🍄What makes a mushroom “medicinal”?
All medicinal mushrooms have polysaccharides, and they are all different shapes. These compounds interact with our bodies in different ways, which is why you can think of each mushroom as having its own "super power."
Other than polysaccharides, mushrooms also contain phenols, sterols, triterpenes and more- which can all benefit our health in different ways.
🍄CORDYCEPS (CORDYCES MILITARIS)
Cordyceps is known as the "energy mushroom" and is typically used for supporting energy and endurance.
The traditional Cordyceps species is called Cordyceps sinensis, and actually grows on bugs way high in the tibetan plateau. It is INSANELY expensive and rare, and can net up to $20,000 per kg.
Luckily there is another species (Cordyceps militaris) that can acutally be cultivated, and is what is used in mushroom supplements today. It has a very similar profile to the traditional species, with one important difference- it is way higher in a compound called "Cordycepin".
This compound is really interesting because it is structurally similar to adenosine, which makes ATP (adenosine triphosphate) the molecule responsible for cellular energy production.
🍄CHAGA (INONOTUS OBLIQUUS)
The most fascinating thing about Chaga is that it isn't technically a mushroom.
It is a "sterile conk" that is made up of birch wood and the mycelium of Chaga. This is important, because some of the active compounds responsible for the benefits of Chaga are a direct result of the fact that it grows on birch trees.
Chaga needs to be wildcrafted, and can't be cultivated to any reasonable degree.
Extracts of Chaga have traditionally been used for digestive health, but this "mushroom" is also used for skin health.

Hi,
As a mushroom grower I used to grow many medicinal mushrooms like Ganoderma lucidum, Lions mane, Shitake. Also preparing our lab setup for spwan production so that we get more hands-on experience on varieties like Turky tail, mitake and Cordicep militris.
In edible mushrooms we do Oysters and Milky round the year.
Reshi mushroom and Psyclocybin cubensis are my favorite. I did 10gram Psyclocybin dosing once, words are less to express the feeling, however thanks to Reshi for keeping me immune form cough and cold. :)
I love them all! They all have their benefits. It's not fair to choose one. Congrats on the 100k.

Morels and Chaga are my favorite medicinal mushrooms ,1000's of others but these are my favorites to forage and use due to the abundance in my VT woods

I absolutely LOVE that they've time-stamped the topics they cover in the video !!
Turkey Tail is currently helping me with autoimmune issues! It’s honestly the perfect one for me these days, but I also looove me some Cordyceps for a PreWorkout
My favorite medicinal mushroom is Lion's Mane. I grow it and it always makes me happy when I see the little fruitings. Second favorite (haven't produced any yet) is Cordyceps, as that's what is used to make Gilenya (my fiance has MS).
Lion's Mane is really fun to grow!
I've heard about chaga before but only just finally got some last week and I think it tastes like birch, I found it really hard to grind and after trying a lot of different things I'm using a cheese grater but the smaller side. I really like mixing it wth green tea. Chaga is my new favorite.
I use the chaga right now, getting into the Reshi now. Your videos are very informative 👍🏻😊
In Russia we knew about chaga and many ppl in Russia but mostly in Siberia region always used chaga as a medical tea, for health benefits. Especially elderly people, who heard it from their grandpas.
Hey I like your videos ! I look for energy and Immunity so CS4 and Chaga could be a great combo ? (Need to add Reishi too?) What brandsdo you advise ? Thanks
I have a good size patch of chanterelles. We're having a really dry hot spell right now. Should I water my baby chanterelles at all to help them along? I've never gotten to harvest them before. Either they fail to grow big enough or, last year I went away for one hot dry weekend and came home to shriveled up shrooms.
Thank you for sharing the knowledge. Ian fairly new to growing and your videos have helped me .My favorite species are cordeyceps and lions mane
Glad you like the videos!!
you dont seem as excited when your wife adds something to the convo...but shes bright and bubbly and brimming with enthusiasm and knowledge!!!

