Thanks, You're very welcome. It is better to use a more solid part such as suspension sub-mount or engine sub-frame You have to make sure It won't slip. Buy a slotted rubber puck designed for use with the trolley jack for the sill, then put an axle stand under the engine sub-frame :-)
Good point Don't think I mentioned in the video. It is recomended 5W 30 for this engine and year in UK. This can be different in other countries as 5W 40 is more viscous at higher temperatures. Go with the recommended type for your country :-)
I agree, they do seem remarkably similar, as do many VAG cars. These cars seem to share many small parts and assemblies, but the block and head will be different, by how much may make an interesting video :-) one is 1.6 105hp the other 2.0 170hp
This model went upto 2013. If your engine is the 8PA or 8P1 1.6tdi 90 or 105hp it is the same. the 110hp,115hp is slightly different. I will put links in the video for the filters etc
This is a Mk2 generation 1.6 engine, The Mk3 1.6 engine will be similar overall I believe, but you need to check for the correct oil and filters for your exact engine :-)
Washing up bowl mate yeah missis will look for it 🙈🙈🙈🙈 I do the same 😂😂😂😂😂 just be careful with it that 1.6 is not as nice to get to as mine 1.9tdi e so far on mine 135k got all the filters and oil replaced next on my list is the front strut great wid💪💪💪👍👍👍
Thanks for watching. The 1.6 is a bit limp on low end power compared to your 1.9TDI which are great motors. Good luck with the front strut and yes they are a bit💪💪 to do, especialy in cold wet weather :-)
O have been strangling with that front strut got my mechanic to replace it spend 1 day at it not an easy task well my car hitt 140 k time for oil change 9k done no major issues just that strut and door wiring broke got that fixed looking forward to 150 k
Thanks! About to change my oil for the first time

Thanks, great informative video. Is it safe to jack the car up using a trolley jack at the same position you have done with the scissor jack?
