@Abusive Wife ??????
It may not be as expansive as Dawnguard or Dragonborn, but I love the Hearthfire DLC. I just love designing a house and coming back to it from your adventures and filling it up with everything that you've collected from your journey.
Me too. Plus it made so many mods possible.
Eckhart of the Cygnus Knights it's a shame the houses were buggy as fuck
five dollars well spent
Lucas2394 in which way were the houses buggy? It's literally just a house... wtf?
So... a storage unit for your family and random junk? Sounds like a real marriage to me.
Once, a giant attacked my Lakeview Manor. No more chicken, no more bard singing, just an empty house with the greatest treasures one can see...
D D chickens are spies
Frisbee 'n' Cookies depends who wants to know?
Hearthfire was also $4 though. Dawnguard and Dragonborn were $20 each.
Wait I think that's actually a kind of fair price for this dlc
Another useful potion for making a lot of cash is : giant toe , wheat , glowing mushrom . Not only the power of the potion influence the prize but also how many effects it has , this potion have 4 so is one of the best for money making.
Its always nice to meet a fellow alchemist might I recommend you use Giants toe, wheat, and swamp fugal pod try it and tell me what you think. The effects itself aren't what matters now The profits on the other hand....are Life changing.
The girls aren't wrong for complaining about monsters in the swamp at Winstad Manor. Draugr wash up on the shore of the swamp, quite close to the house, on a regular basis. They were all fully and completely dead, but I can still see how they would be quite upsetting for a child.
I don't even own Skyrim anymore but I had thousands of hours in it, owning all DLC, and never knew about Salmon Roe. Well damn, guess I need to buy it again.... I don't think I've ever seen it on sale though.
This is actually very helpful thank you for taking the time to make this video even though I can hear the pain in your voice LOL I did not know I could Harvest bees if I chose a different place
Hearthfire is a perfectly valid school of DLC, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise
Loool, i played Skyrim on 3 platforms endless hours, but never used a fork as weapon 0.0
Magicstunts because usually you can't pick 'em up. There is only one pair of fork/knife that can be equipped in the game, in a very specific spot
Maria Teresa ahhh ok....thats plausible :D
I laughed at all your riches flying everywhere.
You can also use animal allegiance where the salmon are jump the salmon roe drops separately too thought this could be helpful for people wanting to collect salmon roe
There a random event with skeevers appearing in your basement. Most people know that, but did you know if one or both of your children have wooden swords as toys that you gave them, they will come down there with you and fight alongside you?
You know what makes the Hearthfire DLC special to me?
You can make a house while listening to the Red Dead House Building Theme.
11:27 you can change the fact that that Lakeview Manor is hostile by installing a mod called peaceful hearthfire ... There will still be one random encounter but after that it's fine.
Ah yes eating this single pie is technically poison.
Proceeds to eat 58 wheels of cheese.
Clear Sky also works with the salmon and has a MUCH shorter cooldown than Unrelenting Force
ok in skyrim i live in lakeview manor and almost every time i come home from a mission a giant is killing my cow,or a dragon is attacking my children.
I'm so glad you also misread the "NightGATE Inn" as Nightingale Inn
I feel bad for everyone who doesn't realize that Vampire Lord is objectively better than werewolf.
I actually didn't know that you can use ovens to cook. Wowies! I learned something new :D
Actually, Vilod was not the woman Lokir was sweet on. The girl in question goes unnamed, but if you turn on subtitles, you actually see that Vilod is the man that shouts "Justice!" After a lady shouts, "You Imperial bastards!"
You tried indeed dude. But the fishegg thing was a huge help
“Guys please go easy on me I really tried to find interesting things #1 salmon didn’t cost as much in the original game.” oh boy
I didn't know there was 2 other houses, I thought it was just the Lakeview manor
I have played this for 7 years and always find out new sh*t... I didn't even know there were three different hearthfire locations until today. I thought there was only the Lakeview Manor due to the fact that I never looked up a RUclips video on it until now. 😮🤦🏾♂️
You could cheat salmon roe into the game by using the elder scroll underwater and hitting a salmon with a sword
*the moment you have all 3*
*chuckles in khajiit*
This is my favorite DLC in the game
Waterbreathing will be quite useless as I never dive that long into the water. Lvl77 reached and find no reason for spending that much time under the water lol
His water graphics **faints**
>Says dawnguard isnt a real dlc
>ends up spending more time in lakeview manor than the entirety of dawnguard or sohlstein
I’m actually building my house while watching this
for 7 years i thought that falkreath was the only location you could get. god damn
“Hearthfire isn’t DLC.”
Oblivion added horse armor as a DLC, this is massive in comparison.
Why not the pen
It also had a dlc for like... 4 books.
Killo the horse armour DLC was one of the first dlc ever created, they were testing the waters

