We're getting old...
Limp Bizkit was the biggest band in the world in the late-90’s/very early-2000’s, which lead to them being friends with these Rap legends, etc. They were MTV darlings back then (when MTV still showed music videos), which made them absolutely massive. They’re still around, and putting out some good music, but not nearly at the heights of fame, success, and popularity they were at when this song/video was released (1999).
I don't think many people want to realise just how influential Fred Durst was in the 2000s. He's an absolute legend
Jonathan Davis of Korn is who discovered Limp Bizkit and got them signed.

Not quite! It was fieldy, the bassist of korn, who came across durst when he was a tattoo artist way back! They got talking, durst told him he was in a local band, fieldy requested a tape, then the rest was history as they say....
Another bit of trivia, or urban myth, was that when Nookie was released, the record label behind Limp Bizkit sent money to individual music stations to increase general airplay and exposure for the band! It worked, as they were the biggest band around for 3 - 4 years ahead!
Limp Bizkit also brought Staind to the forefront

Wrong. They were the first of 3 bands on the Saturday night main stage. They started, then Rage Against the Machine, and Metallica closed. There was a lot of damage done during their lineup, and Break Stuff was the score for destruction. But the festival continued.

The most interesting & remarkable aspect of the video is obviously the cameos & the fact that almost 25 years after this was released in ‘99 the cameos are still perfectly relevant & it’s just absolutely amazing

The music industry was so connected back in those days. There was no internet in that era, so if they were on TV, they had those connections. Eminem also had Marilyn Manson in his “The Way I Am” video

when i was 6, i was exposed to nu-mutal. Then my taste went to punk, screamo, metalcore, death metal, black metal to more extreme stuffs. BUT NU METAL/RAP METAL WILL ALWAYS BE IN ME. People told me nu-metal sucks, but come on THEYRE A BIG SCENE THEY ONCE RULED THE TV AND RADIO. All the bands are lit. I am glad you guys like it. I listen to music and i dont care about the politics.

As a kid at Woodstock 99 in Rome NY we all went wild when this song was playing, actually their entire set at the East staged f’n rocked! Worth checking out, even diddy was on the side of the stage as was Kid Rock and they stared in amazement at how they had 1/2 a mil kids go crazy.
The best part of the reaction is to Polly Shore 😂 the man dancing with the sign 🪧 he’s a hilarious actor.

I grew up with limp, korn and linkin park and even though i felt at some point that i had out grown them... I always give them credit as a GATE way band to METAL/rock, these guys brought in a huge slew of new fans to the entire genre rock/metal

They have deep ties to hip hop, including doing a fantastic song with Method Man from Wu Tang. Their DJ was the DJ for the hip hop group House of Pain, who had a hit with "Jump Around". Eminem and them used to be tight, but had a falling out, and Em dissed them multiple times.
