I went ahead and custom ordered a set of Hydro-Turf seat covers that were specifically customized for me and my model FX Cruiser. You can mix and match whatever colors Hydro-Turf makes per the templates they provide. I keep it simple though! Turned out really nice!

I previously published a video using Marine 31 to remove boat mold and mildew. I've used Marine 31 for numerous years with no complaints outside of the high price. A few viewers thought just plain bleach could do the very same thing as Marine 31 for a fraction of the price. I test out that theory in this video.

Brilliant vid 👍
so I think ours is off because it would hit 60
I’ve had a few folks say they could already hit 60 before mods so maybe mines a bit slower. I’m 220lbs so that can make a difference as well.
Looks good. Everywhere I found the y are over $200
Thanks, question, how'd you get the top nut off?
Thanks for the vid, always wondered if I should grease this shaft. Mine has been sticking lately, going to grease it up today!
Do You still have this boat
Yep, still have it. Was out on it yesterday.
Where did you get the wheel spacers and what size are they Thanks
I’m not an affiliate or anything. This is what I installed in the vid. Been good so far but my property is pretty small so I’m not putting on too many miles. a.co/d/5VNumIN
Could you please tell or show me how the springs have to be positioned? Been struggling with them for hours…
Did you figure this out?
@@thehobbymechanic47 yes i did, thank you.
You might want to describe the product in the above write up instead of focusing on your music selections. Nowhere did you mention exactly what the product description is!
Ha, I didn’t notice that. Definitely should be listed in the description. On a side note, I got pinged for copyright infringement which is why there’s so much music listed there. Had to add it to all my videos.
@@thehobbymechanic47 Yes, Utube can be very difficult. Thanks for your response.
Would this work on a four stroke kicker?
Yes, it works with 4 strokes as well.
I remember and still have my 77 orange ct70 it has always been reliable and fun when jumping terraces in our field but we also had a 78 metallic blue but it doesn’t run correctly, I guess the timing is off.
I have to renew some golden eagle decals on my 77 and I do not have any confidence whatsoever and absolutely know I’m bound to fail at it so I’m glad to see you were able to put yours on fine.😂
It’s not the funnest process but it’s doable. Good luck!
Seafoam works wonders. Use it in all farm equipment, vehicles and landscaping equipment. Everything starts so easy and runs like new
Great job dude there's only one thing I'm confused about when you have the engine out and all the wiring why didn't you just strip it down and paint the frame? my God why would you ever want to go through all that again?
I’ve been asking myself the same thing. Seriously, I still haven’t painted it.
@@thehobbymechanic47 That's funny well I've been watching your series and you kick ass so thanks for presenting that And seriously I could see myself doing the same thing. I just ordered the icebear champion CT knock off and it's driving me crazy waiting I've been waiting 3 weeks now. Great job on this series. additionally It was cute seeing how excited your kids get about the mini bike seriously I think all of us have a little bit of that in us something about mini bikes they are so much fun thanks 😊
I'm about to purchase one, I just fond your video, and it was great! Dumb question? Do you still you it? Or should I say does it still work?
We still use it. I’ve been religious about ensuring the battery never goes completely dead over the off season. I assume if it goes dead for too long a period then you might need to replace the battery. Other than that, we use a nylon over the catch net to better catch the finer particles. We think it’s good for quick cleanings but still use our main pool pump for the bigger messes.
Awesome!!!! Thank you for the response/update!!!!
Any tips on how to get the bolt that holds it on the shaft off, can’t find a tool to grip the shaft so it don’t spin with the bolt .
I did this fix a while ago but if I remember correctly, I just used a good impact driver and spun the nut off without holding onto the shaft.
Good job! Do you think theat gel product helped at all or is it a waste of $? Last vinyl I did I used soapy water but about to do the roof of my Mustang which is probably about as large as your hood area.
I applied the gel incorrectly in this video. I had the whole hood heated up in the sun which caused the gel to evaporate pretty quickly. It was stressful! If I were to do it again I’d warm up the graphic but keep the hood cool. I would use the gel again if I had to do it. I assume it evaporates slower than soapy water.
@@thehobbymechanic47 Thanks for the input!
Heck yea man
What kind of gas cans are they? I'm mainly interested in the top pour spout? Never seen a spout like that but i like the looks of it.
No Spill is the brand. The spout functions well. I have a couple of other cans but this spout is the best so far.
you know what eats up camshaft timing gears? oil pumps, if you are making more than 45 psi you have high oil pressure and this will wear down the timing gear quickly, had my oil pressure at 70 psi after replacing the front timing cover and oil pump assembly, it ran about 10 minutes before stripping off. then my stupid butt learned how to adjust the oil pressure.