At least every person alive knows healing spells to burn while eating for safety! Makes you wonder what other "forbidden" (poisonous) foods you could enjoy the taste of and survive if you have a healing spell ready to see if it is safe or requires the spell to eat.
TAKE THAT LIBTARDS!
People that judge Hearthfire in comparison to the other DLC's are the type of people that judge books by how good they are as hats. Hearthfire was not supposed to add an exciting story line.
Sparkyjohan Exactly! I liked the DLC. It was unique without all the prolonged quests.
Just in the name "Hearthfire" should tell you what the DLC is about. Definition of hearth is "floor of a fireplace, area in front of a fireplace, and symbol of one's home". Adding the word fire basically says "a warm for in one's home"
The thing is that it shouldn't be a DLC, it should have been in the game from the start, or at least be a free DLC.
they could've thought about the concept for Hearthfire AFTER the game was made and released. Most DLC's are realeased after the game because they think of new things to add to the game and to give it to us. they release them as DLC. and if you don't know, DLC stands for "Downloadable Content". so anything you download to be used in a base game is in fact a DLC.
Also, both Dawngaurd and Dragonborn are priced at $20. Hearthfire is priced at $5. even though it's not free, the adjust the price for the amount of content it includes.
Exactly but it's worth buying
Windstad Manor: Fish Farming
Lakeview Manor: Beehives
Heljarchen Hall: fLoUr
I have Windstar Manor but bandits keep coming and killing my animals! And my children hate my house so which is the best house to live in with 2 children and a husband? 😂

lakeview manor: appeals to both children
@@sci_pain3409 You got that wrong, female children hate Winstad for the swamp because shit be lurking out there but is best for spouse, male children hate Heljarchen because it's cold.
Also I would recommend getting the mods to upgrade these homes, can't recall their names but they allow walls to be built, guards to hire, and a Khajit caravan merchant. Also get the Heljarchen farm or Winstad mine mods as well and boom real money makers.

To be fair it's kind of ridiculous for the dragon born to be the leader of every single guild, the savior of the world, a vampire lord, werewolf, and the killer of gods. So I think building houses was a reasonable DLC. And tbh it was my favorite dlc back on xbox 360 because I hated the vanilla homes and being able to make my own was great.
I thought every home that wasn't breezehome was great. I loved markarth and solitude and windhelm was pretty cool too
Yeah it was so cool to create your own house for the first time
@@topiheimola69 Not to mention each house can be constructed to be orient focused on the type of role playing you are doing based on each. Such as Lakeview Manor for active adventures because of the wide woodlands and greater enemies encounter, Winstead is excellent for a mage alchemist homes because of wide variety of ingredients available in the surrounding area along with the fish hatchery and optional greenhouse. The house plot in the pale could use for crafting as a mill's makes it more convenient for having a kitchen.
Every time I quick travel to Lakeview Manor, either a giant or a bandit chief are trying to kill my kids.
Or both at once. I had bandits coming in through the roof and couldn't leave because of a giant out front.
@@FluffieXStarshine omg xD that must've been a horrible thing to experience

I don't know what it is about building the houses but that's actually one of my favorite things to do in Skyrim. Gathering the resources and slowly building it up piece by piece was quite satisfying. If I could play with only 1 of the expansions, it would be hearthstone.
I know right! I love the process of gathering all the materials and watching my house grow. It also has a lot to offer like growing your own ingredients for potions a library because I like to read the books in Skyrim sometimes, smithing and armory equipment and everything. It's like a One-Stop shop if you ask me. I like being able to have a family and everything. It adds another dimension of Skyrim that makes it more immersive and more like I'm in the world that I love.
Not only that but finally you can have a house that has everything you need, quite literally everything. Don't even have to leave to smelt your ore into ingots.
I agree. This is my favorite dlc.
ironic because for me that *is* the only DLC I have :"D I can agree though that house building is surprisingly very entertaining
I love how we all play a 7 year old game
Morrowind is almost as old as me and I love that fucking game.
It's a good game. They built it to last a long time until the next one comes out.
and Skyrim VR is arguably the best VR game currently available...I play it with xbone controller instead of the annoying motion controllers (negates every flaw that comes with VR but keeps the benefit of actually being in the world) and it's the most fun I've ever had with the game. It makes you appreciate the world so much more since you can grasp the size and beauty of everything so much better. If you haven't tried it yet believe me this: you've never before realized how friggin huge these mountains are
it is still a great game though. I play it for... well just playing it normally, unlike most people who mod it until it crashes...
My favourite game is 18 years older than me.
my personal favorite part of the Hearthfire DLC?
If you get 2 girl children, you have a chance they will bring home foxes...as pets....
Dream Wolf they can also bring home a rabbit. Rare but Lucia did it to me once. The fox also has a name too if it dies
Oh really? That’s cute

