The first acension nodes to buy should be ones related to earning AP in exploration. That way you'll rack up the points by just playing and gain abilities quicker. Example: the nodes for gaining AP by driving and camping are essential.
There's no need to worry about money in the beginning if you keep killing saberhusks. After a few hours I accumulated 99 without even realizing it that sell for over 8000 gil, more than enough for a good heard start. Also sleeping at camps can give you AP if you unlock the corresponded nexus. Very useful in the beginning. I wouldn't worry about motels and hotels until later on when it takes longer to level up.
Kotori-nyan Wat AP gaining abilities are good? I saw one of Ignis one is erm wrap your weapon with an element of whatever weakness the target is vulnerable to !
The first tip they should have gave me is to not buy the game. I did thinking it was an actual Final Fantasy game and came out disappointed, killing enemies while falling half asleep because "COMBOS EQUALS BEING SMARTERER PALAYER!" and there was little strategy or technique really necessary. In other words? Fuck this game and fuck Gamepot for giving it a good review.
LN dude come on the game wasn't that bad as your saying I get it if you bought it for full price on release day but buying it months later when it's not sale it wasn't bad at all
wut? have you never played a video game in your life? this is less of a Beginner's Guide and more of a i dont want to read because im a baby and dont have any common seance yet.
changing battle camera to far CAN be helpful in some fights, but can also be a lot more unhelpful in others if it is in a tight space or has a lot of scenery around (trees etc)
Rudy Yeye yeah the option is there I believe. You dident check the map menu? It's there somewhere. I saw it yesterday forgot how to get it but it's there though..
Chapter 2 was SUPER short, so I kinda saw that the story would fly by if I didn't slow down. So now I'm just driving around doing bounties and side quest. Which has been paying off greatly. I'm leveling up way faster this way.
Beekay Potter Yeah I imagine you can rush right through the story. Though if you do what the game has to offer by you can easily extent time. I spent 8 hours on chapter 1 >_>. I'm on chapter 3 right now and I'm 14 hours in .-.
I'm on chapter 3 and I'm 37 hours in lol. I've literally completed everything I can (including the end game dungeons). I'm around level 54 right now lol.
Valancet Psst, help me out man. I'm looking for the dungeon with the crossbow, the shield and the ninja star .-.. I find in this game you just pop potions like they're your drug >_>.
l finished the game in 34 hours at level 55 with 80+ side quests and 12/13 royal arms collected. Just google their locations. The shield isn't in a dungeon at all so any level player can just go get it. The crossbow is in a dungeon with a level 52 final monster and can't remember where the 3rd one you wanted was.
Saad Al Bloushi For starters camera angle can go against you a lot of times. of course you can fix by options menu. There's the annoying map marker which does not go away upon reaching destination and it always appears after you fast travel. Sure you can get over it, but the developers could have changed it. low res textures of plants, background, ground, grasses, etc. regalia driving is a chore. i know its intended to make it feel atmospheric and but its on the driving experience in itself sucks. bad lip syncing. plot holes.
Saad Al Bloushi Button layout suck and can be confusing. world is empty. regalia end-game upgrade is just a novelty. annoying uncessary cutscenes such as filling up gas in hammerhead (Cindy GTFO and let me play the game), repetitive party banter (they could have just recorded more and put them in) and so on
Brandon Saetern like you know....every other games? the things you said can be said with other games like witcher. and the cindy scenes can be skipped, shows how much you played before judging
So is shared in the ascension grid. Team moves. Very nice! I also heard that the Astrels (Summons) are hidden throughout the world and you have to fight them first before they will help you.
Have a like. Thanks for the video. The Stamina and Far Camera are easily the most helpful things to know when getting into this game... Invaluable information that I would have had no idea to do without watching this video. Thanks, fellas!
They really needed to add a wait option. Night is to dangerous early game since level 30 enemies can just spawn on you, but you want to bank exp for sleeping at fancier inns.