Great video how do you display the mpg gauge on the screen?
I used a GoPro for this video. Just make sure GPS is enabled on the GoPro and you’ll have the ability to overlay a speedometer when you edit the video in the GoPro app.
@@thehobbymechanic47 Thanks what gopro are you shooting with?

I picked it up off eBay. Are you in the US? Might not be available in other countries.
Hobby mechanic www.seatbeltsplus.com/product/MU6870DLXFR.html
Hobby mechanic nice work. I was thinking of taking the same route, but I went to www.seatbeltsplus.com/ and ordered brand new ones. You may be able to find some there if you are still looking. I have a 1984 Caprice Classic and the new ones are beautiful.
Ive taken on mowing a guys property that on top of a mountain. Its a tiered yard and the lower section is teardrop shaped and about 1/2acre. Its dome shaped to and drops off over a 100 ft hillside to another home below. As i was mowing that lower portion the other day my x350 got stuck and i couldnt back awsy from that precipice. I was scared to release my park break and tryin push it. I was afraid itd get away from me and roll over the mountain. I eventually decided to tun the wheels all the way to the left and tryin push it uphill. I used my foot as a chock to keep it from rolling away. I was able to get it to where i could get enough traction, but i learned my lesson. I cant risk desyroying a $4k mower. Ill be pushmowing that part of his property from now on. That was a scary half an hour.
Yeah, we can put ourselves in some pretty rough situations. The things we do for a well manicured lawn! I think I’d stay away from the 100ft hillside.
@@thehobbymechanic47 amen yeah,,I'd hate to have to explain that to my insurance, lol🤣
Your only problem with the bucket is your put all that bad stuff inside of you Pump 9:51 and your water systemAnd is really nasty and gummy.
True. It gets pretty grey towards the end. I like the idea of doing this at a boat launch in the off season.
Hi, they come with instructions on where to put everything? How much to de left and how much to the right?
No, I had to estimate based on internet pictures. There’s land marks to base your placement off of such as the windshield latch and the hood grooves. The placement wasn’t all that difficult.
The 303 repellent is amazing, I swear by it. Also, it may not be perfect at cleaning but speak to any upholstery guy. They’ll all recommend 303 as it does a good job but won’t ruin your surfaces
Can I ask what dye did you use and wher eyou got it from?
I used the black RIT powder all purpose dye. You can find it at grocery stores in the US.
Thank you so much. Currently doing the same exact process with my 69 Mustang seatbelts thanks to your video. Really appreciate this.
@micahmagnuson3752 awesome. Let me know if you have any questions. This was one of the more aesthetically rewarding projects on my Mach 1. Weird how little things make a big difference.
Hi. I’m based in South Africa and have the exact same ski. Where did you order all the riva parts from. Also what is the model of the ecoxgear speakers and ram mount model. I want to do a bulk order for everything to update and upgrade my ski. Enjoyed all the videos. Thanks Simon.
Hello in South Africa! It’s easiest to order straight from Riva Racing although I’m not sure about shipping to SA. There’s part numbers on the Riva Racing site so a quick internet search might find a more efficient means of ordering for ya. This is the part number for the speakers: F3Y-H81C0-T0-00. I bought those off of eBay. They’re pricey but pretty versatile. The mounts are included which make them pretty easy to mount anywhere and on anything. I hope you can find what you need. I’ve been happy with the Riva Racing package. I’d like to squeeze a couple more mph out of it but haven’t figured out how to do that yet.
Seafoam! Lmfao
......and these RZR tires are very noisy on pavement. Really noisy....
Nice work! I need to do the same think on my 1970. Similar green to black. If mine come out half as good, I would be very happy!
I just bought this after seeing your review and others. The unit is now slightly changed with the charging outlet next to the power button. It’s a good sucker for sure, getting the silt and dirts very well for my koi pond. I had a pool blaster catfish three years ago and it died in less than a year due to leakage into the batteries. Hope this modified version lasts a couple of years.
Great! Yeah, ours is still alive and kicking 3 years later. I make an extra effort to ensure the battery doesn’t stay low for too long. I’m guessing that’ll be the weak point on these.
Did you have to punch out the two holes to have the pool lock in ?
You missed the most important part ! How the heck did you get the nut off ?
I was hitting 52 , after an impeller change barely hitting 45, any ideas why?
That’s a substantial difference. You have the same ski with the same upgrades? Is it possible you forgot the wear ring?