One time they brought a Skeever into the house, and I was like 👏

Hearthfire is a DLC
Where as Dawnguard and Dragonborn are expansions
Jim Jam+ If you download and install it then it is DLC
Mystogan .Ravenheart yes but in most cases, big pieces of downloadables are considered expansions(ie dragonborn, dawnguard, shivering isles, etc.) Where as small add-ons like hearthfire add very little are considered dlc. All in all, all expansions are dlc, but not all dlc are expansions
XoX maybe read what I wrote in the replies, all expansions are dlc, but not all dlc are expansions
XoX so by your logic, the horse armor from oblivion that cost 8$ expands the game
XoX there's a difference between expanding and just adding things to something that already exists.
Step 1: Obtain a salmon row by any means necessary
Step 2: Buy the house with the fish hatchery
Step 3: Put salmon roe in hatchery
Step 4: Wait for the salmon to spawn
Step 5: Fus ro dah the salmon in the hatchery
Step 6: Make waterbreathing potions from the roe
Step 7: Repeat steps 4-6
Step 8: ???
Step 9: profit
Or hunt for fortify restoration ingredients, enchant a armor set with alchemy wear armor create 1 fortify restoration potion. I am, too. The content was good for roleplaying. That doesn't mean it was bad.
How is spending real money just to spend in game money good? In oblivion you buy the dlc and get the houses automatically for every character you ever make. They even have secret passages.
I love it. Saving up to buy a plot of land when your character is still poor, coming back to craft nails and buy lumber over time, collecting items and materials to build with, choosing furniture, etc. It's about slowly seeing the house grow along with your character.
vanyadolly you do realize it takes about an hour to get the money you need right?
Vilod makes the mead it's Vilod... Ralof says: ''Helgen, i used to be sweet on a girl from here. I wonder if Vilod is still making that mead with juniper berries mixed in.'' exact quote.
Funnier fact: The girl he had feelings for can be seen saying death to the stormcloaks in the intro
Hidden Desire how do you know its her?

He says her name in the intro. Vilod. That's the name of the woman who says, "Death to the Stormcloaks," right before he says, "As fearless in death as he was in life."

@@pazeldog5522 Actually my spouse 2/3 time was Lydia and she was my follower too. Children were raised by Steward, Bard and this guy driving wagon.
I wished the Hearthfire homes were all different. Like Lakeview Manor would be the island mansion from the early Thieves Guild quest, decorated in Falkreath colors, with add-ons of course. Windstad being based on Morthal with a dock path and made with stone to protect it from high tides, then Heljarchen Hall keeps the Whiterun look but has a walled property.
Heljarchen Hall is actually considered to be in the Pale territory. You have to purchase the deed from the Jarl of Dawnstar. It is very close to Whiterun territory, though, like right on the border between them.
Still waiting for some to develop a proper Kingmaker storyline. One where you have to/get to rebuild Helgan, establish it as the seat of power in your hold. Gather a garrison of forces. Marry Eliseth or Ulfric, overthrow either or both, or forge alliances with the Jarls to gain their support in the Moot and become high king via diplomatic conquest. In other words a well thought out set of quest lines that allow you to put yourself on the thrown either through diplomacy, treachery or force of arms.
That's some Mount & Blade shit right there 😂😂
if you play civil war whoever you sided with should offer you be high king like Ulfric if you went stormcloak like me (LONG LIVE ULFRIC AND THE STORMCLOAKS) Ulfric although he would have popular vote as the jarls would be in support of the stormcloaks he still says he will wait for the Meeting of Moot to make the decision ...it could make it so ulfric would be like "if you can rebuild Helgen and establish it as a proper hold in skyrim once again….I will relinquish my spot in the high king decision by Moot..... you helped me win the war and now I offer you some help...I honestly see you being a better high king then I would be as im not heavy in politics...if you do become high king I wish you hire me as your commander of your army..that I excel in" for elisif the option would only be granted if you marry her and win the war for the (damned) Imperials....as a stormcloak you would become king and end up making Helgen the High Kings hold so if you side with ulfric you rebuild Helgen and establish your own settlement hell should be able to rename it I would rename helgen the Dragon Palace ..cause dragonborn high king alduin first attacks at helgen makes sense right for elisif you end up living in solitude's blue palace which is sooo boring the perk of being high king is you no longer receive bounties unless you murder someone if you get caught killing to many people without some form of contract then you will be forced to drop status of high king to your spouse could make you rethink joining the dark brotherhood BUT if you have proper contracts "having your steward right a notice you can show city guards that the person you killed was killed under contract could have hell of an expansion with this
Write a fanfiction.

