Difficulty - Legendary
Skulls - Skulls will automatically be selected when you select the Halo 3 LASO playlist. They are as follows: Black Eye, Blind, Catch, Cowbell, Famine, Grunt Birthday Party, Iron, IWHBYD, Mythic, Thunderstorm, Tilt, and Tough Luck.

I just beat ODST LASO using your old guides. and now I am watching these to improve for the second LASO playlist. I must say, the step-up in quality and updated information using better techniques is amazing! Keep up the fantastic work! Appreciate you!
For everyone having trouble: there is a much easier, safer but slower way to do this without having to juggle any weapons and worry about them despawning etc
Give Mickey a laser. Due to the tilt skull he is not very effective against brutes with the rockets, but with a laser he takes down a brute's shields in one hit. The brutes will go berserking so you will need to keep a pistol around to headshot them if they go after you, but other than that Mickey can essentially clear the entire level for you.
Then you just need to worry about hiding and surviving. In the big open area outside with the wraiths, you can hide behind that screen near the building entrance, where you also find the rockets.
In the first inside area, while the enemies are pouring in from the doors you can hide in the back where the phantoms will spawn later, and then when the phantoms spawn you go back and hide near the doors where the first waves came from. This is pretty foolproof for the first major areas (but slow, so you might want to still grab a laser yourself or some rockets/grenades/plasma pistol to chip in from a safe distance or at least to jostle enemy AI when they're hiding for a long time)
In the last area you can hide in the elevator and the small hall outside of it, but be careful since the hammer brute can sometimes hurt you through the wall while smacking Mickey. It's better to bring a plasma pistol just in case a brute comes too close to your position, but with some luck you might not be attacked at all here either.

can confirm that this method works. He likes to spam nades alot when outside so can take some time for him to get things done (had to backsmack a few distracted brutes here and there). But it's a very safe strat and it really speeds things along if you stand back with a plasma pistol/rifle.
I literally only died like twice and that was because i got a bit too brave with the brute hammer on the roof.
Only big problem with giving him the laser is how long it takes to fire. He'll get stuck in a cycle of starting to charge up, only to roll out of the way when a brute fires two shots or throws a grenade at him. Rockets, on the other hand, can fire much faster.
Also the dumb bastard fell down an elevator shaft after getting bounced around too much, the level is literally impossible without him.

To anyone still going for this : use your first laser to kill the two hunters with two shots each. Then give your almost empty laser to mickey. Mickey can take out the brutes shields with 1 hit.
Then use a second laser to kill two wraiths.
You board the third.
The few laser shots you have left arent that necassary since mickey will do all the work.
You can use it anyway you'd like

@@ScottyBoy843in my experience rockets are pretty useless so i randomly shot them at the beginning. You could also save them up to use inside the building to easily kill the jackals. But the most important weapon in this mission is your pistol a plasma pistol and mickey with a laser

Agreed. Even though he's dodging grenades CONSTANTLY. He still manages to get off more lasers than rockets, and it stops moving enemies around unpredictably and just straight up does more damage too. You don't really need to enter the building with any of the weapons.
The Red Plasma Rifle does alot of damage against their shields in this part since the rocket dudes have less shields I think. (They always dodge my noob combo even when they're out of render distance 100% all the time its infuriating.)
You must have the wrong skulls on or something because Wraiths/hunters dont die from one laser shot
Here's my strat that worked for me if anyone else is having trouble with this level:
At the start, use the laser to take out the Hunters, 2 shots each. Then give the laser to Mickey. Put the fresh laser and rockets by the door, then move to the entrance of the area and put one plasma pistol at the bottom of the stairs, and 2 on the little balcony thing (also optional, just helps for long-ranging the brutes).
When the two Wraiths spawn in, try to sneak up on them, but if they notice you then EMP them with a plasma pistol and then board/destroy them as usual. (sometimes the gunner will jump out but his AI will be broken and can easily be headshot). Kill some Brutes with the 2 plasma pistols you stashed, then later after destroying the 3rd Wraith move up to the door to the next area (this is the real RNG part). Try to get the rockets and laser though the door and give the rockets to a Marine if you want. Sniper isn't necessary.

Giving the laser to Mickey is actually insane. The following area with the turret was so easy with Mickey destroying all the brute shields.
I mean we just did it and I was able to 1 shot the wraiths with Splaser.. So duno what you're on about

I don't understand, even in Halo 3 LASO, you take out everything much more easier than I do. Those hunters take two shots for me. The wrathes take two hits as well. Even the beam rifle, it takes around 5-6 hit for the brutes armors to pop. Has the damage or something for LASO been updated since these videos because everyone just seems much more buffer in my games.
Exactly the same results for me too. Its really frustrating.
He's not using the LASO playlist, I assume. Probably forgot to turn on the Mythic skull

You have to hit both the wraiths and hunters in the right spots to one hit kill them
Yeah, it happened to me too, but I dont need do exactly the same that him, I wasted 4 shots with the hunters and zero shots with the Wraiths.

