But the precision and care was just 🤌🏻 You even have some tools that we don’t 😅 I’ve seen so many botched repair on RUclips and in person where I can tell they either don’t know what they’re doing or just don’t care. Most of the time in person it’s because they want to do it as quickly and cheaply as possible to squeeze in more repairs. 3rd party repairs are almost never the answer, for those same reasons. Apple repairs are very streamlined, so finding someone that can do this level of work and you’re likely going to pay the same or more than you would at Apple. Good stuff!

This is a highly skilled procedure especially the removal of the old Nand and install the new. I work with electronics daily and my soldering station is worth more than $10K USD and even I wouldn’t attempt this. Well done and especially the tools and fixtures you have most likely made are excellent.
I watch a few art restoration channels. They are quite complex and take great precision to restore it to its orginal condition decades or even centuries ago. This video is an artform. Quite therapeutic to see in action. A work of a true professional. 👍

I spent just less than 100 USD upgrading my 64g ipad mini6 to 512g in China. Still 50 dollars cheaper than buying a 256g model. It’s not recommended for a new product but especially useful when you find out the storage is not enough after one or two years of using.

Oh, this was just beautiful ! Something being done correctly with knowledge, skill and precision. Even using a torque-driver to get the correct tightness on the screws !! Clean, precise, perfect.
When replacing BGA components on PCB, you have to take absolute precautions and use just the right amount of air pressure. This is a sort of work I used to do 20 years ago. With no fancy equipment and my success rate was still very very good on repairs and upgrades. It is a skill that can be taught, but you have to make mistakes the technique. The technique is unique to the individual, however, with modern day BGA component being glued down, these type of repairs are you and far between and take a tremendous amount of skill. You definitely need the right tools, and with the Apple PCB being so dense, wrong amount of air temperature and air pressure when using a Hacko (the common hot air blower used) You could indefinitely destroy the board. I for one appreciate this skill, and it is so nice to see without stupid music all over it. it reminds me when I was teaching others how to use hot air blowers to do mobile phone repairs. I still try to practice whenever I can, but my career has changed and seeing this is so satisfying and brings back so many memories.
