Alright, so I have both the charge 5 and Bose flex. In my opinion, Bose can be listened for longer as it’s sound is more mellow and soothing. The charge 5 gets a bit ear piercing at times. If you haven’t, you have to try the Bose, I find my self listening to it a lot more. Also with the Bose, you don’t have to crank it up to hear the bass, it’s so deep that I can be listening to it at any volume. Both speakers are great though, charge 5 is very loud for its size!

@ainajoe5874 Yes, when standing up I feel the same way. The Bose Flex sounds wayyyy better on its back. Like a different speaker. It is really the only position this speaker should be played on. I'm planning to buy a speaker for my job where I work long hours. I think everyone is talking too much about how loud and clear the C5 is but that is only enjoyable for maybe max 1 hour. After that you will get tired and your ears want to turn off the speaker cause no ears want to have that kind of exhaustion and headache. The Bose on the other hand is perfect for long hours of listening to music. Just compare that to how sound studios at radio stations usually sounds like: they are warm and trap you inside one room and not that type of "blasting sound out from the window" like sagt the Charge 5 is exactly doing. So if you wanna part outdoor, go ahead and buy that Charge 5. This is only good for teenagers. But if you are mature enough and want to use a speaker indoor long hours, then definitely it's the Bose that is the King of the speakers! Not everything should be about how loud and clear sounds should be. Your ears should be handle it during long durations also! Good luck listening to C5 for long time! On the other side if we analize the middles the JBL is by far the best. And also I prefer the highs of the JBL, the Bose ones aren't bad but they are too much thin...
SL Flex here sounded like it’s covered or even submerged in water. I think SL Flex and Flip 5 are more comparable or at the same level of portability and sound. But based on this video, it’s a win for the Charge 5 for me.
I got JBL winning this battle for the sound but it is bigger and heavier. They are about same price. Bose sounds really good still. And more portable. But JBL wins for the louder sound and bass.
The charge 5 sounds like a mess. As a huge jbl fan I can say the bose takes the cake in danm near every category. I'll take the charge 5 for its bass though.
I just compare these two in person at my local Costco. This is a very poor comparison imo, in person the Bose sounded way, WAY better than the Charge 5.
which one should i buy charge 5 or Soundlink Flex??? pls help!!!!! i concern about sound quality and sound clarity!!! portability and size factor doesn't make sense to me!!!!
Hiiii thank you sooo much for this comparison!! I am not sure among these 2 which to buy! I am a Family Photographer and I shot outdoor, by the sea, in the public parks ecc and I need a portable speaker to be used during my shootings. Among them, which one do you recommend me? Personally, the important is that even if I place it a little far from me & clients (as I do not want it to appear in the shots) we all can still hear the music. Thanks!!!
I had the Bose and after the battery ran out it did not want to charge so I returned it and got another one same thing happened so I was going to go with the JBL but found it to be heavy so I opted for the Bose glasses so far so good
The bose gives the feeling of hearing the music from outside the room with the door semi closed and the JBL is as if you open the door and walk into the room
The Bose Flex comes alive and opens up on its back due to Bose’s automatic position EQ. It doesn’t sound distant or muffled on its back like it does standing up, yet hardly anyone demos it on its back. You also get 360 sound on its back and it is just an easier position. It also sounds good leaning at an angle. Somehow the speaker knows when it is completely vertical and changes the EQ to that muffled sound.
I would go with the Soundcore Motion Boom Plus the price is at $179 and you got a lot of bass and volumen and detailed sound quality with titanium drivers and amazing 80W which is double of that which the JBL charge 5 has. It is also Waterproof & Dustproof (IP67). A BEAST

Auggest me any alternative BT speaker... I have use soundcore motion + for 3 yrs now and wanna change. Is this two speaker has huge difference to soundcore
I got a flex and the sound is so pleasing. I compared it to my friends charge 5 and his JBL is louder and bassy but sounds like it’s really trying hard to produce. The Bose produces a natural sound. Other than that the Bose is so light and easy to set up anywhere that’s another reason I love it.
