I bought a GR Sport after selling my V6 Diesel Ranger with 56000ks on it.
Why first rear differential whine replaced under warranty 31500ks came back again at 54000ks.
Main screen complete shut down twice when in the outback vehicle had to be towed both time.
Transmission over heating 4 times when towing 1800ks on outback roads.
The V6 is a typical ford nightmare under bonnet engineering with poor airflow.
My last hilux which I sold to buy the Ranger 521000ks and was still going strong.
The last of series isn't the negative portrayed by short term tests its been time tested and problems sorted.
I went away from Toyota after owning 4 of them.
    That will never happen again!!!

I don't understand why they made this the way they did. At the time they released it, the 4Runner was still using the 1GR, so they had the option of bringing back the supercharged combo from the (real) TRD. They spaced out the lower control arms to get the width when there are off-the-shelf, proven, engineered long travel kits that would give the same track increase. Same with the rear, there are proven, engineered coil conversions they could have used or copied. The suspension tune makes no sense and the wheel/ tyre combo looks ridiculous. Tacoma's are rolling off the line with 33's on their offroad models, but for some reason they won't go above 30's in the Hilux, on wheels that would fit under the smaller flares of the Rogue.
It's like every part of this car was done by different departments with different goals. When they could have made a legitimate rival to the Raptor.
I'd happily take one if it was given to me, but I wouldn't be spending my own hard-earned on it.

    How can this tow 3.5 T !!
As per figures in the video
    GCM of 5,850 T
    Less -
    Kerb weight of 2,270 T
    Towing - 3.5 T
    Balance is ONLY 80 kg.
    Does kerb weight of
2,270 kg factor in weight of the tow bar ???
Tow Ball down weight is say 350 kg
    This MUST be added to
    Kerb Weight
    Vehicle weight is then
    2,620 kg
Add 3.5 T of tow weight,
    And GCM is 6,120 kg
    This is OVER it’s quoted
    GCM of 5,850 T
In theory, if u tow 3.1 T & factor in 310 kg of
    Tow Ball Down Weight,
    U r left with 170 kg
    Less weight of tow bar,
    Approx 40 kg ?
    Less an 80 kg Driver
    Leaves u with only
    50 kg !!
Less a Full Tank of fuel
    🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @Drivecomau
      @Drivecomau  Год назад

Towbar is standard fit, so it would be included in the weight. Towball mass gets included in GCM and ATM, but moves across to the vehicle's GVM when loaded up. It's super complicated, and a big reason why drive around overloaded. And Regardless of all that, it's still an underwhelming tow vehicle because of the limitations.
