I was impressed with it and the layout. Shame not a touch closer to where I live or I would visit a lot more frequently now part of the Link UK group like Tapton.
@@roberthudson3571 I will try venture to the other link golf uk courses as well. Think most others situated manchester way and Blackpool. So May be a visit for next spring now.
Golfing gem.. used to play here and Allestree GC (closed down - proper gem) 😢 in the late 80’s. Trees have grown 😂 would love to return. I might arrange a reunion for my golfing schoolmates.. ❤
Allestree was lovely, Harry Colt design (I think) and should’ve had investment to make it a top venue. But alas it’s gone. Anyway great content, I’ve subscribed as local and looking forwards to other course vlogs going forward. 19.2 h’cap non-member, happy to join you if you need a playing partner or a guest to explore courses. 👍
@@duncand1964thank you. Really appreciate that. Few vlogs from last year in the channel. Have Morley hayes back 9 and sickelhome pencilled in for filming next week. Once golfing gems season 2 I will be looking for some fun subscriber games etc. speak soon.
Golfing Gem, Looks like a good course may have to go over for a round as I’m local ish. If you plan on doing more of these I’d recommend Rushcliffe Currently a member there, super fun course with a mix of hole designs which can be challenging. Each hole is unique which is good fun. Greens are perfect and roll fast. Would be cool to see how you like it. Happy to take you round as a guest if preferred 👌
Thank you. I’ve not heard of that one. Will def check it out. If don’t get to film it this season then 100 percent next season. And will try take you up on that guest game.
@@golfmaddad79 sounds good, definitely worth the short drive. Possibly the most intimidating first tee shot I’ve ever played and it doesn’t get easier 🤣
Golfing gem. I grew up close to this course, so it was a nostalgic watch for sure. Great round, sir! I feel somewhat robbed having only just come across your channel! Here now, anyways. Cheers and my very best to you.
Thank you. Really appreciate the comment. So makes the hours spent making these videos worthwhile when receive messages like this. Glad you enjoyed and I’m glad I found this course.
Let me know if you do and enjoy it. Played front 9 after. Wasn’t as tight as thought after being told, but def a couple of tough longer fiddle holes. Def be visiting again soon now I’ve seen the coirse.
As a member, I've seen the course improve over the past few years.ive played tapton and enjoyed it..apart from the hills lol,and your right when you say sinfin is all about accuracy. Front 9 is definitely harder. Keep up the good work.
Thank you. The hills are hard when carrying cameras as well at Tapton lol played the front 9 after I had used the drone. Enjoyed it. Little tighter for sure, but I play Bondhay a lot so nothing seems as tight lol
Def a little tight in places, although I play a lot of golf and film a lot at Bondhay so it actually felt a lot more open than what I thought on some of the holes I had been told about lol
I agree with tapton statements .club house looks great .pool table a nice touch. new carts are great. and ofcourse the main bit the course is going from strength to strength.all and all link golf are doing an amazing job .oh and golfing gem 😂
Hi, you have won the free 4 Ball at Derby Golf course. I will also announce it on the Golf Mad Dad facebook page. Drop me a DM on FB or email me on hello@golfmaddad.co.uk we can take it from there. Thanks Andy
Hope you played the front nine too! A bit tougher than the back nine. The wet winter and spring meant that the greens really suffered but hopefully Link Golf will do some improvements to the drainage and get the greens good again.
I did actually after I had finished the drone filming. Enjioyed it. Little tighter but I play at Bondhay a lot so nothing seems right in comparison. And with the wet weather, absolutely, most clay base courses have suffered this year for sure. Hopefully a little less wetter winter this year.
@@87morgyif you play it let me know what you think. I was impressed from the reviews I had been seeing. Enjoyed the layout. And they had cut all the rough back under the trees etc.

@@golfmaddad79 yes it was a part of SIV , Sheffield council, along with Tapton. Sadly we can’t play them now, with the membership. I miss em. Ha ha.

Sounds like a plan with the reunion :) and I didn’t play Allestree before it closed unfortunately. Sad to see when golf courses close.

Golfing gem , a lot of mature over planted trees along edges of fairways again so it’s irons off tees. Interesting to see after 30 years.
