Child’s Play is the movie that made me fall in love with Filmmaking. The film doesn’t get a lot of credit but the different techniques and elements they used to achieve the visual story amazes me.
😒these 2 are for real even childs play tv series already came out & Child's Play (2019), so unbelievable, or maybe fake trying to make this "first time watching video", or from another planet😒
@Prem Muthuraman 🤔 My cousin has never seen any of the childs play recently watched them with him the past Halloween some people just never get into horror in their youth dude calm down
Tom Holland (director) also did Psycho 2 and Fright Night. Both fantastic horror movies. Tom was a big fan of Hitchcock and knew how to build suspense.
@@preminsta8630 I didn’t watch any horror movies until well into my adulthood because I had an untreated anxiety condition until recently and was too afraid to. It’s definitely not impossible (for older media, especially) to fall through the cracks for some people.
The scene where the mother finds out the doll is real is a VERY well done scene. The tension building is crazy and then it's so convincing when he comes alive! =)
@@preminsta8630 I have seen this same comment several times in here. First some people never get into horror when they're younger. Second some people won't let their kids watch horror so they never get the chance till later in life. Plus neither look very old so this movie probably came out before they were born. Also I am a huge chucky fan and I won't even watch the 2019 remake.
The practical effects are so good. It really makes me appreciate shows like Mandalorian that still use puppet aliens. Child's play / "Of Chucky" all have the same continuity, it might be the most story consistent of all the horror movies from the 80s
Im Mexican American and I think a lot of us were shown Child’s Play films when we were kids and our parents would tell us “hey if u don’t behave, Chucky is gonna get u” and that traumatized us into behaving well🤣 or maybe im speaking for myself, well now im a huge horror fan
I'm so glad you both had so much fun with this! The entire franchise is one connected story, they never reboot it (the tv series continues from the 7th movie) but the 2019 remake is a bit similar to M3GAN. The Chucky doll in that movie is a high-tech doll & the voodoo element is completely removed. I can't wait to see what you make of the sequels, each one is unique 🙏
This movie scared me as a kid. Not because of Chucky or really any of the things he does. It’s I realized even if you’re telling the truth people might not believe you even your own mom. Very scary thought to have especially when it’s true 😓
A very fun and legendary fact: The actor a legendary actor who plays the cop who is mostly with Andy's mom the guy that shot Charles is none other than Chris Sarandon He played jack skellington in the nightmare before christmas The prince from the princess bride Dog day afternoon The handsome vampire in fright night etc
"For the 80s it's very creative"... they had to be more creative in the 80s.. cause they couldnt fall back on CGI... they had to make things work on set, or with optical FX or other tricks. But to this day, in the main Chucky series, its still an animatronic puppet.
Child’s play is one of the first horror movies as a kid that I watched. Made me fall in love with horror but also made me fear dolls. Now I want one so bad! You guys will LOVE Childs play 2! That’s the best one! Keep it up!
This is the movie that made me fall in love with horror. I was 10 and it's still my favorite franchise. In fact my house is full of chucky. Dolls, rug, pillows, posters even a candy dish. I absolutely love all things chucky.
I LOVED this movie and its sequel when I was a little kid. I was never scared of dolls, and actually I found them neat lol so that combined with my love of horror made Child's Play one of my favorite movies ever. I remember begging my mom to buy me one of the Tiffany dolls when they first came out, but she never did :(
This movie was made very well. Not just for the 80's but even now. After the third movie and bride of Chucky it starts to get really silly and Chucky starts to look ridiculous. The new effects start to hurt more than help. They should have just left it alone.
Like the Scream movies, the Chucky franchise (1-3, Bride, Seed, Curse, Cult, and the Chucky tv show) are all canon, and it is one linear timeline with no deviations barring the weird 2019 remake, which is it's own thing.
"Mommy, chucky's gone." "Andy, hurry up." "CHUCKY'S GONE GANI!" HAHAHAHAHH Denise' side comments always gets me I love watching your reactions guys been a fan for a month since your scream franchise reactions. i'm excited for y'all to see the rest up to the chucky tv show though!!!!! ❤❤
Just to give you guys some background of Chucky Franchise, to the best of my knowledge: Child's Play 1,2, & 3 are a trilogy which are based on Andy. Chucky needs Andy to transfer his soul back. The rest aren't about Andy, but are still connected somehow. Bride of Chucky takes a darker twist and turn to follow the ROB ZOMBIE vibe ( you will see) but is still good. IMO 1,2, and BOC are the best ones. The TV series mostly continues the story of Andy and Tiffany which you will meet in BOC, but will see new characters that show more of the roots of where Charles Lee Ray came from and why he became how CHUCKY is. As for the AI concept, that's what the 2019 remake is about. Chucky is there to be Andy's best friend and protect him but then eventually gets carried away (hence the horror part). The original creator and crew did not want to get involved in the reboot, so the new crew had to take a different turn and couldn't copy the same story as the original Child's Play story line due to copyrights etc. That's why it flopped. Again, worth watching. Fun Fact: The original story for Child's Play was supposed to be that Andy was doing all the killings but was blaming the doll, taking Charles Lee Ray's Persona. But they kept it as this version cause it made more sense and more scary.
Andy does come back in it in the last film and l think he was in a scene or cameo l think remember Andy trying to stop Chucky in the finale in the TV series
@@jamesmeechan6983 well I mean yeah he comes back and makes cameos that’s why I said that they are somewhat based on Andy but not as much as the Child’s Play trilogy. I couldn’t go into too much detail cause then it’ll become like a novel haha. But I haven’t seen anything beyond Season 1 of the tv series. Is it good? It started getting a little too cheesy in my opinion. 🤦🏽♂️

I watched next "Sanford and son" with grandpa then he went up to bed. I watched with some attention the next episode of "Sanford and son" then I was about to go to bed as it was 10 now but then I heard the opening music and I was drawn in having NO idea what I was in for. @Fan Pops Many reactors tend to be confused to why so many people would have such difficulty defending against a doll like Chucky but you can't forget he usually has the element of surprise on his side, since no adult in his/her right mind is going to expect a doll to become animated let alone attack them; also considering Chucky was infamously known as "The Lakeshore Strangler" he certainly must possess a significant amount of physical strength to strangle his victims, and even though he's occupying a doll he becomes more human over time granting it the strength a full grown man. Seeing as you two enjoyed this film, you should really give the sequel a look as well.