I just asked him on stream about the Hunters and Wraiths not dying in 1 shot and he said it is super specific where you have to shoot them, and to aim where he does. He also said that he should have mentioned that in the video. I haven't tried it since yet but I hope this helps anybody else struggling with those segments!
Yea I was struggling with that too. In the uplift reserve mission he also one shotted the two wraith in the beginning of the mission. I couldn't do that so I ended up just driving past them lol
i remember him saying you got to shoot on the side, but he shoots them in the front and they still die in one shot

The laser definitely doesn't one shot hunters and wraiths. I've reset multiple times trying to hit them in different spots, mostly where you shot and nothing.
for anyone struggle bussin this one mosty do what the legend does but make sure to pick up the sniper and sniper ammo in the first part of the mission, juggle the sniper, pistol, and laser to the upward staircase and leave the sniper there while you take down the 2 hunters that drop in the first wave, give the laser with one shot to mickey. go back and pick up the sniper and maneuver to the top of the hill, pick up the rest of the sniper ammo at the top and juggle the sniper, 1 of the full lasers and the rocket launcher to the doorway into the base and move back down the hill, grab at least 2 plasma pistols for dealing with the brutes like silver does, you'll be dealing with the enemies from the back location unless you run outta ammo. when the first wave enemies are dead use your full laser to 2 hit both wraiths, dont use the laser on a brute, keep it. Noob combo the enemies in the second wave till they all dead once the 3rd wraith drops dispatch it by punching the back and eliminate a large portion of the enemies while proceeding to the door, dont worry too much about juggling the wepons through but you may need to toss some nades at charging brutes, Once in the base you have time to find the empty laser cause the enemies dont come in until you enter the middle of the room and trigger the dialogue. give the almost empty laser to the police sargeant Stacker, and the rockets to the shotgun cop and juggle the sniper back to the corner where silver is. use the pistol to deal with suicide grunts and the sniper to deal with the jackal but your souped up allies will melt the brutes down for you so you can pistol them. do not jump on the turret. if you want you can detach it and bring it to the nest for backup. In my playthrough if Mickey gets blasted off the battlefield and down into the void he always respawns in with the laser so dont worry about resetting, unless he doesnt respawn for you. once the offensive moves to the balcony area move to the prior area of the room and continue fighting there, at this point you may have run outta sniper ammo, and your full laser may be empty, thats fine you'll just need to be more patient and resourceful now, mickey will laser the brutes knocking their armor of which causes them to charge, which is an easy backsmack. once the second wave is done juggle all plasma pistols into the elevator and grab the smg to deal with any buggers. once on the roof use grenades and noob combos to shake and bake the brutes and jackals until the job is done.
@halocompletionist These guides are amazing.. I'm wondering how you kill enemies so quickly, specifically the wraiths on this level. I'm using at least two shots from the laser and in some cases still not getting them. Anyone else having this issue?

How exactly do you kill the hunters in one shot? Always takes me two laser shots. Same with the wraiths.
i am having the exact same issue, couldnt get the wraiths killed on Uplift Reserve either, luckily that level is easy even when they take 2 shots each, just needed to go grab the rocket in the central firefight area

Im assuming Silver is re-creating the LASO playlist and not using the one preset one, and forgot to enable the Mythic skull

There's no way you have mythic on silver, it always takes 2 shots for the wraiths and hunters, I love your guides but why don't you address this?
Yeah I don’t get that it would make more sense to record via the playlist for the most accurate experience
I haven't tested it myself but I'm pretty sure the discrepancy you're experiencing is because you aren't hitting the Hunters in the exposed wormy bits. It looks to me like that's where he's hitting them.
I advise having the spartan laser you gave to the police officer inside the ONI building and take it upstairs to the roof with you. Kills the Brute Chieftain in one go on.

Played this last night and once we entered the HQ I gave Mickey a spartan laser and whoo boy he did work lmao
If your plasma pistol/ laser keeps disappearing: I had some luck juggling them frequently and not leaving them on that terrace but always having them at my feet after the first 2 wraiths
Something clearly changed between now and when this guide was released, as the hunter one shot does not work. I wonder what 343 did? Maybe the playlist didn't have the tilt skull enabled initially? Regardless, this might be the least effective guide I've seen from Silver for any LASO level, but that's not too surprising considering how badly designed this level is for LASO. Any level that forces you to rely on bad AI companions for any reason, _especially_ when those AI characters can get stuck out of bounds (elevator shafts in the ONI building, had to reset twice because of it) is going to be a nightmare no matter what you do.

Just wanna say that the brute plasma rifle is also a good choice to take down their shields if you dont have a pistol.
How come it takes me more than two lasers no matter what to get those two hunter even after shooting them in the back??
You really should update these laso strats. The wraiths and hunters aren't 1 shot laser. Also highly debatable if your Ai buddy should have rockets or laser.

