In this guitar lesson you'll learn Minor Upper Chord Structures for jazz guitar. Knowing as many minor jazz guitar chords is essential for chord melody playing, but also to throw in some jazz guitar chord fills once in a while to spice up your rhythm comping.
As a matter of fact we need to know a chord on each scale tone of the dorian scale. In this Guitar Upper Chords Minor Tutorial, you'll learn how to harmonice the C dorain scale, in order to create a minor jazz guitar chords on each tone of the scale. We gonna be using the highest four strings exclusevly. These are called Upper structure voicings guitar.
We want to have a c minor jazz chords ready for any given situation.
I'll explain everything from theory to every single c minor jazz guitar chords note for note, slow and easy. I'll show you how to practices these new Minor jazz chords on guitar with several exercises.
Then I give you six Jazz Guitar chord fills in minor, big band style. This is good for rhythm comping with upper structure minor voicings, as well as chord solos or chord melody playing.
Seriously, one can't know enough minor jazz chords on guitar ;-)

Hi Sandra as always you are awesome. I am regular guitar player and can play few extended chords and bit of boss a nova too. I learned basic jazz standards fly me to moon, autumn leaves, girl from Ipanema, blue bossa.. but i struggle with application... like if I play amazing grace for example or how great thou art and if I want to play them as jazz solos...
Can you please please to a video where you take regular song and change it with extended chords and some substitution

Yes, just memorize one or two chords and move them up and down the fretboard. Try adding them to your jazz standards or whatever you play. Then the next one or two chords.

Sandra, your Cm7 inversion at 12:36...would that serve as a D#maj6 in a different context?
Eb6 is an inversion of Cm7 actually