Newly discovered you. Thanks for sharing this info. Fav mushroom? Chaga. Its in my coffee.
there seems to be more white fungus growing on top of my cordyceps militaris when I kept them a bit longer in the fridge... js that a cause for concern or could I just still cook it in a pot for soup?

We love Chaga tea & Chaga hunting keeps us out in the woods❤️

I have just started the cultivation of cordycep millitary . What should be the recommended cordycepin level of fruiting body & guide me if it varies according to substrate selection, liquid culture or addition of extra chemical nutrients or vitamins to it. Thanks
Hi, thank you for the great presentation of cordyceps. I'm little curious about it's benefits for a stroke patient? I got stroke 2019 and are still (2022) suffering from it. As I understand, the adonesis could provide some kind of healing?
Cud u plz tell me wat kinda blue light that u r talking abt.any specific name of the blue light.plz do respond.does growing cordycep in low temp.as low as 13degincrease the cordycipine levels
Congratulations.. For 100k

I love reishi the most, they are beautiful. Still want to try it someday same as all the other mushrooms features in this channel. It's a shame you dont find much variety in mushrooms in my country. Also, what are the restrictions on the giveaway, if any?
So guys I have a cordyceps "sinensis" product by Solaray, but I didnt pay anything close to what you're describing. Would it be safe to say that its incorrectly labeled, and that I most likely in fact have militaris?
what uup bulah i wuz ur 1st sub i subbed even be4 u
Psilocibe Cubensis for sure! Changed my life and my perspective on how to love and connect with earth and my fellow human brothers and sisters ❤️
Chaga is my all time favorite as well as the beauty of the tree it is grown on the amazing birch.

My favorite has got to be chaga swapping it for coffee atm soo much energy 🥰
Chaga and reishi are two of my favorites. I haven't tried cordyceps yet!
Corydceps is my favourite mushroom because I heard how good it is so I tried it
awesome
Just an idea for future projects: would love to see you cook up some dishes using gourmet mushrooms. I’ve watched your other videos on cultivation and they’re inspiring. Unfortunately, I don’t have the appropriate environment and space for storage and equipment so I’m bummed out on the opportunity to start. At least I’m enjoying watching your channel grow.
My most favorite medicinal mushroom is Chaga. So many health benefits and tastes so good.
I've been using Chaga to replace coffee, and liking it. Congratulations on 100,000 subscribers!
Chaga is awesome! And thanks, we are stoked on 100k!
How much do you take to replace coffee
Thank you for this video. Adenosine is something I’ve observed being used to slow the heart rate of patients within critical care which may explain its endurance enhancing effects as heart gets more oxygen during diastole phase which is longer when heart beats slower and shorter when it beats fast. I used to work on an ICU as a pharmacist so a little insight from that point of view.
Lions mane & reishi are my favorite. Looking forward to trying chaga, tremella & turkey tail.
Hi I am enjoying the work you do for all of us to lear about the world of mushrooms and the help they provide to improve our life’s and make our bodies and inmune systems stronger for fight agains all types of sickness and environmental poisoning due to chemicals and other agents! Keep on doing that everyday please.
Congratulations on your 100k subs. Lions
Mane is one of my favs.
thank you!
My favorite medicinal mushroom is Lions Mane. Thanks for such an informative video!
cordy has been helping my father recover from covid your great tony you've helped alot thru my myco life
amazing to hear!
also, i think it is very important to state that chaga should not be taken continuously, or at least that people should be wary of its extremely high oxalic acid content, which can lead to kidney stones.
I wish you good sales. Best regard to both you!
Congrats
Please help me out where best place to buy the mushroom your talking in pill form
Lion's mane is my favorite... it not only has great medicinal qualities, it's delicious as well!!
My favorite is reishi by far!! It makes me very calm.
nice, glad you found it helps :)
I have never heard of cordyceps being eaten as a freeze dried snack. Is this a common preparation? Does the freeze-drying process 'cook' the mushroom or change its properties in anyway so that you lose the benefits?
Mushrooms with psylocibin would be the most medicinal imo. Reishi and Lion's Mane are great too!
