I have the BoboVR B2 dock attached to my headstrap with velcro, and the charging dock as well. The back of my headstrap doesn't bother me at all and I kinda prefer the more minimalistic looking original design over that big headcup on the back. I also think they could have included an audio jack in the design. If I hadn't already gotten the B2, I would probably buy this, but for people who want to save some money I highly recommend the B2 dock, it's a clean install, and provides all the functionality.
Thanks for the video! I have my BOBOVR B2+dock, but I also have an eye on this one from the video. Like you've already said, the one you got is the only option, and you're forced to pay £100, so that's a no-go for me :( I paid $40 for my battery+dock, so I still think that two batteries, dock, head strap, and back cushion are worth the price. If it was an option, I would gladly give some $20-ish for everything except the batteries.
Thanks for the review Andy. I agree with you, they should offer this battery strap upgrade without the charging dock. I already have one and I'm using the B2 dock for my Pico 4 at the moment. There's absolutely no need for me to have 2 charging docks lying around. BOBOVR, give us options please!
Just ordered my pico4 (surprisingly it was available in the states on ebay). Ditching my quest2 when it arrives in a few days. Also paid the $115ish US for the bobovr combo. Sadly it's coming from China, but super excited! Great review by the way!
Apparently, bobo vr is bringing out a soft leather facial interface with a ventilation fan just as they did with the quest 2. I can imagine that too will be over-priced
No thanks NO way. One of the biggest selling point's of the Pico 4 is the light weight so why make it heavier. Also I bought the Bobovr in December after they release their first version to fit the pico 4 and I found the back of my head was getting extremely hot. However great review mate.
Today its much cheaper ($79US) and its definitely worth the money. The charging dock is nice touch and the magnets make charging and hot swapping packs so convenient.
Not sure when it came out since I only bought my pico 4 a few days ago, but the do have an option without the dock and with only a single battery for 50 euros
Is there no way to get the headstrap separately? They do seem to sell it separately for the Quest 2, but I haven't been able to find it for the Pico 4. I already bought a BoboVR battery long before this came out. And paying 120 euros for essentially a headstrap that can hold a battery is a bit too much for me to justify. I wouldn't use the dock or the other 2 batteries. And I can't exactly sell them either since not enough people in my country would be willing to buy these. Heck, it doesn't even come with a face cover. I think it's a quality product, but the extreme price thanks to including things I don't need is what kills it for me.
Thanks for the review. How do you know when the battery is almost depleted? Does the remaining power % show up inside the headset? Is it possible to charge one battery to full capacity during the time it takes to use the 2nd for potentially continual non-interrupted use?
Can you try if one of those cables that allow charging while playing by pluggin in another cable into that cable on the Pico 4? theyre made for Quest 2 but I think it should work? they use the same Amps just Pico has a bigger battery so I dunno- could be a nice alternative- evne tho its wired
I use a power bank in an ammo pouch on my belt, no problems at all as cable is round the back and not overly long. It is also capable of charging the Pico4 while still playing games, Bobo has very limited power to do that. You could also get 5 powerbanks that are double the capacity of the Bobo's for their price.
I'm still wavering over the £100 price tag, as in most cases I get by with a cacking long cable running from the charger, to where I sit. I don't have the Bobo for my Q2, but I already have an 8,000mah strap for that, so I don't have the objection of duplicating the batteries. I may yet go for it though, we'll see.
@@AndyMorphs Yeah, I'd probably have no issue with it once I had it, but it seems like an expensive solution to a problem that I don't really have. If the 20% low power warning comes up, I plug in the charger and carry on (or start off with the charger plugged in if I'm about to start a particularly fiendish Puzzling Places puzzle, that can take hours). I do like the look of the new backplate. That would keep the back of my head cooler, but then I wonder it it would still fit in my case, as it looks larger than the original. Then there's the weight to consider. I might just try the trick of leaving it in my Amazon basket and see if it eventually prompts a discount. I'd be a sucker for it then.
As with pretty much everyone on the planet I bought the old version and have no need for another 2 batteries. Bobovr have dropped the ball by not selling the cradle separately from the batteries.

It just arrived today and I'm happy with my purchase, the only bad thing about it is that you feel the weight of the battery behind once you put it on
I found if I changed the position of the strap so it sits slightly lower made alot of difference but I found I didn't notice it after a few minutes.

I read the cable wasn't quite long enough to allow you to lift the head strap. Did you notice that?
A full strap extension there is enough distance. It didn't seem like a problem.

Thanks for sharing. Order I must, no more pocket power bank 💪 yes I dance in vrchat over 4 hours. 😂

I'm looking into a video on the cables that charge your headset while playing
I DONT already have any bobo's and use an annoying battery in my pocket, so this is very appealing. I just wish the cable was grey
I get that. It's a hate or love thing I think

I really like your videos always great to watch and great information. Can I ask where you ordered that thing?

I thought I'll buy it for the video and might send it back. But i decided to keep it.

@@RileyELFuk i think its very expensive. im not sure how well it would fit i a case. that's a very good point
It's worth it trust me I have it and I love it.
Get a 20,000ah powerbank from Amazon for £17 instead. And put it your pocket. Spend the balance on stuff to play on the pico
That's what I do, but still waiting for a proper solution for some more FOV and comfort at the front of the headset.
@@richardnoall3758 AMVR face cushion works really well

Assuming you wear anything when in VR,😉
