- You requested it and here you go, The JBL Xtreme 2 VS JBL Charge 5 both indoor and outdoor. I was really surprised to hear how good the charge 5 sounds against the Xtreme 2 but let me know what you think.
There were quite a few birds making noise outside and a plane flew by while I was recording the Xtreme 2 but I hope it wasn't so hard for you to hear the difference (that's nature for you though 🤷♂️)

Apparently instead of their size difference they ran pretty much neck to neck..! Good to see the old format (i.e. 60% followed by 100% volume) being used again...

While I would say extreme 2 sounds little bit better because of it's bass since it's big but charge 5 is fighting in this one for real

@@SoulesOfficial Not at all lol it depends on the song that you play. The Xtreme 2 & Xtreme 3 both have 2 tweeters meaning they can sound ALOT more clear. You're saying that small Charge 5 wins against an Xtreme 2 or Xtreme 3??

Hey DLX, do you know if partyboost works with aux input? I want to put an aux into my boombox 2 and partyboost this to the charge 5 i ordered.
Spent so much time debating this choice, but ended up getting the Charge 5. Wow, amazing sound and plenty loud. Deep bass. Unless you live in the forest or on an acre of private land the Charge 5 will be plenty. Shy to play it at full volume where i live in a three unit estate.
Mind blowing! If I wasn't locked into the Connect+ generation, then I'd be all over that Charge 5. Imagine if JBL says PartyBoost is it for the next 5-10 years.

@@Tech-187 JBL is still manufacturing Connect+ speakers that sound great and you can still stack up to 100. You on the other hand can chase the moving finish line if you want.

JBL fans are typically going to stay within the generation they started in as buying new improved speakers that can't sync with previous investments isn't wise. So the new buyers can partake in the Partyboost generation. Now if you're in the basic Connect generation from 5 years back, then maybe this is the generation to refresh. However you have to think how many speakers has a JBL fan accumulated in over 5 years? My proposal for JBL to stop upgrading so fast without backward compatibility doesn't sound so bad. To my knowledge the Charge 3 is the only JBL speaker that jumped generations and they've been saying it's impossible to do that.
Love my 2 Charge 3, great sound, battery life and Auxiliary input.

Xtreme 2 has more powerful bass as you'd expect. Charge 5 has the brighter clearer sound signature from the Xtreme 3
Charge 5 has 30 watts and Xtreme 2 has 40 watts (in terms of bass)

Idk why people are going after loudness of charge 5 because once you go above 75% volume on charge 5 then you wont find bass surrounding your song and its mone speaker it just sound good at 60 % volume. But Extreme 2 have stereo channel and that makes huge difference with more surround sound and deeper bass punch at 100% volume . Go for Xtreme 2 and you wont regret.

Hello all well? I really like listening to funk, electronics, which one would you recommend?
In these video i heard charge 5 little bit clear high sound, i don't have the xtreme 2 but i have charge 5 and love it because the size it's smaller than xtreme 2 and same watts total output even charge 5 is mono ( 1 woofer and 1 tweeter) but it's sound amazing for me.
Both decent...obviously with jbl nowadays bigger seems better were both eqs flat? Need more tops on the extremes eq (i think theyve got the app now?)

Ok... so they have there own differences... but both at higher volumes lose that “punch”... the charge 3 doesn’t.. i have the flip 5, charge 3 and 4.. if i need more i go to my ion pathfinder 3... thanks for the review!

... In terms of loudness they're tie, but extreme 2 has more powerful bass but it sounds a bit muddy to me, while C5 sounds more clear, has more mids and highs mybe bcoz of its tweeter, but a lil bit of lows would be perfect for C5...