Zer0Hour17 I thought the same thing . As we speak I'm waiting on night so I can do this quest and it takes about 15 minutes to cycle through an entire day. I wish they would've added manual elapse during sleep so we can decide when to wake them up
if you're talking about the hunts that take place at night it gives you the option to wait until night when you accept it. If you didn't do it then you can just cancel the hunt and restart it to wait.
True, that there needs to be one, but if you didn't select it when you first took the mission then you can always take on a different one to cancel the first then re-accept it so that it gives you the option. I agree with you, but I'm just trying to give you a work-around in the meantime.
I was unsure of how I felt about this game when I first started playing it but I have to admit it's growing on me and I'm starting to get addicted. Admirable work by Square Enix!
FF15 best purchase ever.. people say they hate it... I love it.. never played a FF game but by far it's one of the most beautiful games ever alongside the Witcher 3... i love the road trip aspect of it and the guenuine emotion of having buddies to tag along and help you out with... never thought I could get into such a complex franchise with all its past games but i love the game... Good work Square Enix definitely a franchise everyone who loves rpgs should have this in their library
you don't need the ST bar on tho, just pay attention to Noctis' head as it bobs back, that's shows when he's gonna be out of breath soon, the ST bar imo seems like an immersion breaker lol
I just woke up. bout to make my wife's lunch for work then I'm getting to it. I only played 3hrs yesterday and I'm at level 7. man prompto is so weak in HP but he's a beast once you start combining them. yea I'll be on it til I gotta go to work which is at 11pm. yea let's go Noct
MrBrannew20 hes weak Hp wise but man atleast on my game he always lands the killer bloq on big enemies, and also adding that extra ho to hum cas save ur life lol.
MrBrannew20 In my game, Prompto has more HP than Gladio as I unlocked all the accessory slots and stacked multiple HP boosting accessories on him. Currently in the process of doing the same for everyone else.
Love the game right now. Doing every SideQuest. I'm on Ch7 I think. Enjoying every minute. Good guide. Buying and downloading some of Free contents in Store Helps a lot.
Very helpful thumbs up. One problem I have though. When fighting enemies in areas with lots of flora the camera is blocked by bushes. Does the far camera setting help with that?
In the first 4 hours I just played I was able to get everyone to at least level 21, gather 15,000 gil, and get Ramuh and Titan...So I am trying my best to enjoy everything the game offers from hunts to scenery
I've got 12 hours into the game and I'm lvl35. I do tend to side quest stack in rpgs though so I level up quick. I get all the quests and do them all together in groups of the ones closest to each other so when I cash in my xp at the end of each game day I'm getting 8-15k xp.
Burt Macklin Watch Kingsglaive. The movie is pretty damn good and it gives you a much richer background of what's going on. I'm glad I watched it first.
It's actually easier to watch his animations to know when to click it. If you watch the gauge you actually have to click it right before it empties and it still has some. Just turn the gauge off and click when he starts to stagger.
Play the game yourself and explore the world in your pace. Make your own decisions. Do mistakes, it's ok. This is a video game. Forget about stupid guides. You bought the game in order to play it your way, not follow someone else's steps.
let me guide u how to enjoy the game: NEVER fast tralvel,go to ascension -> exploration -> roadrunning,it give u ap for long road trip,u can enjoy all FF seri soundtrack, mine is aerith's theme from ffvii,i've play the game 20hr and only lv 29
So you know how when you tell a party member to use an item in combat, and there's a short animation of them doing it? Is there a way to turn off that animation? it's just really annoying when your fighting 20 enemies at once.
Anyone understand why after I finish the tutorial, it tells me to start a new game, which I do but it then gets to a loading screen and then directs me to my home screen of my Xbox one and I have to restart the game again??? Can anyone help?
Anyone else having problems using items in your inventory? I cant use potions for some reason. :-( I hold down R2 and nothing. I even switch the button layout and I cant seem to use my menu to pop up to use during combat or outside of it. Someone help.
