Great video!!! I purchased a Radical firearms AR15 chambered in 7.62x39 for my wife and purchased 8 / 30 round steel magazines , took the mags apart and removed any burrs inside the empty mag that might interfere with the springs slide motion to prevent any feeding issues then added a little oil on spring and inner mag walls then upgraded trigger assembly for a Geissele 3 pound trigger and haven't had any feeding issues at range after shooting over 500 rounds ...this rifle is amazing for the budget price 💓
I purchased a Radical Firearms 762x39 for my wife and she loves it , upgraded to a Geissele trigger !!! Fired over 1,000 rounds through it and have had no issues , on the 30 round mags that it came with I only load 28 rounds instead of 30 rounds and it seems to work fine ... Thank you for your video and yes Radical Firearms AR15 chambered in 762x39 is a good rifle at an affordable price
Nice review. You didn't say what manufacture of magazine you were using. I just picked up my RF-15, took it to the range and fired a bunch of Tula 122 grain steel case using stainless steel 30 round Duramags (3062041205CPD). No feed issues. No eject issues. The rifle functioned flawlessly with the Duramag. The rifle is pretty generic and won't stand out among the other rifles in your safe when it comes to looks, but having the heavy barrel, B5 furniture and a BCG made by Asimuth are big pluses. I do find the trigger pull on this rifle to be a bit heavy and gritty, but hope it works out a bit as the rifle is broken in. For an optic I just slapped an $80 4x32 ACOG clone on it which has worked out just fine. (I wasn't going to pay $1k for an optic on a $400 rifle.) When it comes to ammo it tends to pay to keep stock on hand (not hoard). As far as 7.62x39 goes, I've got about 3k rounds of Wolf and 1k of Tula stored. When prices are up I have plenty to get me by. When prices are lower, that's when I buy and replenish stock. Always on the lookout for deals to maintain comfortable stock levels.
Nice video, I am glad you took it a step further than most by explaining the BCG is larger with a 7.62 than a 5.56. To me the feature of their multi cal lowers, is so tempting to try different uppers. Now one thing with RF, they have a YT pg and tell people only to use brass ammo, is that your choice or do you use steel case? I have seen a couple of YT videos of people trying to use steel case in the 556 and they do get a lot of jams, but not with brass ammo.
@@linkwolfgar4620 The stamp showing the barrel caliber is somewhere around the end of the barrel by the flash hider. On mine it was difficult to see because it was under the hand guard and I had to hunt to find it. But a 7.62 is unique to that size bullet caliber, barrel and chamber, that it can only safely shoot that sized bullet. The confusion can come in with the 5.56 rifles. A 5.56 can also shoot a 223 round or with adapter can also shoot 22LR rounds. But a rifle chambered in 223 can only shoot a 223 round. Now then to add to the mix, a rifle that is a 223 Wylde is a modified chamber that can shoot 5.56 or 223 rounds. Well I am no expert or anything, but after a while all this really does start to make sense.
@@flowermage7299 thanks for reply. Found it. Confirmed its a 7.62 that suvks cause they got more expensive. Now I know why the guy wanted to offload this one for cheap
@@linkwolfgar4620 Well you still may have options. If it's a Mil Spec AR 15 platform like Radical Firearms is supposed to be. You may be able to swap out or change the upper to a 5.56. Well I am guessing the person you bought the rifle from wasn't sure about the caliber,. So I would be concerned about the rifle itself and if it has any mechanical issues or defects. If it is a Radical Firearms product, you might want to consider calling them to find out exactly what the rifle is and what your options for modifying it are. Or to a gun shop, or indoor range. Or you can just stick it in your closet for when and if you'll need it. But again, make sure the thing works like it should or you can really be screwed. If it doesn't work, when and if you really need to use it for personal or home defense. However, I am convinced this is the future, as more people are hungry and broke, cheaper and more rifles will be available for sale. My limited experience is that firearms don't really hold their value for resale, but I could be wrong. Well good luck to you on whatever your situation is with the rifle. and future plans for its' use are.
I hope yk there curved for a reason why do you think ak mags curve no that doesn’t cause a feeding issue and it’s the gun get an enhanced firing pin and new hammer spring idk what you expected from a cheap ar
Having the power of an AK through a platform of an AR just feels way better. You pack more of a punch but can control it exponentially better than through an AK. 5.56 has notoriously lower stopping power than 7.62, but the trade off has always been 5.56 is a smoother shot. This is the middle ground between the two.

I can't find the Cal stamp on the unit. Will is take 556 or only 7.62x39?

Not sure what magazine that is but I’ve had no issue with the duramag variety. Even the 30 rounders.
Really? It’s an AR platform with the straight mags, not rock in mags right?
I scoured a lot of threads and the guys I spoke to in gun stores all had the same issue with the 30 round mags.
@@JacksRifleRacksNah man get the duramag ones for sureeee

I love my aks and my ar10 but i love how this rifle is so light but hits harder than 556
Did you just buy the upper and put on your 5.56 lower?
Yes, but your lower needs to be rated for multiple caliber. It will have it stamped on the magazine well
Why better than a 5.56

Much more knock down
I have had a problems using 30 round mags
