    This tutorial is to make the Love My Granny Cardigan in size 0-3 months, with a change of yarn it can be made to fit 3-6 months or change of yarn and hook to fit 6-12 months.
    This is me going slow, if I am too fast for you press settings and change the playback speed to slow me down!
    Gauge
    With a 4 mm hook and weight 3 yarn
    9 dc and 4 rows = 2” x 2” (3 clusters x 4 rows)
    0-3 months using weight 3 yarn and 4 mm hook
    Finished chest approx 18"
    or
    3-6 months 20" using weight 4 yarn and 4 mm hook
    Finished chest approx 20"
    or
    using weight 4 yarn and a 5 mm hook you could make 6-12 months size making the length of body and sleeves 1" longer than the 3-6 months.
    Materials
    300 meters of weight 3 yarn for the 0-3 months or 250 metres of weight 4 yarn for 3-6 months
    3.5 mm crochet hook for the ribbed edging
    4 mm crochet hook for the main cardigan
    4 stitch markers
    3 x 15-20 mm buttons (can be made without, by skipping the buttonholes)
    The pattern can also be made with the granny spike stitch if you prefer less holes than the regular granny stitch. This closes the holes and makes it more cosy.
    The videos can be found on my channel to use the granny spike stitch and how to do the bottom edging for the cardigan.
    I used @UniversalYarnVideos Universal yarn Uptown worsted hues shade painted desert for this tutorial and some contrasting cream. universalyarn....
    The full pattern in sizes 0-3 months to 10 years can be purchased here www.ravelry.co...
    I also have an Adult version here

    I like your video much better than another video I saw that has this same sweater which is made just a little differently. The subtitles at the top make this video so easy to follow. Thank you.

    Hi found this pattern easy to follow until ribbing. When you reach the shaping on neck is it still 2 sc in each stick. And The back I’ve done 2 stitches between clusters and and one stich in middle . But it’s very baggy. Any help thanks

    You're one of the first I've seen on RUclips that holds the yarn like me. I thought I was doing it wrong this whole time.
    Beautiful cardigan btw. I have followed for more ideas for my little one:)

      Except for being left handed..I tension my yarn exactly like this as well....were you a knitter ? I thought that was the reason for my holding the yarn between my fingers.

    • @lovenikkeita
      @lovenikkeita Год назад

      @impunitythebagpuss I've never knitted before. However my introduction into crochet was in a portiguese style taught by mother who is left handed. Despite that, I've tried and tried to hold the yarn as the others do, but its not happening. 😅 Perhaps that solves the mystery?

    I started one of these using #3 yearn and a 4mm hook. The yoke turned out to be 9 inches across the back so the size for a two year old instead of an infant. I tried again using a 3.25mm hook and it still turned out too large.For a newborn do you thing I should go down to a 2.5mm hook maybe?
    I'm going to finish both of these because babies grow fast but I'd like to make one that will fit my newest great grandbaby right away and the baby will probably only weigh about 5 lbs

    • @babycrochetdesigns
      @babycrochetdesigns  9 дней назад

      The intended yoke size for 0-3 months is 18" so 9" across is right. You could do one less row before divide for armholes. Or I have the preemie size pattern on my website.

      @@babycrochetdesigns thank you so much. I actually did find your preemie pattern a couple days ago and have made three cardigans with it. I really love this pattern.

    Can you suggest how I could make this for a 2 year old with size 4 yarn? It’s not easy to get size 3 yarn where I live! I tried making the 1-2 year size in your pattern with size 4 yarn and it was incredibly large! Maybe I need to switch to the 6-12 month instructions instead?

    • @babycrochetdesigns
      @babycrochetdesigns  10 месяцев назад

      Using size 4 yarn and 4mm hook you will need to make a size smaller if using a 5mm hook make two sizes smaller 😊

    You know how there's a "right" side of the crochet project, and the "bad" side?
    I tried turning mine inside out to get the neat side outwards but...both sides look the same. Wavy and "line-y". ..does anybody know how this happened? Could it be that I have been turning it the wrong way when I start the next row?