Redmon all are dlc, content that you can download.
I don't know why Hearthfire got so much hate. Yeah, it didn't have a story, but it was only five bucks and it let you build your own house that you could do a LOT of customization with. The best part of it was slowly getting the materials and money to build it yourself, watching that dumpy shack turn into the entry hall for a huge manor with all sorts of furniture and equipment in it.
Started out as 20$ though not 5
Not sure about pc but on console the dlc is a buggy piece of shit. I still love it but its the most aggravating part of the game
Legend has it that a modding adventurer of great renown once built his own home out of firewood and many elk pelts. Bethesda saw how great it was and thus Hearthfire was made.
You can still use it if you have Oldrim and a PC - www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/18480?tab=files
I'm not saying that that is why some hate Hearthfire. In fact it was probably more due to the pesky orphans that run screaming at you to adopt them every time you enter a city. The one in Windhelm never fails to corner me to buy her overpriced flowers.
Best 5$ I ever spent
Yet Hearthfire is legitimately my favorite DLC even in 2020...
Still going strong playing Skyrim in 2020.
It’s impossible to not randomly replay this game

I'm pretty sure I once married an Orc and he was perfectly happy with Lakeview Manor, especially because it "thoughens up" the children or something like that. He liked the fact that it was a bit more dangerous there.
Yeah that's why i marry Ghorbash whenever i play a female elf. xD
Lydia loves Lakeview manor too
I dont think I've ever heard Vilkas say anything about Lakeview...
wait r u gay caracter?!
Hermann Fegelein Nope some guys like to play as female characters for some reason 🤦🏿♂️
Hearthfire might not have added a lot of content, but it added *functional* content. For a mere 5,000 septims or thereabouts, you could get started on your very own house that does not require a loading zone and a bunch of walking. The fast-travel point drops you off right in front of your door. Can't get any more convenient than that! It does take a little money to fully upgrade the house, but you can do it bit-by-bit instead of having to fork over the whole lump sum at once, and your house can come with a Lot of perks, especially the Greenhouse. Lakeview in particular will spawn Lots of bees even inside of your greenhouse (not sure of this was intentional or not) and it is just excellent as you can have lots of alchemy ingredients. You also get all of the crafting machines standard, a ludicrous number of storage facilities, and even a mini-Temple in your basement to get any buff that you choose from either of the nine anytime you want. The spouse and children thing... meh. I never really paid much attention to it. I just love how functional the house is, it has literally every freaking thing I could possibly think of, and then some.
EDIT: Also the extra monster attacks at Lakeview is awesome too, because of the alchemy ingredients, furs, etc. It also helps that it's rather close to a couple towns that you can sell your loot too.
I thought it was a terrible DLC because you cannot remove features from your house. I put a bed in the main hall, because I needed somewhere to sleep, thinking I could remove it when I expand. NOPE. I literally abandoned the house because no matter how cool it looks, it has a *BED IN THE ENTRY HALL.*
@@maxwell_edison
I don't remember this happening to me, IIRC the only things that stay when you convert house to entryway is a chest and lighting.
@@maxwell_edison you remove the bed by converting the house into an entry. Ive never once had it stay there.
Wish it told me that. stupid design
@@maxwell_edison I started playing again after a year and forgot about it. Rememebered I could do it but couldn't remember how. It is not intuitive.
Hearthfire was the first dlc i bought when i got the game. It's great for immersion into the world, giving you your own space away from the hustle and bustle of the townhomes.
You could always make Faendal/Sven your steward and marry Camilla.
Oh gods Faendal would be the worst steward ever, he runs away from EVERY conflict he sees! I would adopt him instead and have some true warrior babysit him while I'm not home saving him from tiny spiders or a skeever -____-
when i first played the game i made Faendal my steward for lake view manor but sadly he fulfilled his dream of joining the Skyrim space program...
actually, i married Camilla in my 3rd play through of the game, return the claw and she is available
yep, and she has a unique quirk.... if you move to say, solitude (or anywhere outside of riverwood), she will have a visitor
you'll have to replay the game... or just look it up on youtube
"Nightingale Inn"
I make the same mistake at time so.. I forgive him.
Isn't it NightGate
GhosteBlack: That's the joke!
Lol I read nightingale too...
It's the Nightgate Inn not Nightingale
Fun fact, Lucien Lachance loves listening to the bard play, he stands completely fixated when he plays then claps afterwards 😋
Who?

