The Pico 4 Can Do A Lot More! Here's How

- In today's video, I will show you how much the Pico 4 can do apart from just playing VR. I will show you how to expand your games and apps library by thousands of titles. This will be done by installing standard android 2D apps and games onto the Pico 4. The process itself is really easy and definitely much more straightforward than it is on the Quest 2 or Quest Pro. I will also show you a few of my favourite apps that I think you should be taking advantage of. These include apps for PS2 emulation in VR, and in general, retro emulation, Productivity for connecting to your PC and playing steam games on a massive screen using Steam Link! the only difference between the XR2 and the XR2+ is that on the latter the same components are placed slightly differently to allow for easier cooling, (the "50% speed boost" is assuming the exact same cooling configuration) but since the pico actually has a good cooling system built in it doesn't need that to still be faster than the quest pro in many applications/games
that explains why the pico is faster than the quest pro in ps2 emulation

You could use Immersed to have multiple virtual screens. It is really useful in Pico due to the increased resolution over Quest

you can nou install immersed which allows you to conncet to pc and have multiple monitors and passthrough
Absolutely love my Pico 4, it just does pretty much everything I want it to do and fixes almost all the things which used to drive me crazy about the Quest 2, but I can see how someone who mostly uses a headset for standalone (mine is mostly for PCVR and very light standalone) might be frustrated by the software choices.

Damn I didn't think I would like the Pico that much it's really cool to think of what you can do with it vs what you are allowed to with quest
i think we just need to wait for some updates because it still is very new. I currently have it and it gets tons of updates.

I tried to install 3D Mark Wildlife benchmark on it to compare the 3D performance cross platform but it ran awful, probably because I couldn't get it to run without the 3D environment running around the window.
I love your videos, so interesting and I love that youtubers like you put interest in the Pico 4 as it is my Daily Driver headset, and every time I want support for my headset All I just see is the freaking quest 2
You can resize it by using the second button on the controllers, the one you can press with your middle finger
External storage is huge as well. Can't do on Quest.
Can the pico 4 controllers be used to play games on steam instead of connecting a Bluetooth controller, I tried changing the setting in virtual desktop, but I couldn’t seem to figure it out.
I need something predictable for development. Anyone know if the Pico has been successfully used with XR Interaction Toolkit? How available are these? Important questions that leads me to go for Quest Pro. For development and resources available, the Quest just works. Not sure about other headsets within the same price range.

What was the Pico 'big announcement' that was supposed to happen this week? I don't think anyone mentioned what it was, so it must not have been as big as we were hoping. I was thinking they were going to start selling in the US.

They should integrate the meta quest store, if VR companys dont stop creating their own stores we'll be doomed, its gonna be the Windows phone shananagan all over again.
I disagree with the intergration of any meta related stuff. They should be moving everything to steam, make it to where literally EVERYONE has access.

Isn't the Pico4 a great device? I use it more and more. The Quest is now my number two device. I like the ease it is to put android apk's on the Pico, besides the bigger screen I get with my Pico4. Played a few flatscreen games on a huge screen within the Pico... super.

As long as your pc is capable and you have good wifi its fine. When using pcvr with the pico 4 your are only using the screen and controllers and not the pico cpu, thats the pcs job

You can "resize" The window. Use the grab button in the down arrow under the window, while holding the grab button use the stick to zoom.
I have the Godot game engine apk running in the pico so I could build vr games from the vr device. Super crazy, and not very comfortable 😂

You can resize by pointing to the menu and hold the side trigger then use the joystick to zoom in and out, I found out accidentally. 😂
It works on apk games too.
But can you resize them sideways and change their shape? That's what I can't figure out how to do :(
@@TheMysticle idk, I moved em left and right and then they would kinda curve as I moved em.
I had no idea that was a feature, I kept getting annoyed by pointing to them Lil arrows under the menus so I could move them eye level, but holding the side trigger and pointing to the bottom menu you can move both menus together, the top menu you can move left right, and zoom waaaay out! But it also worked on the 2d games I was playing.

With the v51 ptc the Quest Pro now has global PCVR Local Dimming using Link or Air Link (not yet with Virtual Desktop). Since the lower quality Pico 4 screens can’t do this it’s kind of a no brainer which is best. It will be interesting to see if the Q3 will be capable of LD or not. I believe you’ve speculated that it won’t.

Na, you still need to wear ur glasses. But it comes with a spacer that u can easily install. But it reduces ur fov because ur further away from the lenses, because of that I don't use it and its fine
