We had one when I was younger in our attic. Got it from our aunt and my brothers would always put it in my room and I would wake up to it right by me or it would be in my chair or at the end of my bed

What I heard was that the child actor was so nervous that he couldn't cry on queue for the scene that he actually started to cry.

@@Rash23215being a good actor takes time and he is a child, you either have it or you don't and by the time you're old enough to make your own decisions, you do feel pressured to rejoin because you are that character, no one else is
Andy’s life story is so messed up and heartbreaking. This poor little boy only wanted a toy and instead ended up getting a serial killer hell bent on making his life as miserable as possible by killing everyone he cares about or turning them against him. He was then taken from his mom and put into foster homes, rolled into military school, and could never live a normal adult life. The amount of trauma this kid has endured is insane. Chucky literally ruined his whole life.

When I finally decided to watch them all , after being deathly terrified of chucky , I realized just how sad Andy's life was! The one thing he wanted so bad for his birthday would end up being his worst nightmare. I had only seen 1 & 2 a couple of times as a kid.....on SPANISH TV. So alot of good stuff was cut out! Middle fingers and no swearing in spanish.
Never saw 3, nor bride of chucky (thinking that with a second doll, it would be twice as scary! Lol) Remember going to blockbuster when BRIDE had just come out, seeing the back of the cover and seeing the picture of Chucky and tiffany holding guns...."HELL NO, I DONT WANT TO SEE THIS!!") 😂😂 When SEED OF CHUCKY was the latest film.
When I got to the end of
Child's Play 3 , it made feel so bad for Andy wondering what would happen to him. The sad piano music as he's being driven away and the carnival rides going off. Man! Would he finally be able to live a normal life? Would he get over his childhood trauma or would Chucky continue to haunt him? It was left unanswered for a while. Still haven't seen CURSE, CULT , the remake, or the TV series. So I'm still wondering how Andy is doing now. 😥😥😥

Chucky has the strength and speed of a grown man so that's why he's so fast and strong. As for why he's killing people, the man was a serial killer which is why he was being chased at the beginning.
the way you noticed the doll changes every scene 😭 it changes every scene because the longer he spends inside the doll the more human himself and the doll becomes, so at the start he was doll-like and towards the end he’s got more defined features like a human ! also i can’t wait to see you watch child’s play 2, it’s the best in the series!

Brad Dourif, who voices Chucky, is the heart and soul of these movies. Maniacal, abusive, and more than a little bit bastardly, we all love that little murderous doll.
2 and 3 don't rank as high for me, but the series really pick back up with Bride and Seed.

Just to let you know why Chucky is as strong as a grown man it’s because the voodoo spell he performed which transferred him into the doll let him keep his strength that a grown man has as well as being able to run as fast as grown man despite having short limbs.

I love the original child’s play. It’s the best of the franchise in my opinion. It was very well written. I love the mother and son relationship with Andy and his mother, I like the suspense building up to chucky’s reveal, and I love how we got to see the background of Chucky knowing voodoo. The horror and comedy balance in the movie was just perfect.

A lot of people say that little Alex Vincent was actually scared of Chucky, and that his crying wasn't acting, but really he was never scared. He always knew that it was never real and he was just a good kid actor.
Final boys/male slasher protagonists are few and far between, but amongst them Andy is definitely one of the best.

Believe it or not, Andy ditching school and riding the L train in Chicago and nobody batting an eye was not out of the norm during the 80’s and part of the 90’s. Baby’s Day Out, Candyman and Child’s Play all took place in Chicago. I really like your reactions, funny and genuine 😅

This movie is a classic. A favorite from my childhood. Man, this movie has some great lines. Especially the scene when the mom realizes that Chucky was indeed alive. Chucky laugh as well is one of my favorites. But anyway I hope you have a wonderful day. Stay safe, take care and stay amazing Jay.

Actually there is a correlation between Chucky and Candyman! Both take place in Chicago. When I was a kid and realized they took place where I lived it made me SO much more scared of them lol. Cant wait to see you on the crazy ride that is the Chucky franchise

I have a Chucky doll my mom got me for my birthday! My mom went to Spencers to get it, at first they didn't want to get it down thinking she wasn't going to buy it. My mom went "I'm actually going to buy it, my daughter is a sick freak and she wants it" 😅

There's actually a 1975 tv movie called Trilogy of Terror with three horror tales all starring Karen Black where the final story involves an African doll that comes to life and terrorizes a woman in an apartment. It was quite memorable and remained in a lot of kids' minds who saw it as it was very scary. It probably influenced Child's Play.

There actually was a toy in the late 80's that was about a 6-8 year old's height, was able to turn her head, talk, recognize your voice, and blink that went by the name of Jill lol! She used several AA and D batteries just to get her movements to function xD

The reason Chucky looked more Real at the End, the black guy who introduced him to voodoo explained he said “The more time you spend in that body the more human you become” so you can see his eyes changed, his hairline recede, his teeth were rotten and his human strength increased. The first Child’s Play is the best one , he never looked more real through the Franchise.

Chucky gave me NIGHTMARES when I was a kid. I had an American Girl doll and I remember locking it in my closet after I discovered what Chucky was. I watched it for the first time last year and I actually enjoyed it a lot but I still don't f with dolls
Chucky is so strong because when he went Into the doll he kept his strength like if he was a grown man so he was that tiny doll with grown man speed and strength. Also You have to watch the other movies along with the new tv show that has a season 3 coming out soon. 😂❤
The Vudu guy told Chucky that the longer he stays in the body the more he becomes human so yeah as the movie progresses he slowly becomes more and more human like. In later films they kind of dropped the humanoid features detail but he still gets more and more anatomically correct

I know you primarily react to movies but if possible Please PLEASE include the Chucky series if you watch most of the Chucky franchise!! It deserves so much more love, and it’s such a good show!!! There are two seasons and I might think you’d find it as an enjoyable watch!
People always say how they would iust kick or throw chucky somewhere. But they tend to forget or not know(since maybe they never saw this movie)..hes turning human inside that doll. Thats why his face gets more creepy by the end of the movie. Hes a serial killer so he's not stupid. And he knows people wouldn't believe someone about a doll coming to life.
Why is Chucky so strong? He's possessed by a human soul, one very psychotic soul. He may be a doll, but he still possesses the strength of a human male.

Chucky is not really a doll, he's a human in a doll. imagine the strength of a 150 to 200 pound man in a doll the longer he stays the more he becomes human.
Chucky is a man that put his soul into the doll. After the 2nd movie they really don’t focus on him becoming more human or needing somome to know his secret to steal a soul
This is my favorite franchise. They even have a tv show now that picks up after the 7th movie, and the third season airs this fall Oct 4.
You should watch Dolly Dearest, it actually came out before Chucky and it's s Female Doll.

to answer your question it was in fact not quite fully an animatronic. the doll has the innards of one but it was mostly puppet. the dolls movements, facial expressions and stunts were preformed by multiple techs controlling each part remotely. this was very impressive and intense for the time because of how much time and money it took
The Good Guy dolls were so cute what u talkin? The contrast between cute and being scary as hell was perfect

It's not necessarily that Chucky is a big doll, Andy is only 6(Alex Vincent was actually 7). Alex Vincent is actually a small(in size) actor, he's currently my age 42 or 43 and he is about 5'1", 5'2" or 5'3".
