I tried this recipe today and it came out beautiful. Instead of 300 gms sugar I added 275 but it was still very sweet for me but otherwise LOVED IT!!!! And also for some reason my batter became too much😂 i followed the recipe as it is but i could bake one 9×9sqaure tin and one 8 inch circle tin ❤

Priya, use desiccated coconut for this recipe. Fresh coconut will not give you the desired result. I have another cake recipe with fresh coconut, you can try that out.🙂
Hi I have my cake in the oven now. Firstly I found my coconut rawa mixture much more runny than how it was in your video. And adding the eggs made it extra extra runny. Why would that happen I'm not sure I followed the measurements exactally . Waiting for it to come out of the oven.
Hi, you may have added more milk . The batter totally dries when cool and then it gets perfect when you add the eggs. Hope your cake still turns out well.
Hi. The same thing happened with my batter as well. The batter is runny. To be precise, the end stage of the batter just ready to go into the oven as per the video, is the starting stage for me where the eggs are yet to be added. I also followed the recipe exactly
1. When you add sooji and coconut, let the stove be on medium heat. The sooji quickly absorbs the milk making the batter thick which further dried when cool. At this stage add butter to keep it moist. 2. When cool, best the eggs and add. If the eggs are large then reduce the number. The eggs that we get here are small so you need to note this too. Lastly, don't give up on this recipe try again with a smaller batch. It's a lovely cake and I'm sure you'll get it right this time 😊
@@FlavoursbyAR Thank you for the tip. Will use it the next time I prepare this cake. The cake still turned out well. Only quite dry somehow. I dont know what went wrong. I found it tasting eggy as well. I should reduce one egg the next time I guess. Also to moisten the cake again.... I cut the cake into squares once the cake cooled down and added watery sugar syrup on top. That's when the cake got moist and tasted just like the ones we purchase from Mangalore stores.

Hi Sarita... this cake takes about 40 to 45 min of baking at 180 deg C. The time again depends on your oven. Allow the cake to bake a little longer if it has not evenly browned .

Tried your semolina coconut cake. I made into cupcakes as it's easier for kids to eat them. I lessen the sugar to 1 cup and it tastes fine

Hi Wilbro... your heat must be high. Next time switch off the flame when you add the sooji and then add the rest of the ingredients.
