    I love my electrician but an Electrician X would be cool and I've said more than once in conversations on reddit that an Electrician X with a metal file would be my last Victorinox. The Farmer X is a great alternative for when I'm out in the yard, but in the shop or at work I'd take your exact knofe here. I would end up missing the can opener though and is why I went back to my Pioneer. I use the can opener and the little driver on the end too. That awl is my favorite one across every multitool I've ever tried too. I think a Plumber would be a fitting name for this model as well.

    Fit To Survive does some excellent custom knives and seems to be a wizard at it.

    This is a really nice custom SAK. I love the electrician blade, its so robust.
    Plumber is a bit blue collar for such a clean design. I'd call it the Engineer X.

    If I were the one naming it, I would call it the "Mechanic". Just seems like any knife that has a file plus an electrician's blade would be handy to have when doing any kind of mechanical or repair work. Awesome piece, buddy!

      The mechanic was an actual 91mm tool by victorinox, It was discontinued back in 2006..

    Great video, thanks.
    The knife could be called the Electrician Delux X

    Hey Mark 👊
    A great, practical custom 🧰 Alox, for sure 👌
    This reminds me of a cross between TX Tool Crib's, Victorinox - 'Special Mod' filmed approx. 2yrs ago, and his recently customised Victorinox Companion Alox 😉
    I'm working on customising an Alox myself, embedding the most useful, functional tools, for myself...
    A really cool video and thanks for sharing buddy,
    Atb Gus 👍

    Nice custom! I've always been a fan of the electricians blade and wish it was available on more models. I've modded a few SAKS myself and its great fun. I have a Pioneer X with added inline philips and magnifying glass from an Explorer, but put together with screws as opposed to rivets, which is nice to b able to make further mods to them down the line.

    This is the exact tool set that I have wanted for years. Victorinox could learn something from this kind of exercise.

    If victorinox doesn't wanna make that money off the custom stuff, this fella will. Very cool.

      That’s exactly my point. If Victorinox doesn’t wanna build stuff like this or at least great. Interesting designs in the models then I am sure this guy can do it himself.

    I love the Victorinox Ranger because of that file and it's 1 of the few knives with the chisel, but it's the only one that is barely pocket friendly. I still prefer to carry a Victorinox Super Tinker or the newer Companion and carrying a Leatherman Surge file and t shank saw that works in the parcel hook. I watched a video of a guy putting the tweezers in the slot as well and it's super solid. I love having a 4.5 inch t shank saw blade on me. I really want to try that electricians blade 1 day. I just picked up the clock opener tool knife and it's awesome for loosening molding or something fragile, before using a pry bar. I definitely think that would be amazing in a custom knife.

    I like it Mark, but I'd rather have screws than rivets, but I get where you're coming from.. If I were to go this route, i would have him fabricate a Craftsman Redoux since the Craftsman was the best all-around toolset victorinox ever released until they discontinued it in 2006. But if I had a second choice, Would go with a cybertool cyberlite hybrid, replacing the corkscrew with a second Phillips screwdriver and ditching the parcel hook. As for a name for your tool, how about the "Master Coffsman"..

    Would have just had him modify a Pioneer X instead

  • @RJsKnives
    @RJsKnives 10 месяцев назад +1

    How about Pioneer X Mark 1? I have always thought a SAK custom shop where you could set it up like you want would be a great addition to Victorinox. If a certain configuration became really popular it could be incorporated into the regular line. Good stuff Mark!

      I could definitely see this as an opportunity for Victorinox when it comes to their authorized dealers and an in-store experience. I think I would even hunt to find an in-store seller/location if they offered a custom knife service center there. You just pick up the tools you want make sure they line up properly and then they can have a technician put it together for you. Even if it cost $250 I’d still pay.

    Do these tools that are modified by someone open, lock and close with the same power as in the factory knife from victorinox? Great knife especially this electricans blade.

    Plumber is a bad name, they don't DIY jimmy rig like we do. I'd call it the 100mph or duct knife cause with it and the tape you can do just about anything

  • @MrPsiman
    @MrPsiman 9 месяцев назад

    I have never seen you review a Yeoman. Do you have one ? They are crazily over priced like the Alox Voyageur's are. Yeoman's are my favorite 3 layer 91mm SAK and it's basically a Compact with an extra layer for the inline phillips and a magnifying glass. Better than the Explorer because it's actually not to thick too carry. 3 layer is my limit on 91mm stuff

    • @markcoffman494
      @markcoffman494  9 месяцев назад

      I think you have pointed out the reason why I’ve never reviewed a Yeoman.. they are rare, and very expensive.
