  • Carrying out a general engine service on my cousins 2019 Audi A3 1.6 TDI with the EA288 engine.
It seems a reasonably easy car to carry out a service on, although diagnostic equipment was required to correctly bleed the fuel system when the fuel filter was removed. I was following an Audi workshop manual pdf that i had sourced online which stated that diagnostic equipment was required.
In this instance i used the Kingbolen Ediag Plus to for that part of the job and it worked very well at doing that. A link for the device is below:

I will not make any promises on that one, i got the car in March 2022, but it developed issues with its lucas pump in the summer and i started the process of removing it and getting the bosch parts from a 405 engine. I think ive the footage of the lucas pump coming off.
Although then i went and done a masters between September 2022 to September 2023 and then didnt really get back to this 406 until January of 2024. The pump came back off and was rebuilt by a chap in England. I have it on currently, it needs a bit of a tune as its quite leisurely but still nice to drive. I will definitely do a timing belt video but just not sure about the actual pump conversion. I dont think i recorded anything of the Bosch going back on.

Where is the coolant from the reservoir?

      Hi there,
May i ask what do you mean? Fresh coolant was poured into the cooling circuit via the reservoir.

8:52 there is no coolant in the reservoir. Thats not something you should top up unless there is a leak somewhere

Ah apologies there is a separate timing belt video (I mistakenly thought that was what was being commented on) a cambelt change was going on at the same time and the way the video has been edited it appears the coolant is low here but i can assure you the car left filled with coolant. I seem to have pulled footage at some point that was during the cambelt change both jobs were done at the same time but edited into separate videos
