    hello, thanks for your video, it's very informative.
    I'm planning to open Freight Brokerage Company that targeting Canada and US. I don't own truck, but will have parternership with truckers. In this plan, do I still need to apply for below permit/certificates? I think below is for trucking company who own trucks, right?
    - IRD
    - IFTA
    But, as bright broker, I still need to have below things, correct? If I miss anything, could you please let me know? Thanks in advance !
    - CVOR
    - MC/DOT
    - BOC-3
    - UCR
    - Cargo Insurance
    - Surety Bond

    Hi...good video...just to know.....If being an Owner, If I start trucking company (with 3-5 used but good quality trucks +3-4 used trailers) and I do not want to drive by myself and rather recruiting a good drivers, will it be profitable business in long run? Can i get insurance and bank finance (with appropriate down payment). Pls share your thoughts.

    • @truckadium
      @truckadium  2 года назад

      Thanks for the feedback. What you mentioned is doable however insurance requirements are different for different provinces and there is good business planning required. There are also other options in trucking where you can start a profitable and lower risk business like independent truck dispatching or freight brokerage and eventually get into getting your own trucks
      We do offer some training courses as well related to this. You can check the details here

    is it the company driver's responsbility to ensure these any/all permits are up to date?

    • @truckadium
      @truckadium  Год назад

      Overall it is Carrier's responsibility to ensure all permits are up to date. However, everyone need to play a part and take ownership including drivers :-)

    Do canadian carriers have to submit w9 form to brokers with FEIN or is it w8-ben for canadians??
    Thanks for your help

    • @truckadium
      @truckadium  2 года назад +2

      W-8BEN is for individuals and W-8BEN E is for corporations. Ideally the form required is W-BEN E with FEIN/EIN number for Canadian Carriers to send to US Freight Brokers

    Can i buy 2 or 3 trucks and put the trucks under an existing trucking company to manage for me??

    • @truckadium
      @truckadium  9 месяцев назад

      That is possible, however there is a lot more planning required before you end up investing in trucks. We would recommend to do some research on your own or take up a truck dispatcher course to get an understanding of the trucking industry before buying trucks

    do you have the website links for all these certificates you need for your own authority?

    • @truckadium
      @truckadium  Год назад

      There is no one website link. It varies from province to province and state to state in the US. Also there are different. You can google each permit name based on state/province and you should be able to find the information. In certain provinces in Canada, we also provide consulting services to get all authorities and permits.

    And which province would you recommend to register and why ?

    • @truckadium
      @truckadium  Год назад +2

      You should typically register in the province you are resident of as there more than registering the company. You also need to understand how will you be managing your trucking operations. Different provinces have their own pros and cons for example Ontario has the biggest trucking industry however is also the one of the most difficult province to get insurance.

    • @truckadium
      @truckadium  Год назад +1

      As long as you have dedicated runs, it should be fine. You do not see too many power only loads on loadboards.

    Do you need a Canadian Authority or CRA to drive a truck from US to Canada?

    • @truckadium
      @truckadium  2 года назад

      For US trucking companies operating in Canada is little more complex than Canadian companies operating in US. In Canada trucking rules and regulations vary based on the province. For example if you plan to travel to Ontario you can find the requirements here about CVOR certificate
      www.fmcsa.dot.gov/international-programs/canada/us-carriers-cmvs-operating-ontario-072017
      www.fmcsa.dot.gov/international-programs/canada/canadian-federal-requirements
      Besides this you will also need to understand border crossing procedures and will need to know getting Carrier Code from CBSA and SCAC Code from CBP and understand PARS/PAPS and ACE/ACI emanifest process

    What permits do you need for just dispatching loads to owner operators in Ontario Canada?

    • @truckadium
      @truckadium  Год назад

      If you are asking about Independent Truck Dispatchers, they do not need any permits. Owner operator you want to dispatch needs to have all trucking authorities and permits as mentioned in the video.

We do provide detailed training which covers all aspects including how to start independent truck dispatching business in Canada. There are many people doing it in Canada and USA, so there ways for it

    • @truckadium

      NIR is required for the province of Quebec and we do not do applications for Quebec. Also NSC is required in different provinces in Canada like Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and other provinces and application process is different for each province. In Ontario requires CVOR and not NIR or NSC.