The only ones I've unlocked are Titan and Ramuh (not very far.) I don't know about Titan, but I'm pretty sure Ramuh's trigger is linked to battle duration. The longer you're in battle, the more likely you are to trigger him sort of thing. Like I said, certain conditions apply. You can't just go around bossing summons around.
The pop up never appears on screen except for the scripted times at the end of the game. I want to summon when I want to summon. I was able to use Knights of the Round Table to kill a level 2 floating rose in FFVII, I should be able to do that in FFXV!
David Jones If anyone questions this game after playing it, that means they started with the wrong mindset in the first place. If you're not feeling spontanious bursts of joy, you'll never get it. This game is rich in spirit and is best played by those who spent years of sleepless nights awaiting its arrival. This is not a game you just go and "pick up". That would be like just "picking up" a Chuck Norris katana. You have to know what your playing to appreciate it.
David Jones watch "kingsglaive" the movie to understand the story. And just play the game, don't rush the storyline. I am lvl 69( haha I know), and I am on chapter 6-7(halfway-ish of the whole story). Have done all the side quests and bounties available. And having the time of my life! Just explore!
You got a paycheck at fixed intervals in the game, based on step counter if I remember right, hence why you could move around even during a lot of cutscenes. You could move up in Seed rank and get a bigger paycheck by taking the exams. :)
You got a pay check at a fixed step counter intervals(cheat on ffviii get a chocobo and you will receive the paycheck more often), you never earn gil from defeated monsters or bosses...
At the end of chapter 1 you get a x2 multiple for your experience(if you stay at the hotel) . So don't camp at all, just play through the night. Chapter 2 do all the side quest till there's nothing left than go to the hotel before the final fight. You can easily get to lvl 25 by doing it this way.
Worth 50$? I want a game that I can spend a lot of time in and won't get bored of quickly. Haven't really played final fantasy games so don't known style.
Another PRO tip is to watch the movie Kingsglaive! It will help you understanding the storyline!
The first acension nodes to buy should be ones related to earning AP in exploration. That way you'll rack up the points by just playing and gain abilities quicker.
Example: the nodes for gaining AP by driving and camping are essential.

Wich item to sell. I always afraid selling loots
The first thing you should get in the ascension grid are the AP gaining abilities...
Kotori-nyan under which is it
princeminato Exploration
yeah yeah whatever, I don't need your guide
AmericavJapan 1909 Move along then :)
Kotori-nyan Wat AP gaining abilities are good? I saw one of Ignis one is erm wrap your weapon with an element of whatever weakness the target is vulnerable to !
Came here thinking "oh stupid GameSpot giving new players tips when they're GameSpot" left with a thing or two learned from this video
Yeah, I thought I'd see what stupid or obvious tips they'd give and found a couple that are really useful.
I learned this wasn't a Final Fantasy game anymore. Just an open world hack and slash for new fans and new fans alike.
Once you reach level 14, go to Umbra and go back to the past and complete all the quest level up etc.
i think im gonna have to buy this tomorrow.
Jynzerx its worth it
I'm struggling with this whole eating/sleeping thing. Glad you pointed out it's SLEEP, then EAT before heading out.
changing battle camera to far CAN be helpful in some fights, but can also be a lot more unhelpful in others if it is in a tight space or has a lot of scenery around (trees etc)
DO NOT LET THE CAR RUN OUT OF GAS I REPEAT DO NOT LET THE CAR RUN OUT OF GAS!!!!!
Rudy Yeye why?
Corey Mckee u have to push it to the nearest gas station lol it can easily take 45 real life minutes to achieve
Rudy Yeye WHAT?!?😲😲 u can't just have it towed by Cindy? The option is there already..
Rudy Yeye yeah the option is there I believe. You dident check the map menu? It's there somewhere. I saw it yesterday forgot how to get it but it's there though..
Rudy Yeye I was pushing my car for over an hour last night.
