  • The Summerhouse is now finished! So here's how we added the roof, felted it, made a cladded door and fitted it along with windows and trim. I also talk about costs if you made it yourself or paid someone to do it and install it.

    Very nice shed! Watching you put down that bitumen adhesive brought back the memories of a job when caulking was all I was supposed to do. I ended up buying an electric cordless caulk gun at the end of the day. Great purchase. Thanks for sharing your work here.

    Great looking shed. To help with your fear of ladders/heights I would get the ladder turned the right way up and also turn it round ( 8:31 ) and then when you stand on the rungs they will be in the correct orientation and will feel much better under foot. A Ladder Matrix is a great bit of kit, not cheap but worth it.

    • @TheCarpentersDaughterUK
      @TheCarpentersDaughterUK  3 года назад

      Thank you! A decent ladder type of thing is exactly what I'd feel better with!

    • @C4sp3r123
      @C4sp3r123 3 года назад

      @@TheCarpentersDaughterUK I got one a while back as I got fed up having someone foot my ladder but look down and see them standing on the floor and resting their foot on the ladder! Or have wandered off "just" to fetch something! At least the Ladder Matrix doesn't get distracted by their phone hahaha!
      A ladder limb is a much cheaper item for use with a ladder but they are excellent, so good I bought a second. I combine them with a climbers carbiner and then a builders rubber bucket etc. You then have somewhere to keep your tools etc when working up the ladder and avoids the need to go up and down the ladder as much which is good.
      I think they were first shown on Dragons Den and failed to get funding but they really are one of those, how did I use to manage without them tools but with your (wooden?) ladder it wouldn't be possible to use one as you need the hollow rungs to insert it in.
      Then finally, a ladder standoff are excellent and give a much more secure point of contact, get one with a V in it though rather than the straight ones, there is no cost difference but the V is great for use on the corner of a building or when you can't avoid having to straddle a down pipe or cable etc.

    Nice job well done . Always cheaper to build your own.
    That price you state in your video is double that now because price of materials have gone through the roof. Il be doing one my self soon and I was looking for design inspirations and come across your channel . Nice layout I think I will be doing something similar to yours . Great job you should be proud of yourself 💪

    Little tip when trimming around windows and doors on a shed. Mitres will always open up with the changing weather, so better to cut everything square, with the side pieces cut to the height of the aperture and simply shoot the top piece straight over the top of them.