7:40 I laughed my ass off. Vilod is an entirely different character from the girl he had a crush on, the only reason he got confused is because Ralof's sentences was worded in a weird way. Lol
yepp vilod’s a dude
Exactly what I was about to say.
This reminds me of my gem hoard. I collected every gem I could come across in game and dropped each one individually (thousands of them) in one of my basements. It was like a straight up ball pit in there fam lol
Ball pit of the bourgeois
ball pit of framerate drops
Same, we put all sorts of statues and skulls plus thousands of gems and gold
well thank you for that idea, I've just been stupidly putting them in a strong box
I threw everything I could find into the winking skeever just in front of the bar for a while. Not only did the frame rate drop I was told off for making a mess and crashed the game.
I found the bard stealing in my house and when I saw him he ran away and my follower attacked him and killed him, when I searched his body he had several objects that he had kept in my house !! did this happen to someone ??
"Nightingale Inn"
And you wonder why we criticize you for mispronunciation.
correction: YOUR wife hates lakeview manor. lydia, my wife, loves it. "the fresh air is great"
Yeah, well your wife is a man so...
@@fortheloveofking How is Lydia a man? Somebody whoosh me to understand this.
@@DevilDaRebel Lydia uses the male animations for everything, even dipping into the male animations from certain mods. She is properly tagged as female for armors and most mod animations, though.
Same! I'm married to Muiri and she loves the fresh air at Lakeview Manor.
Mjoll the Lioness likes it, too
damn man you were really pushing hard for that 10 minute mark when you went off with the juniper berry facts lmao.
pretty cool though.

What drugs are you on?
Getting a cow in either lakeview or heljarchen will atrackt giants. chickens atrackt wildlife, and not keeping valeuable loot in the safe will atract bandits.
Hearthfire is not a real DLC?
Let's see...
DLC means Downloadable Content.
Hearthfire has content, which is downloadable.
I think that counts as DLC.
Just as much as paid mods count as paid mods.

The mead with juniper berries was made by Vilod, not the girl Ralof was sweet on
CelticDragon0 Yep
Maybe Ralof was sweet on Vilod?
Hey it's 2018
One, Vilod is MALE, not a girl, and two, the year means nothing.
Wait thats what that meant! I was so confused! I didnt realise thats what ralof meant
I just recently got Lakeview Manor and I have to say the location and the actual house are probably my favorite in the game. However, I will say it turns into a death match arena pretty quick. Within 2 hours I’ve had bandits somehow get in my house, at least 2 packs of wolves attack, and a giant trying to kill my cow. Also had hired thugs show up but that’s most likely not due to the area but because I stole something. Anyways, it’s a great house and location but just be ready to be fighting 24/7
Don't talk bad about the hearthfire dlc! I somehow liked it the most on release because of the epic houses.
Ok today it's not that cool anymore with all these epic house mods...
iAppleKiller its shit and not a dlc
meme machine hahaha ok. It's cheaper than the rest and was a lot of fun. But say what you want
iAppleKiller a lollipop would be nice
still has charm, theres even mods for the houses, i like where they add several more rooms to the basement.
iAppleKiller dude it has no quests and adds a little food. Its not a dlc. It should have been part of the game to begin with. And no shit its cheaper. Because its bs compared to the other dlc. And even Bethesda knew it.