Should be getting my copy tomorrow from amazon I can't wait to play it.
Chapter 2 was SUPER short, so I kinda saw that the story would fly by if I didn't slow down. So now I'm just driving around doing bounties and side quest. Which has been paying off greatly. I'm leveling up way faster this way.

lildanial1 I'm on 4 and 12 hours in lol. Side quest distract me so much but I do think is necessary for me to level up fast before doing missions
The crossbow is in a dungeon with a level 52 final monster and can't remember where the 3rd one you wanted was.
you gave a masterpiece 8/10 and now all of the sudden you care and doing a guide!!
Saad Al Bloushi Game has a lot of nitpicky problems so it's not a masterpiece. But it is a great game.
Brandon Saetern like what and what Nitpicky exactly means ?
Saad Al Bloushi For starters camera angle can go against you a lot of times. of course you can fix by options menu. There's the annoying map marker which does not go away upon reaching destination and it always appears after you fast travel. excellent big needed this and many of us most likely
They really needed to add a wait option. Night is to dangerous early game since level 30 enemies can just spawn on you, but you want to bank exp for sleeping at fancier inns.
there is a wait mode in the settings. there's a whole upgrade path in the ascension grid that actually powers your wait mode actions up.
What are you guys talking about? There's a fking 'wait till night' option smh.
Admirable work by Square Enix!
shit, this game is gorgeous
Happy I learned about the how to change the camera distance.
Great video! I felt a little lost on how to spend my AP, and the stamina bar and far camera really help. Thanks for the tips.
It's best to spend your AP for skills that gives you AP. Beginning of the game is easy and this helps you gain more AP to spend later
REALLY nice tips, thanks a lot seriously
FF15 best purchase ever.. people say they hate it... I love it.. never played a FF game but by far it's one of the most beautiful games ever alongside the Witcher 3... i love the road trip aspect of it and the guenuine emotion of having buddies to tag along and help you out with... never thought I could get into such a complex franchise with all its past games but i love the game... Jon Idoncair Point-warp hanging drains ST. You can know how long until you auto-drop to maximize HP restored.
ah good point, just wish they put the ST bar in a different place
I just woke up. bout to make my wife's lunch for work then I'm getting to it. I only played 3hrs yesterday and I'm at level 7. man prompto is so weak in HP but he's a beast once you start combining them. yea I'll be on it til I gotta go to work which is at 11pm. yea let's go Noct
MrBrannew20 Thanks for the extra info on your life
MrBrannew20 hes weak Hp wise but man atleast on my game he always lands the killer bloq on big enemies, and also adding that extra ho to hum cas save ur life lol.
MrBrannew20 In my game, Prompto has more HP than Gladio as I unlocked all the accessory slots and stacked multiple HP boosting accessories on him. Currently in the process of doing the same for everyone else.
+Veera Kumpulainen yeah I'm obsessed with having high hp. It just looks cool.
Veera Kumpulainen same
im so excited to play this game after work n some homework done
Just finished the game and I agree with everything said in this video!
Important tip: click the right stick > shortcut back to car or last camp
Saved me a lot of mindless running
Some advice: Don't get the Experience Abilities for Chocobo Riding etc. It's 10 Exp every time, for 99AP. Had to find out the hard way.
Day 5 in FFXV: still rolling along
I'm not a beginner but I always watch these just in case. If we come to the moment where we can't be taught anything we're in trouble.
Love the game right now.
Doing every SideQuest. I'm on Ch7 I think. Enjoying every minute.
Good guide.
Buying and downloading some of Free contents in Store Helps a lot.
I don't fully understand the term and combat system. What is tech bar? Can you control the other character during combat?
Guide: Pick your favorite weapons. A lot of them work the same or are half assed, so choose wisely.
A helpful video, thanks Gamespot
I don't need this video, we can do better than gamespot guide
what exactly gets buffed from the magic stat? does it only buff magic (i mean stuff like blizzard) or also the other attacks?