Bose impressive sound natural you cannot listening hash treble some sound from JBL too long in a room but accept Jbl for outdoor party it is advantages.
Now try to listen to the JBL pointed in another Direction. Then listen to bows pointed in another Direction you'll be able to hear the bows from all directions. Not the JBL
Certain songs the Bose can have crisper vocals that pop out and does have more bass than expected. But the JBL Charge 5 has more bass and has more balance. Overall JBL wins the battle. Not too mention it has twice the battery life. JBL Charge 5 (20 hours) Bose (10 hours)
The treble range sound very harsh on the JBL Charge 5, compared to the Bose Flex The Aha moment for this is at 1:32, but there are more than enough instances in this video where the Charge 5's highs just just sound way too harsh. That's a deal breaker for me.
1:32 this is the very reason I choose the JBL , the Bose treble sounds muffled as if the speaker is in another room. It just doesn't have the brightness I love to hear. Bose sounds muddy so JBL is the clear winner here.

But if you listen to jazz, big band, classical, vocals, etc....stay away from the portable offerings from JBL and Sony.
@@Bug-sg1li J Robledo is 100% correct. The smaller offerings from Sony and JBL have that "cheap" sound. From this video, clearly the charge 5 sounds balanced. The flex sounds like the highs is boosted, and it doesn't mean that having a boosted highs sounds better and more hifi, it's just an ear piercing sound. No problem listening to c5 for long period of time, sometimes even the whole day and never had a fatigue. Heard it both live and the flex clearly struggles in max volume while the c5 still has a balanced sound because of its 2 way speaker system unlike the flex which has 1 working driver and the amp pushed the limits of the highs so the woofer can sound clear
For everyone saying bose is better cos its warm and won't hurt your ears for a long time, can't the charge 5 be used on lower volume rather to not hurt your ears? A genuine question before I make a purchase.
I have been thinking the exact same and came to realise (going in a store testing sounds) that charge 5 needs to be cranked up for a deeper bass & those little background sounds in a song you won’t wanna miss however, Bose flex, even at low volume sounds just as good as it would at 100% But, the battery life for jbl (also the fact we can use it as a power bank)
Would you think the Bose soundlink flex would be better compared to a jbl flip 5 or 6 than the charge 5? Or what model do you think would be a better comparison? I kind agreed with you.. the jbl is just a bit bigger and is able to house bigger woofers. Also the jbl charge 5 has a real nice tweeter that previous models didnt.. I love BOSE and I love JBL... it's still weird to me how different these to speakers sound when compared side by side.. I personally give the edge to the JBL.. just sounds fuller with a bit more midrange authority. They both sound great tho.. "tomato-potato" lol

My room is 4m x 3m and it's loud enough at 50% volume. I'm usually at 20-30% volume most days -R&B and Jazz is pleasing. The charge 5 seems "clearer" due to the higher mids and treble but sounds a little "canned" and may be irritating after 30mins or more -Adjusts to it's position so it's sound doesn't change too much -It's elegant and has a premium and sturdier feel -Bluetooth connects easily and the connection doesn't break -Can be paired with other Bose soundlink speakers for stereo sound -Connect to multiple bluetooth devices at once -Has an in-built mic which is pretty good for calls -Will float in case you drop it in the pool Cons: -No adjustable EQ -The bass starts to struggle at volumes of 80% and above. Not that the bass distorts but it doesn't keep up with the increasing volume
Bose has muffled sound but with powerful deep low bass, while jbl c5 is perfect for outdoor use coz it's much louder than bose...but for indoor i'll prefer the full bodied sound of bose Sflex...
The Bose Flex doesn’t sound muffled on its back. I really wish people would demo it this way. The Flex has position EQ and it increases treble and I believe some mids. It sounds more open. I got JBL winning this battle for the sound but it is bigger and heavier. They are about same price. Bose sounds really good still. And more portable. But JBL wins for the louder sound and bass.