I'm Hella surprised with the charge 5.... it's a damn good speaker. I was surprised by it I bought a new one yesterday lol I got the Grey one and a black one and a red one atm. And then my xtreme 2s and xtreme 3s.. and I love the charge 5 it's well balanced and out of the flip 5 to flip 6 n to the xtreme 2 to the 3rd gen.. the charge 5 was the biggest sound upgrade out of em all... the xtreme 2 n 3 are very close in sound the flip 5 and 6 are close but the flip 6 has better mids n highs. But the charge 5 will surprise ppl... alot of sound comes from that Lil speaker 😆 🤣 it's so close to the xtreme 2 in terms of loudness but bass the xtreme 2 kicks it's ass which is obvious lol

Still Xtreme 2 holds its name as XTREME series. Charge 5 yes more louder and crisp but the bass still not good/strong as the Xtreme 2. Don't get me wrong both speakers are good but for me the charge 5 sounds like a charge 4 with better tuning and clarity. I hope JBL put some new software update to Xtreme 2 to tune it's tweeter to become more crispier and brighter highs.

My JBL Xtreme 2 has now on software version 2.7.0 and I must say it's way better bass specialy in low volume and for the loudness hell yeah specialy on AC mode. 😎😎
I can say this. The charge 5 is not louder at all when you update the xtreme 2 to version 2.6
Plus it has even better bass then. The xtreme 2 in this video is at version 2.0 which is done in late 2019 and the latest version 2.6 is done somewhere between july and september in 2020

I don’t think the charge 5 is louder.
Still the Xtreme 2 is not very "Xtreme" for the size and weight. You can get better and *louder* sounding speakers than the Xtreme 2, like the Vifa Helsinki. which plays louder and sounds more balanced, this does not mean the Xtreme 2 is terrible, it's just that there are better "Xtreme" speakers available.
I will definitely go for xtreme 2 as both have similar price.
The charge 5 is compacter, and you can charge it with usb type c. I will go with the charge 5
same, thus because X2 is stereo, has aux input, lower bass frequency and balanced sound, and it boosts watts in AC mode
@@quinten5993This is party speaker, just for pop music or rap. Any another kind of music on this speaker and it turns into a garbage. Battery on Charge 5 is full shit. I works 3 hours on 70%, when my Charge 3 works all day at the same vol or higher.

Hi. I have flip 5 and thinking on geting charge 5. What is the sound and power difference? The main reason I didnt buy charge 5 so far is that in all YT videos treble sounds too harsh and loud and mids are non existent 🤔. How would you describe the sound of Charge 5 and which one do you have TL or ND ( which color)?

I just bought both and I think the charge 5 has a bit more clearer bass and overall isn't far off with loudness form the xtreme 2. With the JBL xtreme 2 I think the actually music is louser and you can't really hear the bass as balanced as you can on the charge 5.

Xtreme 2. I listened to both of these speakers and the xtreme 2 has clear deep bass unlike charge 5.
I bought a jbl charge 5 and it had non stop static issues and irratic pauses. This was only with this jbl charge 5 and my samsung a21 combo. My samsung plays every other speaker I have encountered seamlessly

The JBL Xtreme 2 has little bit of more bass than JBL Charge 5, in my opinnion if u wanna listen to music daily its the JBL Charge 5 to go, but if ur going out with friends and wanna have party, or you just like Bass, then its the JBL Xtreme 2 to go

@@giorgosmixahl4047 Because the Xtreme 2 uses the JBL Connect plus method to connect to other JBL speakers while the Charge 5 uses a different method called "JBL Partyboost" which does not support the older speakers. You can connect all Partyboost speakers together (Charge 5 + Flip 5 + Xtreme 3 + Boombox 2 ...) but you can only use stereo mode if you have two of the same kind of speakers connected to each other (Charge 5 + Charge 5).

At full volume charge 5 kinda become more of a noisy side... With Xtreme 2, you won't get that.... Perfect all the way
Extreme 2 is the best speaker of ever bought It sounds so full and the bass is incredible every house party my guest asks me what the hell is that, they can't believe this small speaker produced that sound it the music really bounces off the walls!!

Personally I enjoy the sound signature of UE better than JBL but I can’t deny that JBL speakers are all really well made and sound great without any tweaking.
