My mother told me 30 years ago, "When you get tired, you're do something about it. You aint't tired yet" This applies to everything in life. Thanks mom
Lol her business is out here, which is why she invited her. And I am so glad she invited her, because the “podcasters” think they ate. People can talk about any and everything, BUT can they show their work? Ya know? I love these moments for those of us.
The difference between HELPING & SUPPORTING is definitely something I needed to hear! I have a bad habit of HELPING people & then getting my feelings hurt when they don’t appreciate it. Whole time, they ain’t even ask for it! This episode was definitely one of my fav’s 👏🏽💕💕
Same! That totally jumped my mind into some moments where, I may have made peace with it all to get on, I had to accept that my un requested “help,” exchanges made with others -void of communication from both parts, often times was some toxic bull under the guise of my own delusional good intentions. Working on self acceptance, valuing myself, enforcing and defining boundaries while effectively communicating and understanding what folks are communicating and asking of me is where I believe I need to hone in on
I’m 65 yrs old, born 1958 at 16 yrs old I secretly went to see a psychiatrist on a weekly basis and hearing myself answer questions and crying my heart out for a year made me decide to live and not take my life. All I needed was an objective ear.
Facts, I feel their should be someone being developed to walk in her place u can train some one that will see and develop the instinct to go forward in her journey
OMG She has sooo much wisdom. My friends got upset with me when I said I wasn’t going to therapy with my ex husband. I refuse to go because I didn’t raise him. I told him he needs to go the therapy and bring his mom, grandma…,whoever raised YOU and taught you values.
The therapist usually work on that person first to get to the root of what caused the emotional problems and then slowly bring key people in to discuss the issues. If you were a key person then You were supposed to go to a session when the therapist deemed it. YOU are not perfect either because YOU are human.
@@CocoChanelle-1exactly! She sounds like the problem by stating that she’s not going to go and he should go get his mom and others. Hello 👋🏽, hello and you’re perfect?

The velocity in which I clicked on this interview was ridiculous. Lol! I am so happy you had THEE Mutha Iyanla VanZant on your show. You need to do like a two or three hour show for her because y'all simply scratched the surface! This was so good and I feel that I learned so much in a little bit of time. That "help" vs. "support" conversation was for me! Thank you and keep these fire interviews coming, KeKe!

WHEW. This is my whole story from being traumatized, padding, healing slowly, taking my power back and walking into my purpose to use my energy and voice to assist other’s in their healing.
My daughter notice the relationship with her dad was causing her stress, she decided at 16 she needed to see someone. I found a therapist for her within a week. It also help her determine what toxicity truly meant, she completely disconnect with him. I’m so proud of her.
I loved every second of this episode ♥️ When I read Iylana’s book “yesterday I cried” it… SHE changed my life! I had so many skeletons buried and so much hurt and pain bottled up, that I cried for 6 year old me and Rhonda, & then again for 22 year old me and Iyanla’s liberation. I began to have the hard conversations with myself about MYSELF and my very dysfunctional family. I will always be grateful to the Divine Creator and Establisher of ALL for enveloping her spirit and allowing her to come through those moments of discourse, so that her light could shine bright and her voice of truth could be introduced to the world so the universal healing could emerge!

So yea you have to absolutely be careful and if you don’t feel comfortable with the counselor that your with get rid of them immediately don’t keep going back trying to see if it will get better. PLEASE DONT DO THAT. You may have to go through a few of them before you can find the right one and that’s okay.
