Mine is similar. 4 x1x3. It has a cockpit, 2x1 hab, reactor, grav drive, landing bay, and rear engines. It has two additional side mounted engines. A couple of smuggler cargo holds are attached to the back and sides. That's it. With the best type B reactor it has great shields and guns. The engines are type A for max speed, Now, if only the game would let me do a little more with it.
The mod VikingTek- Compact Reactors and Grav Drives by AmericanVikingr would work great with this build. The mod gives you reactors and grav drives that are as small as ship shields yet have the same power and output as the full size ones.

I love using collision glitches to overlap my guns. Makes the ship look a lot better when you have just one or two instead of a bunch on every surface

they are glitched into the backpart ... at 10:20 you can see how I hide them

I get what youre saying but i learned a lot from this video. There needs to be videos like this too.
