneva? Why not have a Federation Starship parked on the ramp in every nontowered dirt strip on the planet? For the last three years, as far as I can tell, these guys have added nothing to the sim other than providing ways for crazy bastards like me to fantasize about being a medieval executioner. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE how the hell do I get rid of these damn tug guys?
What? An american able to say SIAI Marchetti with an almost perfect italian speaking accent? Almost impossible .... 😊😊😊. Nice 3D model, real life liveries, the sound especially the exterior one from far away not convincing after hearing other rewiews. Thanks.
I look up any name I'm unsure of and find out how the locals pronounce it. I will admit to not being sure of SIAI though - the only reference I could find was an American saying it out loud - and turning it into a word rather than spelling out the letters. My only reference for that is an Italian friend, who I know tends to "say" most acronyms :)
My absolute favourite plane in FSX and one of my favourites now in MSFS.
I also love this plane. Used it as a substitute for the Saab 91B back in X plane 11

Stunning Aircraft. I use to see them fly over my school. Many years ago now, i'd buy one today if I could ha! Thanks for a great review.
Thanks for a nice video. Looks great but they lost me on the pulasating engine sound.
So much fun around the Mach Loop!

Spot on Video Thank You

Thanks for the review! The engine sound is really annoying!
Nice test!
Great review and beautiful plane
Same canopy as the one you were flying last night I think, but this one actually works
Prefer the other one, you were flying the sounds on this are a bit weird. Looks great thought
How do you close canopy?
She is a bit heavy on take off, usual V speeds are V1 = 65 Vr = 70 - 75 kts

I don't *think* it has smoke. I'll have a better look at it tomorrow :)
@@jonbeckett Maybe in an update? Thanks for the review, the SF260 has long been a favourite.
Great video...as usual!
Wonderfull aircraft!
The cockpit looping chugging sound is just awful. Hopefully this gets addressed fairly soon, otherwise its a very decent looking plane.
It's not as obvious when you're in it
How does this plane compare to the Piaggio 149? They seem to fulfill very similar roles. Which one do you like better?
I prefer the 149.
Hey mate, can you revisit the grob tutor?
Soon :)
Fantastico ma non lo trovato nella lista MARKETING come mai? e un prodotto di terze parti non un prodotto ufficiale MSFS.
hello john what is that sound from the engine sounds like the prop out of sync surging sound is it default
It is default :/
developers need to work on it
Is it true to the real aircraft for the engine noise to pulse like that?
No idea :)
thanks for the video. just wondering do you use any colour filters for your content in sim, such as nvidia freestyle?

Why don't we have all this cool stuff on xbox msfs market place 😢
I'm guessing it will appear in a few weeks time.
