    I'm about to commence a build in a field and I'd like the walls and roof clad in black corrugated metal sheets. I don't have any height restrictions so I would like a warm roof construction (18mm osb, vcl, 100mm PIR, 11mm osb). I'm wondering what I attach my metal sheets to. Do I need to batten on top of the 11mm osb? Do the batten fixings need to reach a joist? If so they will have to be 200mm screws!! I think that's what's causing me to question this plan. If so should I counter-batten as well for more ventilation? Metal sheets get cold so I guess they will have condensation underneath? I don't really want the rubber roof look but if I have to I will. Thanks in anticipation of a reply 😎

    These videos are top notch and full of useful info for anyone else doing a build. I'm interested though as to why you don't do a Birdsmouth cut on the roof beams to help them sit flat on the wall plates. Is the angle of the roof shallow enough that it's not required?

    Calm down, take your time 😊. Speed don’t make no difference. Your squad get confused when your asking stuff to quick. Jen clear the base, yeah I’m just doing this first!!! Give them time not going 100 mile an hour. Makes for a better video. Time is money but speed not always the best. 👍

What would your base details at floor level if I was building off a concrete slab as opposed to on ground anchors and where would you place the insulation. You maybe already have a you tube on file fella. Also who do you buy your rubberroid roofing off bud.

    • @thegardenroomguru
      @thegardenroomguru  2 года назад

      ive a video where we used the customers pad as he guaranteed the depth at 10". but still needed to keep under 2.5, the room was bigger too so we used a combination of rods and sitting directly on his base, with a DPM under the timber of course. as long as you building is bigger than your pad there is no risk of water going under the treated timber base

  • @MrFlyingguy
    @MrFlyingguy 2 года назад

    i note the way you sail the osb past the meeting points on both horizontal and verticals to reduce the number of joins and avoid entertaining the use of unsightly capping sections later on.... going to steal that idea with thanks and respect.

    • @thegardenroomguru