Charge 5 all the way 😂👍🏻🔥🔥
Charge 5 all the way. Too bad no 3.5mm Aux In. I need it always for my old but still useful devices.
The charge 5 sounds like a mess. As a huge jbl fan I can say the bose takes the cake in danm near every category. I'll take the charge 5 for its bass though.
The bose soung a little bit muffle but the jbl sound much more clean and good depth of bass. Jbl wins hand down over the boss
I bought Bose Soundlink Flex today in 2024, still the best
Legend is Back With another Portable Speaker Soundtest🔥🔥🤘😄
I just compare these two in person at my local Costco. This is a very poor comparison imo, in person the Bose sounded way, WAY better than the Charge 5.
No time wasting great comparison, have my sub
which one should i buy charge 5 or Soundlink Flex??? pls help!!!!!
i concern about sound quality and sound clarity!!! portability and size factor doesn't make sense to me!!!!
Same here bro
Now I m confused...which one to buy
Just the fact the Bose is half the size of this jbl and it’s even in the contest shows me the one I should get is Bose.
I'm a simple man. I've come to love the good things in life. N Bose is just that, quality.
Which one sounds better on low to very low volumes?
Hiiii thank you sooo much for this comparison!! I am not sure among these 2 which to buy! I am a Family Photographer and I shot outdoor, by the sea, in the public parks ecc and I need a portable speaker to be used during my shootings. Among them, which one do you recommend me? Personally, the important is that even if I place it a little far from me & clients (as I do not want it to appear in the shots) we all can still hear the music. Thanks!!!
I had the Bose and after the battery ran out it did not want to charge so I returned it and got another one same thing happened so I was going to go with the JBL but found it to be heavy so I opted for the Bose glasses so far so good
I have the JBL Extreme 2. Freaking amazing and I'm getting the Boombox 3
Bose, has balanced sound ,and bass is soo punchy and crisp and best than JBL
The bose gives the feeling of hearing the music from outside the room with the door semi closed and the JBL is as if you open the door and walk into the room
exellent analogy
A BEAST
btw Motion Boom is better than the Motion Boom Plus, sorry my fault do your research
Love your videos. Thanks for all the great buying advice
Hi, would you try the Huawei sound joy pls ? It's a portable speaker made in co-engenering with devialet.
Recently both the speaker got deal of almost same price.. i m digging YT review whic one to get... I m okay with any size...but prefer more and thumping bass and battery...
Can you do the sound test between soundcore motion boom v jbl charge 5
it's vs with charge 4 correct not with charge 5
Bose impressive sound natural you cannot listening hash treble some sound from JBL too long in a room but accept Jbl for outdoor party it is advantages.
Я может ошибаюсь)
Но верхние частоты - можно же подкрутить эквалайзером в смартфоне и будет счастье !?
WOW!!! Charge 5 all day.. Good Stuff
Demo the Bose Flex on its back. It has position EQ and enhances the mids and highs. It sounds much better on its back imo.
*Correction: 0:35 / Night City · Action Alexi
He still didnt fix the song name xd
I once got a DINDIN bluetooth speaker, it works very well, I love it, the price is $35-40, how much is your speaker?
Now try to listen to the JBL pointed in another Direction. Then listen to bows pointed in another Direction you'll be able to hear the bows from all directions. Not the JBL
I don't know what to pick.. because i know charge 5's sound depends of the position you place it...
Was there any eq settings on these during the recording
Sounds like stock to me considering JBL didn't add EQ to their app until recently.
thanks for the review, I found out that sound get distorted in the flip 5 while charging and listening, is this normal?
I have this issue. The battery doesn’t last and if i play while charging it just dies. So I just went and got a Bose 😄
any recommendation for classical music , violin, ochestra symphony?
Marshall Emberton/ Stockwell 2
Certain songs the Bose can have crisper vocals that pop out and does have more bass than expected. But the JBL Charge 5 has more bass and has more balance. Overall JBL wins the battle. Not too mention it has twice the battery life. JBL Charge 5 (20 hours) Bose (10 hours)
Much better details, deeper bass, louder. JBL Just a much better loudspeaker. Hands down.