Very helpful thumbs up. One problem I have though. When fighting enemies in areas with lots of flora the camera is blocked by bushes. Does the far camera setting help with that?
thanks for the unlimited sprint technique
In the first 4 hours I just played I was able to get everyone to at least level 21, gather 15,000 gil, and get Ramuh and Titan...So I am trying my best to enjoy everything the game offers from hunts to scenery
Gabby Bih that was fast,i played for 6h and my party only level 11 with 2k gil left, just slow and enjoy the game :p
I guess it depends upon how much you explore
Gabby Bih You aren't telling the truth..
I've got 12 hours into the game and I'm lvl35. I do tend to side quest stack in rpgs though so I level up quick. I get all the quests and do them all together in groups of the ones closest to each other so when I cash in my xp at the end of each game day I'm getting 8-15k xp.
probably ran thru the story
Did this video mention Wait Mode? Needs to. This game has a bit of an issue with the camera in tight spaces. Wait Mode fixes that quite a bit.
50% discount on motels and camps with 1.5 EXP multiplier. So use it as much as possible when farming EXP.
Great video! Genuinely informative and helpful. Keep up the good work.
There is a 3x Multiplier at the second guy at the Altissia Hotel. Costs 30.000 Gil though
Should I watch Kingsglaive before I play the game?
Or is Brotherhood enough?
Burt Macklin both supply back story to the beginning of the game
Burt Macklin they kind of show what happens in the movie but you'll understand it more if you obviously watch the movie yourself.
Burt Macklin Watch Kingsglaive. The movie is pretty damn good and it gives you a much richer background of what's going on. I'm glad I watched it first.
you need to watch both Kingsglaive (backstory for the game's overall story) and Brotherhood (backstories of the 4 main characters)
Great tips thanks 👍
Great video Peter!
Hey, I want to play a White Mage and be a support character. How do I do that?
Can i still discover all the secrets with the umbra function?
That stamina bar tip will prove useful.
It's actually easier to watch his animations to know when to click it. If you watch the gauge you actually have to click it right before it empties and it still has some. Just turn the gauge off and click when he starts to stagger.
Yeah I realize that.
Sooo helpful thanks dude
i dont know how to take off fire spell from gladioulis. its the only spell i have and i need it to fight the beast
L3 when in his equipment menu
Ur a god
To be fair it says that at the bottom of the screen =P
does this video actually have story spoilers because a popup came on screen saying MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS.
Great vid thanks! Quay = 'Key'
Excellent vid. Wish I could like more than once.
so sleep then eat? or eat then sleep? for buffs
Play the game yourself and explore the world in your pace. Make your own decisions. Do mistakes, it's ok. This is a video game. Forget about stupid guides. You bought the game in order to play it your way, not follow someone else's steps.
Korakaris although I agree on you on that, be honest the stamina trick is handy as F! And the wait mode I didn't know till I searched it up.
i needed this ..... thnx bro
I'm trying to play game of war but this one guy keeps kicking my ass
are there indoor areas in the game?
Great tips! Love the game so far.
Actually a very good vid.
let me guide u how to enjoy the game: NEVER fast tralvel,go to ascension -> exploration -> roadrunning,it give u ap for long road trip,u can enjoy all FF seri soundtrack, mine is aerith's theme from ffvii,i've play the game 20hr and only lv 29
So you know how when you tell a party member to use an item in combat, and there's a short animation of them doing it? Is there a way to turn off that animation? it's just really annoying when your fighting 20 enemies at once.
Great video!
do bounties expire? i just got the game on sale
games great folks give it a chance
Anyone understand why after I finish the tutorial, it tells me to start a new game, which I do but it then gets to a loading screen and then directs me to my home screen of my Xbox one and I have to restart the game again??? Can anyone help?
what happens when noctis dies. Also what happens when one of the group members dies. as in do you get them back
How come I can only use control A & B but not c? Can anyone help ?
didnt tabata said before that the car can follow you where ever you go? so is that in the game?
