left out a very important piece if information. According to the masters over at Maximum Motorsports: Do not install a 1996-04 spindle on a 1979-93 Mustang fitted with a stock-geometry k-member! Doing so will significantly increase bumpsteer because... 1. The steering arm on the 1996-04 spindle is about 1.02" (26mm) lower (relative to the rest of the spindle) than the steering arm of any 1979-95 spindle. 2. The lower steering arm forces the outer tie-rod end to a lower position. That new position is far too low for the steering rack location of any 1979-93 Mustang, and radically changes the steering geometry. 3. It is impossible to correct the geometry with a bumpsteer kit because the outer tie-rod end needs to be raised so much that it would have to occupy the same physical space as the steering arm.
For street applications, 96-04 spindles can be used in conjunction with factory stock k-members. We've been doing so for years without any alignment or drive-ability issues. -Landan

First you bleed the master cylinder before installing it on the car, otherwise you never get all the air out. Great video otherwise. I converted mine (88) with Lincoln Mark & front slotted rotors from ebay and rear brakes from 94 and newer Mustang also from ebay back in 2006. Calipers, axles. mounting brackets and splash shields. all fit right in. I did replace parking brake cables with new but didn't modify the spring on the handle and work just as it did before. Replaced master with 94 Cobra master and the prop valve with the manually adjustable one. The only problem noted just a few years ago is that the front rotors are rubbing the caliper on the inside leaving 2 groves in there. Original calipers. 17" x8" wheels . no rubbing problems front or rear. Original springs.
The kit should contain all new hardware so you don't have to reuse anything. If you watch a video made by Saul Castaneda you will see the issues he had installing this kit for one of his customers.

@@mylanmiller9656 Some SN95 wheels do work with a Fox style brake rotor. The wheels on the car in the video will not work with a Fox spindle unless a spacer is used. The problem with a spacer is fender clearance. Considering the ride height of the vehicle, a certain amount a camber is required to clear the edge of the fender as load is applied. In some instances, additional negative camber isn't enough. You also don't want too much negative camber for street driven vehicles. This is a conversation that has too many variables. Please give us a call at 866-507-3786. We would love to help you out.
Can tell me the item # of the front brake hoses so I can order thanks 😊
Hi Juan,
The brake hoses are only available with the purchase of our SVE Cobra Style brake kits: lmr.com/products/94-04-Mustang-Brake-Kits-Upgrades
I don't see this on your sight? is this kit with the spindles still available?
Matthew - Please read the video description as it explains the current situation for this kit. At the time of this comment, all of the parts are available, just sold differently from when this video was originally released. Thanks! -Landan
I got bought this system my break pedal is really hard any ideas

Do you have a ifs conversion kit for fox body Mustang? Solid axles are not good for scca
Hi Steve, we do not offer a IRS conversion kit on our site. You will have to source the parts from a private seller or donor vehicle.
what are the wheels/fitment specs on the wheels posted on the silver car in the beginning of the episode?
They're the SVE Series 3's. 18x9/10 with +24/+20. Here's a link for the wheels: lmr.com/products/mustang-sve-series-3-wheels-94-04
Can’t you just use 1984-1986 SVO rotors on stock Foxbody spindles?
Sure, but you're still limited on wheel selection and there is no benefit in braking performance. -Landan
I can use the axle from sn95 in the 88 fox?
How come y’all don’t j have this kit anymore?
Hi Anthony,
We do offer the parts for this kit, you will just have to piece the kit together using our DIY 5 Lug conversion: lmr.com/products/fox-body-5-lug-conversion-cobra
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to give us a call at 1-866-507-3786 and a customer care representative can assist you with piecing together the kit.
Can you buy just the rear backing plates for the caliper mounts?

Late Model Restoration awesome. Thanks
I have a question when you install the teak on the closest port to the firewall where did the extra line come from because on the rear of the OE proportioning valve you have the reports and if you want to hook one to put it in that tea you're going to have an open hole I'm asking this because I'm standing here looking at my car trying to figure out that magic you pulled because I went by just how y'all did it in the video and I have a port that needs to be filled on the proportional valve with no line to go in it that tea makes no sense
I'm not sure that I understand "teak" or "reports". I've read your comment several times, and can't really translate that terminology. I used a line kit from Maximum Motorsports to connect the '93 Cobra master cylinder to the factory proportioning valve. What master cylinder are you using? -Landan
Does anyone know if this pushes the wheel out farther? If just went to fit my new wheels 15x10 with a 6.5 back space and learned the car has a sn95 housing so wheels are to far out even with 1/4 rolled. Am I screwed here if I put stock fox housing in?
You'll need to put a stock Fox Body 8.8 back in the car if you want to run the 15x10" wheels with 6.5" back space. 94-98 and 99-04 rear ends are wider than a Fox. I attached a good article explaining the differnces. -Landan

