"one of the best" You mean out of the 9? Wow, ONE of the best of the nine, so it's at least like the THIRD best. Out of nine. Christ, people don't even know what they're saying. MPAI
When I first saw this movie, it broke after the first Sentinel fight and they had to start it from the beginning, and I heard people behind me go “great, now we get to see Iceman die again”… and they were really relieved and surprised when he came back a scene later
I have only watched the theatrical version once and when i realized there is a Rogue Cut i bought it and havent gone back to the original since. Its such a better movie than the theatrical and makes more sense
It really doesn't. I have seen both and own both, but there is nothing that "makes more sense" or really makes it a much different or much better movie. Its not all that different
The biggest highlight for this movie was finally seeing the Sentinels in action. I friggin loved the Sentinels as a kid, along with Master Mold and Nimrod.
Yeah, seeing big robuts was so much better than the Quicksilver scene. You called it. We'd never before seen any big robuts on the silver screen before, but we'd seen literally hundreds and hundreds of accurately depicted speedster scenes in dozens of different franchises. I feel bad for Tony for having to deal with his commenters. Just a little bit.
Back to the Future actually makes tons more sense in terms of alternate timeline versions of characters. Twin Pines Marty goes back from 1955 to Lone Pine 1985 just in time to see Lone Pine Marty go back to 1955. That LP Marty will go on his own adventure, with his lived experiences informing his decisions, to create another timeline separate from the others we have seen, and he'll also come back to a new timeline we'll never see. TP Marty is a timeline refugee to the LP timeline, with parents whom he's never actually met, who play tennis together and raised their children so differently from his own timeline that his sister went from an awkward introvert to a basic fat thot and his brother went from an McJobber to an office yuppie. We know this is how it all works based on Doc Brown's description of the Biff Tannen timeline in part two, with the chalkboard for easy visual reference. I could talk all day about BttF.
The Name Nimrod, goes back to the bible, he was a king who was a great hunter. He also caused the great babel, where everyone started speaking different languages. What a Nimrod, am I right?
Oh I'm so excited for this! What up, Frank! Nice to be seeing you again. And I enjoyed the 3rd X-Men commentary with Monica. I'm a little hesitant on new members and like seeing familiar faces like Kieran and Johanna but seeing these two for this movie then the Famous Tony from The Dark Knight clearly knows what he's doing!
I always saw TRASKs casting w/ Dinklage as an example of transposing. DINKLAGEs character was ridiculed and had a hard time growing up because he was perceived as being “different” so when he came into power in a sense he transposed that alienation and persecution he felt as a child onto mutants. So that he himself TRASK can finally feel inclusion and embracement but coupled with a release for his frustrations and metaphysical pain. It was an interesting casting choice causing personal extrapolation for the audience.
Yeah but Charles isn't paralyzed by a spinal injury in that continuity I was about to jump on here and call Tony misinformed as well but he back it up with the how does a spine injury heal with the serum line? So it's okay I guess
My favorite X-Men movie but it could have been even more epic if it found some way to include Master Mold and the scene from the 90s cartoon where he was trying to escape and couldn't because he was still plugged in.
We are most likely never getting a better X-Men movie than DoFP (either cut, but Rogue is the better). Just enjoy it, because it's all downhill from there. At least Logan was pretty okay, tho.
Not as dumb as giant ass adamantium knives in your hand that are longer than your forearm and are said to be able to cut through anything. Atleast the bone claws were short enough and not something that could cut through any material known to man.
I said this was the Last Good X-MEN Film from 20TH CENTURY FOX but I also forgot about LOGAN which is a Freakin' Amazing Film but it's technically a Solo-Film as opposed to an X-MEN Ensemble Film
Watch the days of future past arc in the animated series, a good midway between the comics and movie (i never read the comics but thats what it seems to be)
Correction: JFK was not actually a mutant. After his Ich bin ein Berliner speech, the US government believed he was a mutant because he could speak fluent German. It was a simple misunderstanding! Even Magneto (an actual German) was under the impression JFK's bilingual abilities were his own mutant power.
I love Days Of Future Past, but it really makes no sense. You guys talked about them recasting Bolivar Trask, but nobody mentioned the massive plothole of Trask getting assassinated in the past. How did he get assassinated in the past if we see him in The Last Stand, which takes place over 30 years later? Fox really got the laziest writers for the franchise. Every single movie is full of inconsistencies, plotholes and retcons of stuff from the previous movies.

The one thing I didn't like about that Dungeons and Dragons movie with Chris Pine is that every little person was just and normal sized actor shrunken down with CGI. I'd love some little people actors in a DnD film.

Watched this and Captain America: Winter Soldier as a double feature at a local drive-in theatre. Extremely late and fun night.
The Best X MEN Movie Ever Made!

The Rogue cut was better and why did they not show that one in theaters.
Quicksilver fun fact. His power is always active. He has to slow himself down on purpose. He probably found a Forge-equivalent to overclock his music
The Name Nimrod, goes back to the bible, he was a king who was a great hunter. He also caused the great babel, where everyone started speaking different languages. What a Nimrod, am I right?