Ken Neth no using it takes away from the game tbh. but it flies later in the game
+CashNasty Forhead got it now. when ur on the road you can make cindy deliver the car to where u are as long as your on the road. but it cost 100gil.
Anyone else having problems using items in your inventory? I cant use potions for some reason. :-( I hold down R2 and nothing. I even switch the button layout and I cant seem to use my menu to pop up to use during combat or outside of it. Someone help.
I like the game so far, but I do have some issues with it. mainly with the story.
If you don't have the game BUY IT
Wish I would’ve say this 6 years ago when I bought it I gave up fast lol
What Chapter and how many hours are you on everyone?
NakedNinja0717 Co. chapter 5 and 12hr25 min.
NakedNinja0717 Chapter 6 29 hours and lvl 39 on everyone
Story complete, level 62, hunter level 7
Chapter 3 and 11 hours. I've been trying to get every quest done before moving on
And don't forget to watch Kingsglaive to catch up with the story! :)
I want to play this so badly, i have the deluxe edition but i got sick one day before it came out. >;O *Sigh*
good vid
Quay is pronounced 'key'.
Exactly!
I can't tally my experience it keeps stacking but can't cash it in when I camp, rest, or motel smh
how do I summon? It says LT, but it never works. what's up?
The Ignorant Expert just hold it but don't get hit it takes pretty long to summon
Artistic Stormtrooper dude, I have stood in the same spot for a couple minutes and nothing. I've summoned once in the entire game.
Ethan Upton he's talking about when the summon button appears on screen
The pop up never appears on screen except for the scripted times at the end of the game. I want to summon when I want to summon. I was able to use Knights of the Round Table to kill a level 2 floating rose in FFVII, I should be able to do that in FFXV!
I'm still waiting for my Amazon order to arrive. so annoyed that it's delayed and late.
amazon is SUCKS in my opinion. I can only buy on the local website, fill my home address with free shipping fast at least 2 or 3 days arrive.
it's delayed because of black friday
InvisibleWombat FlyingSeel why order?
AquaLady 420 I had an Amazon gift card and I wanted the Amazon preorder bonuses. lol but I finally got it.
Games amazing
Bro everytime i warp I keep losimg health and I don’t know why that keeps happening
You may be using a royal weapon, they drain health when used!? 🤔
Beginners guide to speaking English gamespot the word quay is pronounced "key" not "kway"
Welcome to Galdin Key!
It killed me when he pronounces quay as exactly that. "Qway" When it's pronounced, "Key."
GOLDEN QWAY
Yay
So, is the map really small to anyone else? Is there another, bigger map? Because the map falls way short of the promises made by Nomura.
1Kenny30 indeed
1Kenny30 the map is fine to me. just press R3 yo open the full map
NEAT
Just played it for an hour. Not into it all. Anyone have any tips for me?
just learn to use the warp strike constantly and try doing some hunt they are quite fun
David Jones it'll grow on you, was thinking of selling it at first, hooked after chapter 1
You have to know what your playing to appreciate it.

no longer drop gil? didnt play XIII?
or FFVIII
Ricardo Fernandes oh yeah u got Gil in that one from seed missions right ?
you got paid every so often based on your seed rank.
Don't camp!!!!! at the beginning of the game the first three chapters save all your XP till the end they can multiply x 2 and x 3
till the end of each chapter? or end of chapter 3? ive not played the game yet,but looking out here for all the tips i can find

_Final Fantasy_: teaching young boys that it's OK to be gay :)
Not really considering the game is about getting Noctis to his wife to be Luna.
its ok be gay whit your "friends" and asian weaboos meanwhile your wife cooking at home.
Made me laugh this one :D
They're not gay. Anybody who says they are obviously isn't playing the game or you'd know better.
This joke is getting old. I never understood why people think that guys camping together is "gay".
"Golden Quay" - Quay is pronounced like "Key"