I like Charge 5 . Especially the tweet sound and bass are equal at 100% vol.
I think Bose WINNER. Bose sound very quality
Can someone compare the sound of the Flex with the soundlink mini 2 at low volumes of up to 50%? Love the sound of my mini 2 tho
no, busy
@@NEWSRESEARCH123 come on :D
The treble range sound very harsh on the JBL Charge 5, compared to the Bose Flex The Aha moment for this is at 1:32, but there are more than enough instances in this video where the Charge 5's highs just just sound way too harsh. That's a deal breaker for me.
1:32 this is the very reason I choose the JBL , the Bose treble sounds muffled as if the speaker is in another room. It just doesn't have the brightness I love to hear.
Bose sounds muddy so JBL is the clear winner here.
@@the_wanderer-03 - Everyone has their own opinions and likes/dislikes. I am glad the JBL works for you, and JBL does make great speakers. I own several bluetooth speakers besides the Bose Flex, including Sony, Marshall and Klipsch. We go with what works for us and what sounds good to our ears.
Coud you please make a video showing the winner of these two? I would love to see that from your point of view.
Thank you 🙏
Recently having bought the *Bose Soundlink Flex* I can unequivocally say that it is *THE* best $120.00CAN I have ever spent in my entire life. Cause take it from me, this mofo’er can really swing, brotha’s & sista’s. ✌🏼
People really need to listen to that Bose in person, sounds great! Charge 5 sounds great too but there’s something cheap sounding from jbl and I can never put my finger on it😂
@@Bug-sg1li
Actually? You're wrong.
JBL'S sound signature lacks critical detail. If you go back, the smaller JBL speakers all suffer from this problem.
Same with Sony.
JBL'S larger speakers are excellent.
But in the portable Bluetooth segment, both JBL and Sony miss the mark.
I will say that if your music preference is rap, the JBL and Sony are for you.
But if you listen to jazz, big band, classical, vocals, etc....stay away from the portable offerings from JBL and Sony.
@@Bug-sg1li
Actually? All manufacturers are going DSP.
They are following bose.
Looks like you have been asleep the past few years.
@@Bug-sg1li
J Robledo is 100% correct.
The smaller offerings from Sony and JBL have that "cheap" sound. Bose was ahead of it's time over fifty years ago when they came out with "wave guides",
Speaker manufacturers all learned from bose.
And wave guides appear on many many different speakers. DSP has become the wave of the future.
You lack the intelligence to understand that bose was always forward thinking.
You display a "sheep-like" mentality as you parrot 🦜 the BS that's fed up to you.
I was critically listening to music before you were born, so take your BS elsewhere.
It's the contrary man...
JBL's charge 5 sounds better
had them both and I prefer the soundlink flex any day, not as loud as the jbl but higher quality sound.
No contest. JBL all the way. Sounds like the Bose is in the other room.
Bose flex was so relaxing, less fatigue for the bose.
For everyone saying bose is better cos its warm and won't hurt your ears for a long time, can't the charge 5 be used on lower volume rather to not hurt your ears? A genuine question before I make a purchase.
I have been thinking the exact same and came to realise (going in a store testing sounds) that charge 5 needs to be cranked up for a deeper bass & those little background sounds in a song you won’t wanna miss however, Bose flex, even at low volume sounds just as good as it would at 100%
But, the battery life for jbl (also the fact we can use it as a power bank)
Not a fair comparison since the C5 is much larger. Try again with a comparable JBL model and the Bose Flex wins.
I think JBL is more louder and has more clearer bass and a better instrument separation to it but I think that the Bose has more louder but Muddier bass and I think is sounds good but the JBL is just way better
Bose has an optimizer
@@mx-deadz Ik that but like still I think the JBL just sounds more better out of the box you know especially for the people that don’t know how to do all that stuff or they just don’t like do all that other stuff I think the JBL sounds better you know
I like to enjoy my music bose trademark is just for that JBL is moreblike a 30 min listening after that is gets tiring.
