  • Finally installing some parts I've had laying around for my 2012 Polaris Ranger 500 EFI. Follow me in this video as I install used RZR wheels with 27 in tires, 2 in wheel spacers plus an LED light bar.
    In this series I'll install a street legal kit and go through the process to get my Ranger street legal.
    Stay tuned for new videos for the CT70, CJ5, Polaris Ranger, and more. Thanks for watching!

    I have an 06 500 EFI. Rocky Mountain ATV did not think a 27" tire would clear the fender and wheel wells. Asked about a 26" in the Terrabite which seem to be a very good choice for an all around tire but they only make the 26" in a 14" rim size. Have not been able to find 14" rims at an affordable price. There are tons of Rzr takeoffs available but the least expensive in this area start about $500 for the set. more than I wanted to spend for this old of a machine

      Yeah, this is the easiest and cheapest wheel tire upgrade I could find. I needed something more comfortable to replace my tractor tires I’d been running. In the end, I’m very happy with how they turned out. I can’t remember what I spent but it wasn’t anywhere near $500. Just have to be patient and see what pops up. Have you found anything cheaper since posting this?

      No, I went with the 27s. Have been happy with them since

    I know this is a little older video but I have a 2010 midsize and looking to change to Razor rims also. Could you explain the lug issue you were referring to? Are you saying you have to change the actual stud in the spacers for some reason or just get the proper lug nut that fit the Razor rims correctly? Thank you for taking the time to share this!

      @thehobbymechanic47  Год назад

      The new spacers are thicker then the old Ranger rims so the original wheel studs need to be replaced with longer ones. They just hammer out so they’re easy to replace.

    Where did you get the wheel spacers and what size are they
    Thanks

      I’m not an affiliate or anything. This is what I installed in the vid. Been good so far but my property is pretty small so I’m not putting on too many miles. a.co/d/5VNumIN

    Did the executioners bog you 500 down at all? I'm looking at a 2008 500 and the Kenda's seemed affordable but didn't want anything to heavy

    • @thehobbymechanic47
      @thehobbymechanic47  Год назад

      They’re not great on anything hard pack because of the vibration. It’s tolerable though. No bogging. They’re unstoppable in loose dirt and mud.

    Did you need the spacers with those wheels or they were just for the stance ?

    • @thehobbymechanic47
      @thehobbymechanic47  2 года назад

      I used them just for the look initially. The new tires rub on the plastic inner fender wells with out adding forward a-arms. I believe the spacers help the rubbing a tad when fully locked in a turn but I haven’t measured any to support that theory.

    What length light bar did you go with?

      @thehobbymechanic47  2 года назад +1

      I went with 42”. Only problem is how close I mounted it to my head. I need to move it away from me a bit so I don’t hit my forehead on it.

      It’s a complete kit made by Tusk. They’re found on most UTV sites like Rocky Mountain ATV and even on Amazon.

      Just stock suspension at this point. It rubs at full turns but nothing crazy. I think it could use a lift or some a arms.
