    add section doesn't show for me on the left hand menu. I have a fairly old site and would like to utilize it.

    Can you turn the section option off. I don't want it or need it. It's so aggravating.

      I looked everywhere trying to find an option to turn it off. Apparently you can't. We have to live with these things they force on you.

    Why don't I have the sections icon on my website editor?

      How long have you had the website ? It may be that you have the old editor. Go to 9:10 in above video and see explanation.

    The addition of section has made me really hate Wix. Before it was fine but now they have appeared in my website editor where I don't want them making a simple edit a nightmare.

      Wordpress has an option. You can use the new version OR continue with the old one. You'd think Wix would give you that choice rather than make a whole mess of things.

  • @PMaillet

    I went into one of my pages that I update every day and it was a total mess. Most of the content was missing. It took me hours upon hours to redo the whole page. I was not happy. I don't understand the advantage of sections. All I saw you do in this tutorial I can do with strips and boxes, including anchors, etc. Wordpress gives you the option of using their new editor or continuing with the "classic" editor. I wish Wix would do the same. I did not have the time to waste hours on this this morning and I almost gave it up thinking I just may as well go to another platform.

    I don't like the Sections...they're so confusing for me. Wix has integrated Sections into my site and I want to delete them and use what I know - Strips. When I try to delete the Sections it clears all my designs...ahhh! Can you please help? Thanks

      Me too. They just spring it on you. I'm seriously considering leaving Wix. I just put too much work into it to have them make a mess of things (as they did to one of my pages this morning.) We should have the option. They force it on you. I'm not happy with Wix.

    This is a great update! You are on top of all the changes, and I love it! And I love that this may open the option to seamlessly move to Editor X.

    so the usable space of the site is between those dotted lines and the areas to the left and right outside the dotted lines are waste space. all your site features still have to be between the dotted lines. correct or not? and wix is not still not responsive? Would like to see a tutorial on how to redesign a current site to fit the new format.

    The transition that I did not ask for has left me completely flummoxed and doing damage to my site because I cannot make changes that were once extraordinarily intuitive. I will literally have to rebuild my site. So. Angry. With Wix.

      So am I. I was shocked when I went onto one of my pages and it was all messed up. I had a deadline and instead it took the whole morning to fix the page that I update daily. Was NOT happy!

    Why did they change things? Can I go back to the old version? Wix was great because it was so easy- now I am spending too much time editing basic things. I guess that is technology for you! :)

    These are awesome news! Unfortunately, I just finished to create my own website. I think, I have to do it again, in the new editor. I doubt, they will fix the problem so soon ...

    Wix did a nice job of sectioning my existing content. Not necessarily exactly how you'd like content split, but pretty close. Easy to rename the sections and move existing content from one section to another or to a new section.

  • @MichaelRungPhotography

    Are sections fully responsive on their own, or do you still need to rely on adding strips within them to ensure responsive design?

    • @wixfix
      @wixfix  2 года назад +1

      Sections do have their own grid lines, so you do not NEED strips. Strips are now just for design and for adding columns.

    i am assigned as the new wix editor in an australian phd dr. kelly allen's website an suddenly after noticing the facts i searched as wix last section and landed up here , as always very much informative video. have a question that is what about page background now with these new system ? as u know there was much creativity possibilities with the previous system using page background and strips over it. i guess now it won't be possible anymore? as i cant see any way to delete the last section and make it completely scratch to find the page background. another query is , is there any way to get back to the previous editor for a website which got this update? will be waiting for you reply here. 🤓

      For sections, the best way to give your page a background image is to give each section the same image, then set the background scroll effect to reveal. Unfortunately it is a few more steps, but it will give your site the same effect!

    • @JustinFosterJustinchi
      @JustinFosterJustinchi Год назад

      You can still add a background image to the page. It's just a little different than before. You have to go into the pages section on the left side and change it from the three-dot menu for the selected page.

    Is it fair to say that since the introduction of Sections, strips are similar to say “inner sections” that are used on Elementor?

      This may still be a beta feature but make sure you’re looking for it on a strip element and not the sections

      Yes, when you are creating a new site, add the blog to it, there is an option (in the blog settings in the dashboard) to import your blog from another Wix website you own.
