Love it. Came here to see how "easy" it is to make one at home...... Not as easy as I thought! Would've been great if you had put a small island in the middle of the river! 👍
Thank y'all so much for a video that actually explains what you did and how you did it. Also, the materials you used in the process. So many "how to" videos don't even tell you "how to" do it, even though their video had it in the title.
Very cool. Excellent clear cut instructions compared to other vids on the subject, and the re-cap of all needed materials/tools at the end is very helpful. I'm planning to do a resin pour project next year or later this year, and first watching lots of how-to vids to educate myself how it's done, since it's something I've never done before. Your vid is among the very best, if not the best, I've seen on the subject. Added to my DIY playlist, and will watch this again just prior to my epic experimental project! :)
This is really a very well explained video. Most of the videos are not that explanatory. Thanks. I will ask for suggestions once I start with my resin table.
Hello, I am writing a comment in Korea. I have seen a lot of Rivertable work videos, but I haven't seen the perfect work If it's really beautiful and close, I'd like to meet it. It might be weird to post it on a translator. Please understand. These days, I'm into the Rivertable, and I'm looking for a lot of videos, so I'm setting up my subscription and alarms.Thank you for the good video.
Well done! It must be a real joy to make a table like that and I'd love to do it the trouble is everything's going to be a five minute job until I start it!! Again well done, lovely work. Kind regards . . . Andy
Love this so much I picked up live edge wood today and will be starting on my project! Thank you for making this great video!! (From Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA)
Loving the end results👌 when shall we ever get there in terms of technology. ..wish you can get a chance to bring such in kenya that would be of help to many artisans!
Amazing very informative and well narrate. God bless and more power. Thank you for helping us. Hope I can buy that brand here in Philippines seems nice and beautiful outcome
Dear Sir, It was such a delight seeing your works. I am planning to setup a small workshop here in my country. It would be great if I can get some insight and advise from you.. Thanks in advance.
great+thorough explanations, makes me want to try it myself, sadly i have nearly none of the equipment.....damn, i wish there was some kind of workshop around here where you can pay to do your project using their tools ;-(
Hi there!!, I love Your video!, is very thorough!!, with understanding!, so I will support Your webpage if You have!, because You were so kind as to share with others your success!, and your creations is very beautifull!!, I congratulate Your artistic imaginations!!, we done!!, good person!! 👍👍👍
This is AMAZING! I am about to start my first epoxy project and this was VERY helpful. Are there temperature parameters for the epoxy to cure properly? For example, right now my garage will be 38c during the day. Is that too hot for the epoxy to cure properly?
Hi Brande, at 38C the resin will cure a lot faster and cause exotherm release. Therefore you need to lower the mixed to 5 litres or less, or work at night when its cooler.
Two quick questions. 1. What is the releasing agent used for these types of resins. 2. Before the pour, did he silicone the wood to the base to hold in place and seal the bottom, or is that done by the stand offs alone
Hi Berry - 1. The release agent used on the melamine is called "Mirror Glaze" it's buffed on, left for 5 minutes and then buffed off before the pour. 2. The edges of the mould have Caulk around them, and another bead is run about 2 inches back from the river, on both the top and bottom, and then it's clamped down, to stop the wood from floating. I hope that helps. Scott - Eli-Chem
I do not know if you will get this comment.. But was wondering about the strength of the table where the wood and resin meet? I does not need any reinforcing? or is is more fragile than normal? I am planning to make something similar soon but am trying to find all I can first before my attempt to increase the odds of success on the first run.
Hi - The strength of the bond between the resin and wood is exceptional, so that's not a concern, however if you are building a large dining table, it can be a good idea to use some metal plating underneath to help support and limit the chance of any bowing. The table we made in this video is 600mm x 900mm x 25mm and did not require and addition support.
@@EliChemResinsUKLtd Thanks for the information..every bit helps.. I am going to do a coffee table this spring (I m looking for some nice wood now) Plus the idea of bowing had never entered my mind.. The coffee table will not be a problem.. But if it turn out as expected a dining room table would be next.. Thanks again and Merry Christmas.
Daaaaaaaang! Now THAT'S a radial arm saw! So, am I correct in converting your formula to Imperical of: (Yard's X Yard's X Inches = Gallons)? Very good video! Easy to follow. Big Thumbs up! Love the Big Bearded guy!
Hi there sir ! I was wondering, how do you calculate the quantity of coloring you use ? That is the only detail missing for that part imo. Thanks a lot ! that's great work you're doing. I appreciate the patience you have there.
Hi - we don't have a calculation for colour addition, it's very much done by eye, add a few drops, give it a stir and see if you want the colour stronger. start small as you can always add more but can't take it out
HI ELI how are doing realy you did avery good job at that river table 2 quick question please total of epoxy is 4.5 L how much you in the bucket of the resine / hardene how many bucket do you used l am sorry my brain is too slow to inderstsnd please l waite for you answer and keep goine for good job god blesse you have agood day
Forgot, if i scuff up the edges after i seal them to add more bondage, will they be visibly scuffed through the resin after the finished product with this type of effect? Thanks so much if u do actually answer! -Cheers from montreal
What is a rough estimate of cost of materials for this project? And how much time does it take? Thank you great video. Very clear instructions like everyone has said.
Hi - it's hard to put a cost on the wood, as it really varies depending on your local stockists, this was elm, so wasn't hugely expensive, but it's worth speaking to your local sawmill for costs. The resin used in the video was 5.8L - we have a 7.5L kit available for £149.40 Thanks
Hi Seth, No the resin isn't covered over the entire top of the wood - it flows over the edges probably 3-4cm during the pour, and into any cracks or knots in the wood. When the table is then routed after it comes out of the mould, it takes it back so the resin is only in the river and the wood is completely exposed.
The best and simplest video of this process I've seen so far. Thanks so much for making this guys