Do a video for the sharp ps-919 party speaker. it's awesome
The Charge 5 foots the bill after a few drinks. The Flex on the other hand, is for when you are sober.
red try ANKER soundcore solid bass sound , I want to share ANKER soundcore 50 watts and 80 watts
Try a review on devialet phantom
As usual charge 5 is the sure winner here in terms all over soundings 😂
It's apples to oranges.
The larger 5 lb JBL vs the smaller 1 lb bose is a ridiculous comparison. The law of physics explains that..
@@bradhuskers then the price is opposite.😂
@@jkhanPrime The Charge 5 is only 10$ more expensive than the Bose as I speak right now. (Boxing day prices in Canada / Bose: 169$ CAD and Charge 5: 179$ CAD). I think I made my choice :D
@@warwid5419 HEre in Mexico the flex is at 150.00 usd and charge 5 is 11.00 usd.
Travel by plane alot, & iam tired of carrying my onyx 6 as my standard bt speaker, i was looki g for something portable with great balanced sound, i think iam gonna settle for the bose, i just need something subtle for my hotel stays...
Nobody can mess with jbl. Never have and never will. For the price it can't be beat.
Just bought the Flex and I'm very pleased with it. It was the Flex or Charge 5 and here's my take:
Pros:
-Sound is loud and balanced with good bass. My room is 4m x 3m and it's loud enough at 50% volume. I'm usually at 20-30% volume most days
-R&B and Jazz is pleasing. The charge 5 seems "clearer" due to the higher mids and treble but sounds a little "canned" and may be irritating after 30mins or more
-Adjusts to it's position so it's sound doesn't change too much
-It's elegant and has a premium and sturdier feel
-Bluetooth connects easily and the connection doesn't break
-Can be paired with other Bose soundlink speakers for stereo sound
-Connect to multiple bluetooth devices at once
-Has an in-built mic which is pretty good for calls
-Will float in case you drop it in the pool
Cons:
-No adjustable EQ
-The bass starts to struggle at volumes of 80% and above. Not that the bass distorts but it doesn't keep up with the increasing volume
Bose.... crisp and pleasing...!!
Do a video for the sharp ps-919
i always see your videos with pleasure
Has uno de la Soundlink flex vs Charge 4
Saben cuántos RMS son de la Soundlink Flex?
no cres mas probable preguntar en ingles ya que el 99% de los que escriben son en ese idioma, creo que seria mejor, como ves?
Which is better to listen to orchestra?
BOSE SOUNDLINK FLEX
@@sherhanb_dj Ok,thanks
Charge 5 sounds way more better than Bose, especially at 100%, Bose on 100% is overloaded
Bose has muffled sound but with powerful deep low bass, while jbl c5 is perfect for outdoor use coz it's much louder than bose...but for indoor i'll prefer the full bodied sound of bose Sflex...
😂
The Bose Flex doesn’t sound muffled on its back. I really wish people would demo it this way. The Flex has position EQ and it increases treble and I believe some mids. It sounds more open. You can hear more instruments on its back. Snare drum and hi-hats come to life. And even though the treble is increased it never sounds shrill or hollow like the JBL.
i don't think its a fair comparrison though.. its like comparing a semi with a f-150... common, off course the jbl is going to kick his butt..
Charge 5 ❤️
The Charge 5 has a full sound stage, the Bose sounded muffled
Great video but better comparison would be against a REFERENCE speaker like the Tribit Maxsound plus or more expensive Denon Envaya dsb250...
I like bose sound signature, the jbl can be a bit ear piercing at times
Waiting for the favourite jbl speaker over all sir.😐😐
Bose is music to my ears 😊
Good video ! Thanks.
for me bose flex is clearly sound and smoth to ears so bose is win
you better have your ears checked. LMAO
