Yes those brackets are to hold the e-brake lines away from the tire and closer to the LCA. I pieced together my 5 lug, 4 wheel disc brake setup like 10 years ago and simply yanked from little brackets from a 1999 V6 in the junkyard.

I just did this conversion a few months ago and it is great kit. It does however, have a few short comings IMO. For those of you who don't weld, here is a part # for the e-brake handle that holds the paw in place 1R3Z-2A753-BA. Also, if you are planning on converting don't be surprised if you have a "moaning" sound coming from the rear turning corners or braking. I know they say this kit is supposed to do away with the anti-moan brackets, I wasn't that lucky. Not all anti-moan brackets are the same either. I had to get a 2nd pair that had the U-bolt holes more towards the center because you will have to trim about 1/4" off the ends to get them to fit.

I recently replaced my booster and master cylinder and what a PITA! I planned a weekend for it so the entire week I would go outside and spray all the lines with penetrating oil and they all came off with no headache. I think what I dud was overkill but I been doing it for years. I remember doing the same thing to header bolts and by the time I was ready to remove the header the bolts felt like they were finger tight.

I pieced this kit together probably 20 years ago… I need those brackets to keep the parking brake cables off the tire… they been zip tied to the control arms for over 20 years… lol. I think I used a 93 parking brake handle…. You don’t have to modify it!!! I did under the hood the exact same way you did…I did not change the booster to the 93 cobra… just the master cylinder… and adjusted the rod gutted the proportion valve and used a solid endcap with an adjustable portioning valve… in the same spot you used

Good video. I did the 5 lug with rear disc brake upgrade. I went with the larger cobra front and back discs. I also got the SN95 kit from LMR that included the 93 Cobra Master Cylinder and got good used 95 spindles from a junk yard. After the 5 lug disc swap, braking was terrible!! After doing this upgrade and running the car, really had to be careful when slowing down as the stock booster cannot boost enough to stop the car and the pedal was super stiff. I purchased a 93 Brake Booster from RockAuto (yet to be installed as the floor is getting fixed). The car just had terrible brake characteristics with the stock 88 booster. I also got lucky with the anti-moan brackets (as another commenter did not), as mine worked.
I can't say if keeping the stock front calipers and just doing rear disc if the booster would be bad or not. I can only confirm the booster upgrade is needed for the 13" front and 11.65" rear disc.

I've had a bunch of these cars and currently have 5. After upgrading front rotors, I can't say I've noticed benefits from rear discs. I will say that I only run them on the street and short tracks. It's my understanding that they do prove better on a track where brake fade might be an issue. I will also say that, while I'm not advocating skipping the c-clip eliminators(or 9 inch ends), a disc brake setup may keep a broken axel from exiting the housing. For 95% of folks, I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze. My pace car has sn95/93 cobrs front brake setup and that car stops on a dime. Anything more is just a waste of time and money (unless you're worried about fade). The title of this video suggests rear discs should be yours first mod. I can think of about 15 others that are WAY more useful. I also understand I am in the minority here lol!

Great install video Gary! Those little rings that you put on the axles before the rotors are actually called "hub centric rings". And they do exactly what they did for you. They center the rotor perfectly on the axle. Lots of aftermarket axles like Strange or Moser have those rings machined right into the axle to centre the wheel also as opposed to centring the wheels with the Lugnuts on the studs.

Dunno if I buy that, Gary. Well-adjusted rear drums work just fine on the street. Discs win on the track because they're more fade resistant. I was going to go rear discs on my '85 ASC Coupe, but found through much discussion the better call was '87-93 V8 fronts and properly adjusting my rear drums. Stops great now. Only complaint is the Power Stop ceramic pads are filthy beasts compared to the Wagner ceramics I had-- a HUGE deal on these orange lace wheels. I need to get off my ass and install it, I can drive the car the way it is but the brakes aren't as good as they should be hopefully this will help.
