If you do get a Vita, get the OLED. I also recommend configuring it to play on your monitor/tv through pc or laptop with a PS4 controller connected through bluetooth.
I really do enjoy tweaking around with the Vita. There is always something new that I learn about this little machine. I can't wait till we are able to do all this kind of stuff with nintendo switch.
An easier way to have the PS Vita reset after installing or uninstalling any plugins is to press the start button on the PS Vita and it will give you the option to restart your system so that the plugins can take effect. Great video though!
the actual vita cpu is underclocked by default. this is not stressing the chip, as it runs on the default rated speed of it I think. But of course it would make the battery run out a bit faster. (not by much though)
Thanks! Yeah, the Vita can take it, so can the PSTV. Can't say for sure about the Vita (but almost has to be) but the PSTV has thermal pads in there to help dissipate heat.
If anyone has this issue in the future the fix is to press Start in Vita Shell, go to where it says USB device and make sure you set the correct storage. Mine had to be set to sd2Vita for the file to finally appear.
Too bad this wont make 30 fps psp games run at 60 fps simply bc the engine those games were made in was designed from the ground up for 30 fps. If those games ran at variable framerates 30-60 then the OC should make a locked 60 fps possible on the Vita
Same, followed every step and can't see the file, did you get it to work? EDIT: I managed to find a work around. Instead of sending that file through the USB cable onto the vita, I just took out the SD card and put it into the computer and transfered the file directly onto the SD card. Hopefully that helps anyone struggling.
Definitely make sure you know where it's being pasted on your Vita's storage. Another possibility is that, if you're using a Vita 2000, sometimes Windows will see the internal 1GB storage as UX0 rather than a memory card or SD2Vita. Worth checking.
I'd love an updated Vita dock and PS3 controller connected to the vita video. I had a vita a while back and sold it because I just couldn't get the overclocking to work and the PS3 controller I was using with the vita, the R2 and L2 buttons didn't work. If we all that is fixed then I may have to get a Vita again
It helps a bit. I've tried it before with Flycast. It largely depends on the game you're running in Flicast. Some run fairly well already and some are slow even with overclocking.
That's great to hear. The PS Vita is a fantastic system with a lot of potential. Once it arrives, follow the steps carefully and you'll be able to unlock even more features. If you run into any issues, feel free to ask. Enjoy your new Vita!
@@blainelocklair Thanks Blaine. I'll be sure to check out all of your Vita tutorials once it arrives. Your videos are the sole reason that I've modded almost every console that I own!
Yes overclocking spends more battery. It’s only unlocking the power the vita already has, since it’s already underclocked for longevity of battery life
The only thing I don't like about the Vita hacked is the long load times for games in Retroarch...is there any way to speed it up? Even on 2600 games you have to wait a long time for it to load...
@@poncho828Nonsense, the Vita was meant to have more performance, but Sony decided to decrease its performance so, no, the Vita is just in its natural state with overclock.
I don't beloeve so. It was already underclocked from the factory so it should be able to handle overclocking readily. I'd think the worst case would be a temp reset / shutdown if temps get a little toasty.
I’ve jailbroken my vita but I’m thinking of factory resetting it to sell it off. Will it harm the vita if I just factory reset it or will it be fine? Someone pls let me know

Thanks for showing the games before and after. Really shows how much improvement you get by overclocking it!
At 8:30 what Blaine means to say is "press and HOLD the PS button." If you just press you get a different menu

Thanks Blaine for the always easy to follow guide. I like the new access to the settings over the old button combo psvshell ui
Thinking about geting a Vita, But at the moment i'm busy with OG Xbox modchips and 360 RGH. Also love the new mic!

Not a fan of "overclocking" but this is awedome. 😎 Vita is a power machine ahead of its time along with the PSP.

Agreed. That would really be amazing.
What do you use to record the screen of your windows 11 computer?
Elgato 4K60 S+. Records up to 10-but 4K HDR direct to SD cards. Also records the PSTV once HDCP is removed by the HDMI splitter.