Stunning. That table kinda looks like a high altitude shot of a river flowing through a desert.
Very cool. Excellent clear cut instructions compared to other vids on the subject, and the re-cap of all needed materials/tools at the end is very helpful.

Dear Sir, It was such a delight seeing your works. I am planning to setup a small workshop here in my country. It would be great if I can get some insight and advise from you.. Thanks in advance.
awesome! :) beautiful table!
This is fantastic! I’m curious: if I wanted get the wood to be a black matte finish , how would I do that while keeping the resin glossy and polished?
Hi - Perhaps a black wood stain would be your best bet? Build your river table and polish then resin, then add the stain, that's what i'd do I think
Try burning a la Japanese method
great+thorough explanations, makes me want to try it myself, sadly i have nearly none of the equipment.....damn, i wish there was some kind of workshop around here where you can pay to do your project using their tools ;-(
this video is nicely done. thanks

Hi very informative video thanks for sharing. What was the release agent used on the melamine wood between that and the project, thanks
Hi Paul, the release agent used is called Mirror Glaze - buff it on, leave it 5 minutes and then buff it off.
Great job i like it
Awesome 👌🆒️

Amazing table ! Where do u get your metal legs and next time can u do a complete project including the installation of the legs.
The legs are just bolted on, they were made by a metal fabricator
Superb; keep going.
Thank you, we will !

Hi George - all kit sizes are available at www.elichem.co.uk this table was made using the 7.5L kit
fabulous! what a great explanatory video. Looking forward to viewing your work in my new subscription. God Bless
absolutely amazing, i love the music man. do you have links for the music?
amazzzzzzing
Many thanks.
Which resin is best for making table? Epoxy or polyester? Any reasons would be really beneficial 🙏
A low reactivity, slow-curing epoxy resin is best.
Daaaaaaaang! Now THAT'S a radial arm saw! So, am I correct in converting your formula to Imperical of: (Yard's X Yard's X Inches = Gallons)? Very good video! Easy to follow. Big Thumbs up! Love the Big Bearded guy!
Your calculation sounds, right, but I'd be lying if I said it was definitely correct, as we don't use Yards, Inches & Gallons. Sorry.
My works too. Used Avasva handbooks and build it with no problems.
Hi there sir !
I was wondering, how do you calculate the quantity of coloring you use ? That is the only detail missing for that part imo. Thanks a lot ! that's great work you're doing. I appreciate the patience you have there.

Super👍
HI ELI
how are doing
realy you did avery good job at that river table
2 quick question please
total of epoxy is 4.5 L
how much you in the bucket of the resine / hardene
how many bucket do you used
l am sorry my brain is too slow to inderstsnd please l waite for you answer and keep goine for good job
god blesse you
have agood day
Forgot, if i scuff up the edges after i seal them to add more bondage, will they be visibly scuffed through the resin after the finished product with this type of effect? Thanks so much if u do actually answer! -Cheers from montreal

Love the video and the belt ;)
So glad!
During the large pour, do you allow it to go over the wood? It looks like the entire surface is covered in resin, not just he "river" part.
