I’m a NASCAR fan, they were on their Olympic break this past weekend. With INDYCAR also off, the Belgian Grand Prix was my only source of motorsports action. It did not disappoint. Also, these memes are hilarious! Great video!
They've outgrown tarmac and each other. They might as well be 75% the width of the track and just park up most of the time because passing is nearly impossible in these cars (too big, too planted, too flat through corners to allow overtaking). The cars need to be smaller and squirrelly like the lower formulas to allow overtaking - if you can't have mistakes, and you can block the whole track up, good luck anyone trying to pass.
They naturally have too much downforce, remember when talking about the new aero for 21 and they said how you need the rear wing to provide the slipstream to cars behind, now the underfloor is providing so much downforce they are running tiny rear wings meaning the tow is not significant enough to make for good racing, I know they’re changing rules next year so not much need for any changes but they should be looking into reducing the floor size/ Venturi tunnel size in order to reduce downforce and encourage the teams to run larger wings again
When talking about suspicious, Totos reaction to the 1 2 was way too mild for his character. He probably was already briefed about a then possible weight miscalculation.

According to Lewis Hamilton's interview on Graham Norton a few years ago, Russell's car being even a kilogram underweight could mean gaining up to 2 seconds over the course of the race, which absolutely would have changed the outcome of the race.
Following and passing in dirty air is more difficult than just being technically faster. Lewis's newer tires already meant he was faster when he caught Russell. Being slightly faster still wouldn't mean much.
1.5kg under the weight limit at the end of the race makes a massive difference in both tyre deg and total race time - at the end of the day he gained a few seconds over a race distance and that's the diff between p1 and p3 (or even p4 seeing a Leclerc wasn't that far behind). So a bit of a fuckup on Merc's behalf just like running Lewis' car too low at the US GP last year - it's marginal things but it makes a massive diff at the end of the race.
Well he didnt win on track. And we will never know if he had passed Russel with the marginal higher weight he should have had. You could make an argument that those 1.5kg equal out to about 0,045 sec/lap and without this advantage, Lewis would have been at his back earlier and had more time/laps to make the overtake
Tommys disappearing more and more often like my dad did before one day he went out for milk and cigarettes and never came back. Tommy is actively giving me anxiety by slowly disappearing more and more often.
Would love to see Danny in the Red Bull. Even if it's just for the rest of this season. I think with all the ups and downs of his career I think him getting back in the Red Bull after leaving it would be a nice way to get rod of those "what ifs" that jumping from team to team have caused.
4:46 Matt.exe has encountered an error... Rebooting. 🤣
I remember just bring back matts race call down
I actually quite enjoyed the strategy aspect of the race. Races don’t always have to be about overtaking.
1,5kg in a sport that removes paint to save weight is a huge amount.
The strategy call from George and Mercedes was brilliant in context... the context being a car that didn't comply with the rules and had an unfair advantage. More weight is more fuel use. More weight is more tyre wear. More weight is overall a slower car. And George barely won with what he had.
P1 with Matt & Sometimes Tommy
Maybe Tommy does all the editing otherwise it is not really a fair split of work, or contractual they have a financial agreement
Noone said that you should delte the old podcast, we just wanted an extra podcast
Its a feature on the camera gimbal. Im pretty sure thats not the usual big broadcast cam that spins. But if it is, hats off to that wizard.
seems like everyone forgot about piastri's mistake pitting losing 2 or 2.5 seconds.
Someone did the math, it was 2.4sec over the whole stint.
Did they consider tyre wear?
As one of the only people to still be a George fan after he left Williams, I was absolutely gutted to see the notification that he was disqualified.
"George would have won if his car was full weight, the performance gains were tiny" his race time was about 99.991% of Lewis'. "Tiny" differences in F1 aren't that tiny in practice
It would be so anticlimactic if the camera man does a spin for a slow stop and I truly don't want that to happen because they'd probably stop doing it