I have an 06 500 EFI. Rocky Mountain ATV did not think a 27" tire would clear the fender and wheel wells. Asked about a 26" in the Terrabite which seem to be a very good choice for an all around tire but they only make the 26" in a 14" rim size. Have not been able to find 14" rims at an affordable price. There are tons of Rzr takeoffs available but the least expensive in this area start about $500 for the set. more than I wanted to spend for this old of a machine
Yeah, this is the easiest and cheapest wheel tire upgrade I could find. I needed something more comfortable to replace my tractor tires I’d been running. In the end, I’m very happy with how they turned out. I can’t remember what I spent but it wasn’t anywhere near $500. Just have to be patient and see what pops up. Have you found anything cheaper since posting this?
No, I went with the 27s. Have been happy with them since
Hello, Thanks for the Video. Question did you leave the voltage regulator on ? or disconnect it ? I am having problems with my 1975 Jeep Cherokee S. The dude that did the install disconnect both the Old stock Electric ignition box & Voltage Regulator. So far I have had to replace the Alternator, Battery, and waiting for a new HEI ICM. I wonder what else I need to get ? I believe it's my fault for not checking the voltage regulator ? Thanks a little help please.
I left the original voltage regulator as is. I only installed the MSD ignition controller, MSD distributor and MSD coil. I ensured all the wiring/grounds were per the instructions.
Thanks, Have a great day.@@thehobbymechanic47

No le hace daño quitarle las restricciones?
i thought you are supposed to put a primer on before the anti foul paint?
Depends on if you need it or not. I didn’t need to. The paint adhered well. I haven’t had to repaint yet and it’s been 4 years. It’s ablative so it’s coming off one way or another.
Thanks, really appreciate this video, was able to fix my problem and get back out on the water
Are there digital screen mods available? Wondering if it’s possible to install a new gen digital gauge cluster instead of original. I have a 351 Cleveland
What was the reason for the new wear ring?
I replaced the prop and figured I’d replace the wear ring while I was in there.
@@thehobbymechanic47 was the OEM wear ring in bad shape?
Is it possible to access / remove the heater controls without taking everything else out ?
Unfortunately no. The box is crammed in there so tight you need to remove the passenger side of the metal lower dash. I had a difficult time prying the box out and putting it back in with what little I left intact.
Great videos. Ive got a stock 2007 fxho cruiser - looks identical to yours mechanically. Im hitting 58 mph gps (loaded and heavy rider 110kgs) Going to try the free flow exhaust and filter as you have here and see the difference.
There wasn’t much seat of your pants change with the exhaust/filter. Each little modification increases the mph though and the exhaust/filter was a pretty easy one to start with.
@@thehobbymechanic47 Alright! did the grate, exhaust and airfilter - after a couple of runs looks like it has improved speed by 3kmph (to 59.65 mph) - not huge but consistent. Best thing about the exhaust upgrade is how neat it makes it inside. I carry an extra host clamp as the upgrade does now put a pipe join below the external waterline when you cut the pipe with the exhaust flange. However now I am getting a severe vibration at low speed and will low speed turns. Fine at high speed. Cant see any debris so Im thinking its worn impeller or pump bearings with the skis age. I wasnt planning on doing the impeller - but now I might have to take the plunge on that and use your video guide.
Mine lasted a little longer than a year. It worked very well for supplemental vaccuuming in my 30k gallon pool, about once a week. Then the battery stopped charging. The problem is that it's very difficult to replace the battery on these; and if it craps out or you accidentally leave it charging for too long and it zaps the battery, then you have to buy an entire new motor housing with the battery in it, or just buy a new one entirely. Next time I'm going to make sure I get one that I can easily take apart and pop a new battery in. All that being said, it works great for the price, and if you have the money and you're not at all handy with taking things apart and fixing them, you could just buy a new one every now and then.
Yeah, I’ve been religious about charging the battery. I don’t leave it plugged in either. I’ve had issues with other chargeable tools that have gone dead as a result of leaving plugged in. I’m guessing the manager stops charging at some point and never starts up again. Happened on a hedge trimmer and a Dyson vacuum so I’ve been down that road.
@@thehobbymechanic47 Word up. A robust battery that doesn't suffer from that kind of thing is nice. I assumed that this one, being Li (lithium) would not suffer from being left charging for too long. I have drills and blowers etc that can be left charging for days with no problem. /shrug
I live your Pool and yard. Just curious what state you live in. It seems it can’t be California. Don’t mean to be intrusive. Thank you.
Thanks! We live in a suburb of Seattle, Washington.
Just bought a 2007 Fx Ho with 117 hrs on it, and my wife and I with both of us on it hit 60 mph with almost a full tank. I am about to start putting on the RPM kit and hope to get it up another 3 to 5 mph. Great ski, love the way the engine sounds and runs its a wonderful machine, not as fast as my 2017 VXR and 2015 Fx Cruiser HO, but its fun to see how these different engines perform with upgrades.
