  • Jennette McCurdy opens up on 'Red Table Talk' about her 'iCarly' co-star, Miranda Cosgrove, helping her heal through trauma. On Wednesday's episode of the Facebook Watch series, the 30-year-old actress talks to Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith and Adrienne 'Gammy' Banfield-Norris about how Miranda helped her re-evaluate her issues with women amid a very complicated relationship with her late mother.

To those who say Jennette shouldn’t disrespect her mom like that:
She has EVERY right to hate her mom. A mom shouldn’t EVER do anything like that to their own CHILD.

Facts! Anybody who says that is not a true Nickelodeon fan nor a true Jennette McCurdy fan for that matter. A mother’s job is to support and be there for her children, regardless of what the child wants to do with his or her life. It’s ridiculous how Jennette’s mother couldn’t take “No” for an answer when Jennette made it abundantly clear that she did not want to become famous.

People need to realize you don’t need to love the people who put you on this planet. My mom has like a thousand illnesses due to stress and most of it was from unfair, how manipulative, and how cruel my grandmother was. She kicked my mom out while on Dialysis because she got called out for not going to the doctor after big signs of having COVID and already knew my mom’s immune system was incredibly weak. After 42 years, my grandmother is now considered dead to my mom and I’m so happy. She said no matter what happens to my grandmother, don’t involve her(my mom) in any way even if she’s on her death bed.
I’m glad Jennette is doing something like this-shedding light on her terrible childhood and being brutally honest about it. The people who say that she shouldn’t disrespect her mother are the people who would give in when a parent says “After all I’ve done for you…” when making a life decision their parents don’t like.

Miranda's crying, I'm crying, we're both crying, we can't stop crying. For me it's not that iCarly ending, it's not that today is our last day ever taping iCarly; that I'm fine wifh, definitely ready for. Even though I'm weary starting my spinoff, I'm glad to at least be saying goodbye to this project that makes me feel like I'm living everyday in a Groundhog Day movie doing the same thing over and over again. The reason I'm crying is that I don't know what will become of my friendship with Miranda: we've gotten so close, like sisters but without the passive aggression and weird tensions. I have my judgments around female friendships being catty and petty and backstabby but that couldn't be further from the truth with Miranda. With Miranda it's always been so easy, our friendship is pure. An AD hands and me and Miranda a tissue; we blow our noses hideously and get back on our marks to do one last take for the final scene we're shooting together. The sadness takes both of us over: we hold each other and cry.

We all have bad experiences that shape us that does not mean that our loved ones should absolve us of our responsibility to them without US doing the work. Her struggling with only trusting boys I can relate with. I’m a gender non conforming trans girl ( which I guess makes me a tomboy ) and I was mistreated pretty badly by some teachers throughout elementary and middle school and they were all women. The male teachers were all nice to me. There were exceptions mind you. But, most of my “ abusers “ were women teachers. As such, I have trouble trusting women and girls too. I have a much easier time trusting boys to the point that I can be naive about it at times. But I can’t stop. The only woman I can trust is my mother. I can’t even trust my own sister because of how many times she broke my trust in her. I just can’t trust girls ! They all turn on me sooner or later. There was one female teacher who even used to babysit me and my sister when daddy was busy. It turns out she was toxic too ! Even in high school I couldn’t fully trust the women ( teachers or students ). My point is that, I didn’t choose to be like this. I’m like this because I was abused by a woman too. Several of them. I can understand how painful it can be to be treated like that and how painful the repercussions can be as well…

I have to say to all fans, first it’s Will Smith VS Chris Rock slap at the Oscars, second Johnny Depp VS Amber Heard trial and lastly right now is Jennette McCurdy speaking about her dead abusive mother and how Nickelodeon treated her unfair, this is so unfortunate😔