All of the components are still available. What wheels are those shown on the car at 0:38?
Those are the SVE Series 3's in the gun metal finish. Unfortunately, that specific finish is out of stock. Please give us a call at 1-866-507-3786 for further inquiries on wheels. Thanks! - Jude H. - Social Media/Events Coordinator
Late Model Restoration fortunately I have time to wait for them. Gotta put some serious brakes and 5 lugs on it first.
Around How much is it all the kit for that mustang
Hi Roberto,
For the latest pricing and offerings on our 5 lugs kits visit - lmr.com/products/Mustang-5-Lug-Conversion-Kits
Same for 1981 Fox body? Thanks
Some steps are different. The biggest one being the axle hard lines. You'll have to cut and flare your factory lines because of the position of the center upper axle hose. -Landan
Cheaper to do svo calipers 5 lug rotors, and do sn95 gt rear brakes with caliper adapter brackets. Just buy Hawk pads and stop tech rotors frt and rear.
Will these headlines work for a 93 cobra disc brake conversion?
Hey there, if you can, please give us a call at 1-866-507-3786 and a customer care representative can assist you with that!
Why is he changing the plug on the Oem proportion valve?
If u re use the stock plug it will leak fluid out of it
So this kit will retain foxbody rear end stock length.
Hey Toni, the rear end length will stay the same with this kit, since it retains Fox length axles.
Does anyone know if you can run 03 cobra front break calipers & 95 gt rear break calipers on a 93 mustang?
Please give us a call at 866-507-3786. We would love to help you out.
Will the stock brake booster work
Technically, yes. However, due to the increase in braking volume it's recommended that you upgrade to the '93 Cobra booster. -Landan

@ my car is a 93 will it fit without denting the strut tower?
@@josephmiele3745 The car in the video is a 93. I didn't have to dent the strut tower. It helps if you elongate the holes in the firewall just a little bit so you can install the booster at a slight angle and then roll it into position. I cover those details in the video link below. -Landan

Were do i get the dust shields and rivits for the front sn95 spindles?
You dont need riviets but i got my dust shields from national parts depot, or just go to the yard and take them off a V6. They will probably be rusty though.
what is the link to this exact kit?? I cant seem to find it on your website.

Feel free to give us a call if you have any other questions or concerns! You can build out the kit just like the one shown in the video!
Can I use a 1998 mustang’s differential to make my foxbody 5 lug?
Yes, but this will make your track width on the rear 1.5" wider overall. This can cause rubbing issues in some cases with aftermarket wheels and tire combinations.
Late Model Restoration ohh okay thank you how much would it cost to do a conversion like the one of the video?
How come no c clip eliminators?
is this only 87-93 or will it work on an 86???
Yes, this kit will work for a 1986 5.0L car. You'll find that the kit includes a '93 Cobra master cylinder, so it won't mimic the cast iron unit that came equipped on 79-86 Fox Mustangs. Some customers prefer the SVO master cylinder since it's "period correct". You will need additional master cylinder adapter lines since the kit above includes the lines for 87-93 cars. Because of the design of the 79-86 parking brake assembly requires no modification, unlike the 87-93 assembly.
Here is the link for the 80-86 adapter lines for a '93 Cobra master cylinder: lmr.com/item/MM-MMBAK17/Mustang-Brake-Line-Adapter-94-95-GT-93-Cobra-Master-Cylinder

Why won’t this work on a 86 ? And where could I get the same kind of thing for my 86 gt, thanks in advance
Due to the different sizing and bracket design, we do not offer the swap kit for 79-86 cars. How much just to have someone install all this, once you have all parts?
It depends on your local performance shop/mechanic. It can be a bit pricey if you take it to someone to install it.
What about the 86 Mustang, would this kit work?
Thanks!
I also forgot to mention the use of an SVO master cylinder is required as well.
lmr.com/item/LRS-2140E/1984-86-Mustang-Svo-Brake-Master-Cylinder -Landan
Will these work with my four cylinder mustang?

@Terrab Nadia because their frames are guaranteed not to be twisted.
What size wheels fit without removing the strut
A 17X8" would be best. If you do go with anything larger, a spacer would be required for the correct fitment.

Did you know anyone if fort wort Texas can do the job??
I don't know of anyone personally, but I'm willing to bet there are several people that can do this. I would look into joining a few local Mustang Facebook groups and inquire about a reputable installer. -Landan
If your only intension is to convert to 5 lug the easiest way to do it is to use 1986 Lincoln town car Rotors on the front and Ranger axels on the rear. all parts a re a bolt in. When your doing a brake job you replace the rotors any way why not go 5 lug. If you want more back brake use the larger drums and backing plates from a 4.0 Ranger.
That's correct, but good luck using SN95 5-lug wheels. Other than the braking performance, the other added benefit of an SN95 spindle is wheel selection. -Landan
@@latemodelrestoration And why won't the Wheels from a SN95 fit your car they do fit on My mustang.
TLDR: An SN95 spindle allows for way more options when it comes to wheels. -Landan
@@latemodelrestoration The only disadvantage in using the Rotors from a SVO or Lincoln is LMR won't sell any parts that you don't need.
Wouldn’t this work for 79-86?
Hey Adam, this kit will work with 79-86 but 1979-86 Mustangs and 1987-93 2.3L Mustangs need to use 1987-93 5.0L spindles, struts, and calipers for this kit to work.
