      ***** dubstep is highly toxic to humans with sensible musical tastes. YOU MONSTER.

      No clinical study has ever demonstrated that dubstep endangers human health at typical exposure levels. Lachlanlikesathing recommends responsible consumption of wubwub and synthetic wubwub derivatives. This comment was sponsored by Big Dubstep.

    Love the review, this is the kind of stuff I sub for. My friend got a pair of the T51i just last week and we thoroughly tested them out for a week before purchase. Pretty much agree on all the points you mentioned, and think its the best on-ear headphone available

    Thanks Lachlan. Bought these after your review. Compared them with the front runner which was the HD25 and these just sounded richer, felt more comfortable, and isolated better. Bass is a bit much for me, but I am adapting. Less of an issue outside. And the nice small size means I don't feel like an idiot wearing them on the street.

    Another great review Lachlan! Have been a fan of yours since the very beginning! Definitely have to agree with you on this, the T51p's were definitely one of the best portable on-ears I've owned. Aside from the impressive audio quality, I thought the noise isolation was honestly brilliant on these! Would love to hear your thoughts on the Bowers & Wilkins P7...

  • @onetwentyfour

    Do you EQ these? The comfort is great but I found it a little too warm. Opening the sound up a bit, they became the perfect on-ear for me. They respond to eq extremely well. I struggled to find a comfortable, portable, neutral, closed headphone and this headphone with EQ fit the bill.

    Hello Lachlan, very nice review. This headphone looks very appealing. Does it leak sound a lot when you go to higher volumes? I often use headphones in quieter places like the library and workplace. Also I don't like it when people can identify the music I am listening to.
    I hope that sound leakage would be something you can include in your future videos.
    Keep up the good work! :)

    Hi, very nice review and very professional!! I am considering a portable headphone. Hesitating between the beyerdynamic t51p et the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 on ear. What would you prefer, the 51s or Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 ohm for all types of music? thanks!

    • @duct.q.4402
      @duct.q.4402 8 лет назад

      +Peter Hyatt I never tried the T51p, however the DT 770 is not really good for all genres imho. The dt 770 has great subbass, much pronounced mid bass, the mids are very weak and recessed the highs sound fine to me, however some people claim that they sound siblant due to the famous beyer peak @ around 8-9khz (I think). The dt 770 250 ohm is a great headphone, but the weak mids and the emphasis on the bass make it not my first choice for a allround headphone. Than again I'm more of a neutral head, so I might think differently about this. If u are still on the market for headphones, I recommend visiting a local hifi store and listen to many different headphones until you find one you like.

    The T51p is a mighty interesting pair. I'm just very disappointed with Beyer's decision of the non-removable cable. The fact that the T51p had a number of previous incarnations (T50p/DT1350, etc.), it still boggles my mind why they haven't improved the cable. Same thing applies to the DT770/880/990, considering the Custom One Pro had removable cables.
    But enough rant. The T51p sounds like a bit of a departure from the DT1350. If you can still recall, is the T51p considerably warmer and more upper-bassier than the DT1350?

    • @lachlanlikesathing
      @lachlanlikesathing  9 лет назад

      Rohan Espada I suspect it is a fair bit thicker than the DT1350, but I'm only going from a vague memory...

    Hey Lachlan, i think you should really check out the Bowers and wilkins P5 S2! I never got to listen to the beyerdynamic t51 but many reviewers on headfi say that the p5s are a lot better. I got to test drive the p5s in an apple store and BOYY are they amazing! Built quality is incredible, they come with a 2 year warranty, they are super comfy, they isolate well and most of all they have this super fun, non-fatiguing sound that I love (I'm very sensitive to treble.) I bought them from amazon the second i got home! I would love if you checked em out. I really think you'd love them. Also, I was wondering how good the noise isolation on the t51 is.. is it as good as an iem like the shure se215? I could still return the p5s and that's why i was wondering

    Cool! I'm an IEM guy but getting into on ear portables recently. I have both HD25 and Amperior, I think they're evenly cool with a slight nod to the Amperior for overall SQ. I am thinking about DT1350 but not sure yet. Lachlan, have you ever heard the AIAIAI TMA-1?

    • @lachlanlikesathing

      @lachlanlikesathing  9 лет назад

      I haven't. I don't really like the idea of Grado's. Open portables make very little sense to me. I'm sure they sound nice enough though.

    • @NiohNiohYT
      @NiohNiohYT 9 лет назад

      Yeah similar story here but people seem to say quite a lot nice things about those so they caught my attention a bit, if you could get hands on some it would be nice to hear your opinion... Grado has quite a lot fans around and it would be nice to hear objective, real review from you!

    • @rohanes
      @rohanes 9 лет назад

      ***** I dunno, Grados aren't really touted as "portable" headphones. I've seen people do so (SR60/80s, not GS1000s), but they might be the ones with only one pair of headphones. Or it might be because low-end Grados are often compared to things like the PX100 or Koss PortaPro.

  • @ChiaDai
    @ChiaDai 9 лет назад

    You mentioned it's the most comfortable on ear. How do these compare against Bose sound true on ear you reviewed on your channel? Comfort and portability are really important, if not the most important, factors to me. Therefore, I'm also considering IEM vs On-ear if you have any recommendation in both areas.

    • @ChiaDai
      @ChiaDai 9 лет назад

      +Chia Dai I currently own momentum over-ear first gen and used to own hd598, ma900 (thx for the recommendation) and philips L1. Among all, I love the momentum signature the most but at the same time don't feel they're comfortable enough for longer listening session and portable enough. Primarily looking for a portable solution for school/office work that saves my bag space.
