There's also an app in the Vita that can download (almost) all PSP, Ps1 and PS Vita for you through the wifi connection directly to your Vita.

@@ROCKSTARMANIC12 They are ports of the mobile version with fixed features and bug fixes. Basically someone made an APK loader into the Vita which can make it run on the device.

yeah this is my first video of his and I'm thinking.. is all his videos like this because his cadence/talking style is very interesting. Connect the Vita to the PC with a cable. Open Vitashell, press select. This way you don't have to remove and insert the memory card every time.
Can you do it with a mac?

2. You can now install mods onto your games, download homebrew games and PC ports or ports from other devices, and a bunch of other quality of life things like Theme downloaders, over/underclocking etc.

I ordered a Vita an hour ago. Now comes that looooong wait on shipping. I would say I'm a handheld enthusiast. Some of the best times of my life happen in my hand 😉.
The OLED screen was a big deal. I've never owned a fancy screen before. I cannot wait to own such a versatile device, I loved the PSP but I know almost nothing about the Vita library. An entire library of games to discover.

I just bought one for parts $48 with shipping, arrived a day ago. Replace the battery and it’s charging and powering on with no issues. Honestly don’t know what I’m looking at, its all new.

Seriously this thing is probably the best 1st party handheld to mod. The fact that Sony themselves fumbled the Vita is a shame. But the internet gaming community brought new life(Vita) to this console. Forever grateful to own one.
Now get a jailbroken ps4 pro and put an ssd in. You will see almost no need of owning a ps5. Jailbroken ps4 does a lot of things and feels like a different console. You will have options like a pc and tweak different graphic settings. I'm having much fun with the ps4 actually.

I think it was underutilized more than anything. So much potential but nothing to do with it on release and not a lot of marketing
@@jeremymcadam7400 I think it was under developed for because of the lack luster sales. I also think a big part of the poor sales was do to the memory card prices. I always wanted one, but I waited for years for the memory cards to drop in price. I gave up, and only recently got one.
I can testify that a 512GB card works fine in a modded Vita. Mine is STUFFED with games and emulators and I only have 1GB free, at this point. lol I'd say to look at some of the impressive ports people have made for the Vita and also a bunch of the emulators the thing can run. I seriously have thousands of old-school games emulated on my Vita. I love stuff like old NES, SNES, GBA, C-64, Vic-20, Atari 2600/5200/7800, Sega MasterSystem, Genesis/Megadrive, Turbografx and CD, Sega CD and 32X, MAME, Atari 800, ScummVM games, some N64, Amiga, Lynx, ColecoVision, Odyssey II, DOS games in DOSBOX, Intellivision, Vectrex, Game Gear, Infocom Z-Machine, and even some random single-game handhelds. It plays most everything I listed here pretty well, so if you are into old-school games like I am, there is a lot you can do with it. :-)

Ive been playing ps vita as my main system for the last 2 years. The catalogue of vita games is insane, before you jailbreak
This is great system now is hard to find games in retro stores alway few or nothing. I collect for it almost 300 physical games

As someone who really wants to give this a go mostly for the adrenaline application. How easily is it to find the files for the games? Are all psp games available to get on the Vita? NFL Street 2 Unleashed would be one of the ones I’d be looking to get on my Vita.

the ones not on the app that @TheSayanTurtle mentioned are generally pretty easy to find online. Google is your friend. ;-)
If not on pkgj doesn't have it you can find rom/iso and use vital shell app you get when jailbreaked and send to vita little more steps but works.

A whole bunch of PS2 HD classics were also released for the Vita, so technically it can play PS1, PS2, PSP and Vita games, and then also almost every retro system

At first I loved the PS Vita, then I realized that I didn't have much to do with it, at least not something that really caught my attention.
As much as I love my modded PSVita i still think a modded PSPGo is the best handheld system of all time

Love my jailbroken Vita Oled, also connecting your ps4 control to it changes everything and then blowing it up on OBS to your monitor is magic. I've had my same Vita since launch.

Gba and snes yes they work very well. Don't know about DS but I don't think so.
No ds i believe or if so you have too much slow down unless a dev works on it

The PS Vita has become one of my favourite handheld consoles ever. I get to play PSP games I never got the chance to play and even some PS Vita games. Although not all PS Vita games are perfect. For example, I downloaded Ratchet & Clank trilogy on my Vita and only the first 2 games are only playable, while the third Ratchet & Clank game gives me an error message and it's unplayable. The first game has an audio issue, where the music doesn't change and sometimes the music doesn't even play at all, while Going Commando seem like the only fully functional Ratchet & Clank game on the system. I tried to download Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus for the Vita from my computer, but it seems like the game cannot be downloaded or played on the system. Why? I do not know the answer. PS Vita may not be the perfect system and not all games can be playable, I still love playing the console and having a good time. Heck, the Vita is much easier to carry around, then the Nintendo Switch, since the Switch feels like I'm carrying a brick half the time.

for the PS3 this is not true. There is no need to follow the whole tutorial. For example I just downloaded the HFW and the CFW right after that, I install it and I was ready. The whole dumping thing is not needed.
This is definitely cool and all, but I got a Steam Deck OLED and that thing blows the Vita away to shreds. I have every PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Nintendo game imaginable. So it just makes this obsolete for me. And emulating on the deck is way easier to set up than jail breaking this vita.
Do you think the steam deck is better than the vita😮
An issue is the Vita3k emulation does not work well for all Vita games.
