“Mark thank you for fixing this watch. This watch really has no value to anyone else. I found this watch while cleaning up and sorting old items that I have. This watch reminds me that hard work is something that will make you successful and give you sense of being and pride. Sometimes we forget this over the years. I mowed yards and did odd jobs for people when I was 14 and through high school...

Essentially... Basically
Great review. Can’t wait for mine to arrive in the mail!
The parts came from china, they were still put together in the usa
Awesome review. thank you. Please send me any swiss knife you're not using. thank you
@@PinoyBackpackerTV if you pay for them sure
They are tough liner locks o should know
Good stuff, buddy! Cheers!
@@davidkurle5418 thank you!
This one goes with me whenever I wear swim trunks.
Russian, маленький совет из своего опыта в использовании такого мультитула , попробуй отрастить до определённого размера ноготь на большом и указательном пальце, так тебе будет намного легче извлекать инструменты
Nice video. I have the Cadet, Spartan and Tinker but my favorite two layer SAK, as indicated several times below, is the Compact. I replaced its red scales with white plus ones.
I had just recently inherited my Grandfather's old Gemini model he loved that Knife and now so will i.
Had a tiny mother of pearl handled knife as a kid in the 70s even smaller than that. Carried it a lot, lost it of course.
I have the wazoo cache belt, and these fit perfectly within. I use the one with the pen, and that has come in so handy.
The saw is actually really good for its size. I tested the T-shank jigsaw blade method, but the OG saw just cut better.
That "scraper" is a chisle. It does cut wood like one. Soft wood at least. I did a bit of a hatchet job sharoening mine, so now the face is visibly not flat. I should sort that...
You need to open the pliers extra-wide for the cutter. Also max diameter is 1.5mm.
That's a lot of layers! And I thought my Ranger was on the chonky side 😅
Some great knives from your father. Thanks for sharing these with us Mark! I hope you are well!
Man I missed the content. I appreciate the “normal” guy that likes knives. If you have time keep em comin 🤙
@@MrkwlCS Will do! Have a lot more coming out
Some guy wants to sell me one of these but I can't tell if it's a replica or not.
@@Biblicalgiants email me and I’ll review it
@@markcoffman494 Oh thank you so much. I may only have pics of the caseback but I'll definitely send it to you. Thanks
@@Biblicalgiants I’ve been a watchmaker for about 10 years, so I’ll know if it’s fake or not.
I have done the same but I got mine from a fishing tackle shop. Made to hold big fish so they will hold safely a sak. Cheap and easily available in different sizes and strengths. All the best.
Just force a patina on the logo or when it rusts just use some Evaporust on it when you clean it.
This knife is now discontinued
I'd have the throw the Compact in there.
I hesitated ordering one because there is very little content about this knife. But I ordered one in S35 and looking forward to it. It's unique which is what I tend to go for. Thanks for the video I think it's the only one with any detail on this thing.
@@lencycler1 would love to have an update on what you think of it when you get it.
Hey Mark - here is the update. I enjoy taking every knife I get apart to clean and re-lube and I immediately knew I was in for an adventure. After an hour I got the pivot screws off using the tool and a golf show spike wrench to hold the other side. The first scare was the pivot bearings coming apart and the tiny ball bearing going everywhere, I only lost one somehow. I didn't like the thick grease so I soaked them in paint thinner, cleaned them off, and replaced it with KPL Original, not knowing if that was even going to work. Long story short, I eventually got it back together using a bit of blue loctite on the lock bar to stop the rattle which seems to be working. I was amazed that the blade was centered and the action was smooth in all it it's clicky- ness. I scratched the hell out of it but man it looks cool and I'm glad took the plunge for a knife that is a bit different to me. Thanks again for your video and your reply.
@@lencycler1 glad you enjoyed it! I never really disassembled mine. Or at least I can’t remember if I did. What I did do is I put it in an ultrasonic cleaner with warm water and cleaned it out and then threw some mineral oil in it. I’m glad you enjoy yours.
unless there is a complete malfunction, this is the only knife I have that I will never take apart again for sure....cheers.
Just snagged the W93H for a baseball tournament I’m umpiring. Excited to see how it does on the field!
A Milwaukee fastback lives in my Jeep tool kit. Comes massively in handy sometimes when I need to bust out the road tools
The pivot screw is comically massive
Some should also strongly look at the Compact for walking around the city. Inexpensive, Plus Scales, one blade, scissors, pin, so thin and light. The Handyman would be so much handier with the addition of the magnifying lens and straight Phillips layer.
Added one to my bug out bag
I have a Para 3 in CruWear and it's my favorite folder, fits my hand like a glove. I have a PM2 "Crucarta" as well....nice knife, but prefer my Para 3.
Where did you get the light blue one? I love the color
@@HorsePlinkoNouvelle bought it used on eBay. They still make that model and can be found on Amazon
I recently had our stamping machine supervisor make some knife bails using.063 Hastelloy bar and a press brake. They came out really well and worked like I thought they would. It was a good way to produce a small lot with little expense. Just a thought… The Old Army Scout…
Good review!😊 If the Handyman had an in-line phillips, it would be perfect....
It's a good looking knife. There's one for sale $50 right now. I prefer VG-10 and S30V but i get it this came out when 440C was a mid grade steel.
I’ve got a mystery SAK, that I bought new many, many moons ago. I can’t find an exact match in features. But what you’ve helped me with, is an age bracket. It has an awl for dates between 1970 to 1980/83. Thank you.
@@dcvariousvids8082 you are so welcome!
Nice modification you must have done my knife also and you must have did the mods on all of these knives that are made in Switzerland when you lived there WELCOME TO AMERICA 😂
I'd say anything up to M6, those pliers will be fine tightening moderately.
So, don't put Abom torque on the screwdriver. Got it. 😉
Pin's good for SIM trays 😉
The Ranger has the saw blade *and* the metal file
I picked up a leatherman bond and it’s also very stiff opening/ closing the pliers
Just bought my first leatherman…the black rebar. Can you briefly explain how you cleaned it with the barkeepers friend?
Ouch! I picked one of these up in the early 2000's NIB for around $20 US. And yes be careful of the bail...
I picked one up out of curiosity as well at bass pro shop for 160.00. I’ve been very impressed with mine. Makes me wonder if the seller was trying to turn a quick profit on a bad knife. Especially for 115.00 bucks. That makes it seem like a sweet deal.
Jetsetter is an example
I'm stuck with compact climber and the sportsman. I'm planning to carry it with me to high school, shops etc.
I carry my Para 2 tip down for this reason. My endura is waved, however, and the way the handle is cut my hand falls into the grip with the furthest reach possible, almost choking back on the handle but my thumb falls right on the ramp perfectly
Bladeless victorinox will be a total gamechanger, and in a good way! If we need a blade, we can always carry an additional single blade that is easily left behind. I would definately also EDC larger tools. Atm i restrict to anything with less than 3 inch blade, living in the UK.
I have a Hiker in M05 camo scales damn that thing is beautiful....
