- So a little while back, my little brother bought himself a PsVita, and ever since then I couldn't help but love this handheld console, even though originally it was seen as a flop when it came out back in 2011.

Can you play android games on it? Is there any emulator? Cause if i buy it then i play all best games.. ill probably be bored of it
@dailystats6454 Can emulate ps1 and anything before it pretty good. Whole psp and vita catalog. Stream from ps4. Movies. Some android game ports are on there, ive never explored those though. Can run retroarch.

You nailed it! I got the Vita with one or two games and then another game from the psn store, then the memory card was full so i just stopped to use the console since a bigger memorycards was to expensive.
Mod it with usb c and you're good to go

@@wrightlawgbcI mean imagine you have 5 devices and each one has its own charging port, you have 5 cables, 5 brics whatever, now all your devices have the same port, 1/2 cables. Second as you said yes the ps vita is old and it is a proprietary cable, if you break the cable you will need to somehow get another and that is not a pleasant experience, with usb c is so much easier to replace

@@jux3283 I just got one on Ebay, from a seller in Nagoya, Japan... I ordered it on a Friday, it shipped the following Thursday, and I had it the following day (IE, a week after I ordered it). I got a PS Vita 1000. It wasn't "New in box", but it did come in a new looking box (and the device looks new)... It's a GREAT device!

I got my 1000 for a little over $1oo from Japan about two months ago and I'm absolutely in love. I mainly bought it because I wanted to play TXK, but it turns out I've been going through fan translated PSP JRPGs that I've always wanted to play but didn't feel like loading up an emulator on the PC for. It's a great console with an SD2Vita.
Just replayed rayman legends on my vita. The dpad is unmatched on this thing seriously

If you a guy who like modding and try to self install mod, then the vita is a great console, since most of fun come from modding your vita and try to make plugins work for some homebrew ports. But if you don't want to do too much on modding then 3ds or a psp is better

Got mine in 2015 when i was stuck living on base (navy) and the exchange was sold out of 3ds's. Always wanted the vita and the 3ds, but i wanted the 3ds library more. Long story short, now i own both, and ive used the vita waaaaay more lol
Still have a oled psvita white version in the box haven't touched it in a while lol. Have all the memory card sizes 64gb, 32gb, 16gb, 8gb and 4gb. Still have some games like unit 13, ridge racer, soul sacrifice, freedom wars, shinobido 2, etc.

No, I actually bought it off an Irish buy and sell website called Adverts. Collected it right here in Dublin. You might want to check that out before ordering anything from Japan because I assume you would have to pay import tax for anything from over there.

I'm from Belgium. Bought a vita off eBay, new open box aqua blue. Paid 230 euro for it, shipping included, from japan. Had to pay taxes at customs, but to me it was worth it.
Emulation is decent on the Vita for older games from PS One and before

i paid 50€ for mine when they released the 3.60 jailbreak i think ow no the 3.71 or what ever i think i needed a psvita 3.70 or lower and the one i bought wasnt been used since months.
anyway its in a used state but that means i wont baby it. its great but to be honest i dont use it. but i love it. but dont use it... might sell it got my gpd xd that i also never use and love but its getting old :)

Get a Vita slim or mod it for usb-C. Carry an extra cable for charge your vita outside is annoying.

Afaik, there are no good DS and 3DS emulators for the Vita, but for game boy, game boy advance, game boy colour, NES, SNES, N64 - it's really fun to play those games; very nostalgic to play the original game boy games. :) PS1, PSP and PS Vita games also play without issues. I absolutely love the PS Vita and I have two of them - and the third one's coming in soon! :D
Haven't tried the ds or 3ds emu but everything else yes. Might test out the ds and 3ds emus later.

Sony's "handheld" line needs to be dedicated to backwards compatibility or just releasing "collections" of EVERY past gen's greatest hits from the ps2 era. Just "demake" a ton of games that released on ps2 (or UP the resolution a bit. SOME ppl only care about THE GAMS ITSELF BEING ENJOYABLE. Not just "graphics" like some of yall FORCE yourselves to pretend to care about 😂) and it will be a guaranteed smash hit

I have a 64gb sd card that works perfectly well. Although most hacking guides online seem to advise using 128gb or less.
I use a 256. Works great. My vita is a portal to the past. Filled up my card and now I'm done.

That's true, I forgot to mention anything about battery life.
It's quite easy to replace the battery, and you can find guides for this on the internet. :)
PS vita such a amazing device, but unfortunately phone exists.
I think ps vita, psp, ps3, xbox 360 and wii all modded are worth it in 2024. Maybe add a 2dsxl in there. If u do all that x2 you will have an amazing time. For a gift buy these for your loved one. Guy or girl gamer or not. They will love you.
Every handy should have a Vita. Even though I use Miyoo Mini + more often for ps1 games

If you want to play on the Tv, yea. PS3s are still amazing. But if you want a handheld, PSVita may be what you're looking for. All depends on what kind of device you want I guess.

It's a damn Shame a handheld system i this case was such a flop that the only real reason olwn this thing these days is to have modded one with a load of pirated games.
The reason it failed is it got released at the wrong time and second the Consumers caused the a huge hack back in 2011 on the PS3 causing Sony to go with the memory cards that they did with Vita. If you took a look at the PSP software sales you'd noticed there were quiet a bit of psp games that got ported to the PS2 because people just made the PSP hacked garbage and developers weren't making enough money to make it worthwhile.
So it basically comes down to stop hacking their shit and reporting it on the internet making it a mainstreme thing. if ur going jail brake it keep it to urself.

The original oled 1000 is great but, the ps vita slim (2000) has more battery life, no propietary plug, and in my opinion some design changes that make it look a bit more slick.
Slept by a note 10+ for $80.

@@manistechshack that connector on the bottom of the ps vita is for vita output😅 you can display the vita to a tv and or monitor, sony even had docks for the vita😅 way before the switch did.
@truthseekersthenewomega97 Overall, I'd say the 2000 is the better option except in the display department. The OLED on the 1000 is obviously going to be better, but if that doesn't bother you, and you can find one for the right price, I'd rather get a 2000.