Hey silver great guide but on the elevator on at least co-op you can jump off and be warped up top and take zero damage guarantee also if you save a spartan laser with 2 shots you can kill the brute chiften which spawns in the pelican to help kill the other brutes.

i just waited until the wraith wasnt noticing me anymore and shot his back, which is a one shot. For the hunters i just bit the bullet and lasered them twice and just wanted to get tf outta the first part, not carrying the lasers like he said.
To be fair, I was hoping the part where you enter the ONI building had some hiding places where Mickey would just kill everybody whilst doing some home chores :p
This level doesn't seem too hard with this defensive strategy of setting up the weapons, but even then, those hammer chieftains are pretty intimidating when they attack you in close quarters. I know the hit in the back strategy is pretty consistent but you feel like a derp when they perform their other attack (it happened before :'( )

Do not use this courtyard strategy. It does not work with updated health of mobs. Laser doesn't have enough shots and you're left improvising.
Luckily for me, Mikey did not kill me with Grenades. He actually pretty much cleared the rooftop too. I only killed 2 Brutes, 1 Jackel and 1 Grunt. Still took me 45 mins but I will take it.
To reiterate, the laser still doesn't one shot wraiths and hunters. Follow Noah M's comment; it will guide you
I'm just now doing laso and it seems Silver won't address why he only uses one shot in wraiths/hunters...it's probably because he wasn't doing the actual laso playlist and mythic wasn't on. Or 343 updated

My lasers kept despawning so I had to do it the old fashioned way

damn no more easy mythics i guess.. although I could have done it if the game didn't glitch by getting frozen in one spot. then restarted and lost motivation to stay alive the second playthrough, although hammer man got me in the end cause i tried to stun him and step him when he was cush against the side i tried to step him... should have just let him go outside and attack the other guy with infinite health until he would have probably eventually accidentally jumped..
Bruh Micky straight up dies... He gets knocked off the edge several times and eventually doesn't come back
idk why i do this to myself i only have 200 hours in halo altogether lol but here i am trying to 100% MCC

Those brutes just would NOT let me get the second pistol, wasted all 3 health packs cause they suddenly stopped aggroing Mickey

If mickey gets blasted into a pit, will he come back? Sometimes he appears to, other times I haven't seen him respawn so I revert checkpoint.
Would be nice if you did some coop guides or the like because for me both the wraith and hunters took 2 hits each with the splazer. Oh and what happens if Mickey falls off the map while doing the firefight just before the elevator ? Is there any way to get him back or is it gonna have to be a whole restart
For me in 99% of the cases he respawned back in the lobby. In that 1% I just hit save/quit, and resumed again (starting at last checkpoint)

Better strats which is handy for me as I'm not the best LASO player out there but Silver makes things quite easy, especially with these new guides.
Yeah that whole set up at the start didn't go so well. By the time I start getting my used spartan laser marines kill all the enemies. So I can't get in position at the start
At the start when u need to kill the 2 wraiths, you don't need a spartan laser to kill them. You only need a plasma pistol to stun the wraith then simply walk up to it then board it in front. Once you destroy the wraith, you will get your health back. Then you can do the same thing to the second wraith.
Do not worry about the turret guy in front because of the Tilted Skull which means you don't take as much plasma damage since you are ODST, have no shields but have very high hp and can take a lot of plasma shots.
However watch out for the wraith blast, it is the only thing that will kill you so you may need to strafe.

are you on heroic i just did this mission and wraiths and hunters taken two spartan laser shoots in the middle just seems weird you are one shooting them or cause normal halo 3 you can one shot wraiths from shooting at the gunner and driver if you hit both that destroys the wraith in one hit i did that on odst and taken me two shoots and i also gave micky a spartan laser it one shots brutes or takes out there shields and i uses plasma pistol to take shield down and then when they get angry i let them jump at me and then i back smack them when the time is right sort of feels like a dark souls rpg where there is dodging and hit lol and also i hanged by the stairs so with the wraiths dead only had to worry about grenades on this laso and omg grunts hardly miss its nuts and brute shot another annoying gun to vs but it taken me 1 hour and 50 minutes and when i played with two other people this taken 3 hours and 50 minutes lol but some kept dying when that happened and so im gonna be playing laso with a friend and making videos and with any mission you just have to get lucky and you will get a new check point and keep getting further and further until you reach the end but so what i did i put all the laso skulls on and turned off iron skull cause on co op when one dies you both go to checkpoint so im practicing a co op laso and this mission you just have to have patience and found another good tip at that holding off part inside and brutes spam grenades they move forward and u and sneak up and back smack im worried about two missions regret and grave mind and maybe two betrayals on halo 1 truth and reconciliation taken me and a friend 7 hours but i played solo with all skulls on the playlist just turned off iron and passed it in 2 hour and 25minutes hopefully when i play with my new friend we get a video that size and not 10 hours or something hahaha

Im getting so unlucky on this one. Ive had the 2 phantoms with the wraiths spawn almost immediately while i was still juggling lasers, ive had both plasma pistols despawn, and now im restarting over and over because the marines at the start won't spawn with pistols any more. First 3 levels I did with almost no deaths/restarts at all but i've hit a brick wall on this one.

Hey man. Are you going to re upload a legit run for this? Its obvious that you are not using the correct skulls. I did all the setting up then realized I had no lazer left because the wraiths and hunters take me two shots and you one. Am I wrong?
Blame updates to the game since this was published. All skulls were on as you can tell from the scores, but the many patches since have clearly messed with the damage/physics in some way.
